I arrived on my motorbike, and was able to park it securely on-site, rather than outside on the road-side or at the rear in the back carpark. I have stayed here 4 other times, and this time it was obvious the improvements that have been made. The private rooms have had changes made which now include a little deck as well as self-contained shower and toilet. The kitchen is clean and tidy & recycling bins are available for guests use. The dorm I stayed in was clean and comfortable with adequate power outlets for everyone to recharge electronic devices etc. The bed was also very comfortable, and the shared bathroom facilites were close by. The gardens look amazing, and it is only a short stroll to the supermarket and township (under 10 minutes) The lady owner was very helpful and chatty. Towels are available fr a small charge ($2.00 as at Feb 2025) which are thick, thirsty and soft. Happily recommend to other travellers. I will definitely be back 🙂

As we walked in the front door of this hostel with 2 Children and 3 young grandchildren we all went Wow! Huge clean kitchen with all the equipment you might need to cook a meal. to the outside tables, inside dining room with games for the children. The bedrooms were roomy and quiet and we appreciated being able to add another 2 family members to our party during our stay. The owners had made a huge effort renovating the beautiful old home and it showed. We could easily have stayed longer and enjoyed relaxing. It would be a great place to book out for a family reunion

Very nice heritage home, large room with beautifully big windows that opened to let the fresh air in. Everything about this place was great. Beds were comfortable and the room was nicely decorated, very welcoming. We stayed in the hotel part but there were also hostel room options. The shared kitchen was amazing. Although we didn't use it as we were only there one night, we did go and see it and other's were making good use of it. Great value stay!

Cool place based around this historic Westport heritage home. The main building appeared a bit rundown, but is also sprawling and ~150yrs old, so very much understandable and I did not actually stay in this building, as most of the rooms are in newer cabins surrounding it. Kitchens were spacious and had everything one would need.

Nothing in particular; I spent maybe, 9 hours here and 90% of that time asleep, so it was more than fine for a place to rest your head.

Lovely staff, great shared and well equipped kitchen facilities. Nice garden area and places to sit outside. Easy walk to shopping area.

1st time we stayed - it is a youth hostel so overall equal to my expectations. Our room was quite small and dark. The bathrooms (shared) were close - but hard to know when it was in use without barging in on someone. 2nd time we stayed - we got a room in the newer section of the hostel which was bigger - cleaner and brighter and the bathrooms were much nicer too.

Information provided about must see when in West Port, was great. Took a trip up to Denniston and was delayed by car rally on way up. Managed to break up a domestic punch up while waiting ,so quite an entertaining afternoon. Excellent facilities and places to allow you to be alone or to chat to other guests. Off Road parking for motorcycle was welcome.

The old and new blend - superb! We loved the huge kitchen, so clean; the dinning room huge and clean too. Our room was in the new wing, large room with kitchenette, table and chairs. The property has old rooms too in the grand house were lovely. The best stay ever and very good value for the money.

I love the upstairs ensuite room where I've stayed many times now. The room was spotless, bed comfortable, so peaceful, plenty hot water and good pressure. I was delighted to get a discount for my YHA membership.

I guess a small fridge in the room and fresh milk would be perfect. The kitchen facilities downstairs are excellent, but when paying the extra for a room with tea making facilities provided in the room, it would make sense to provide a wee fridge as a motel would.

Spacious, light and airy room with ensuite, fridge and views. Quiet and clean. Good kitchen facilities.

Toilet tends to trickle but not all the time. Buttons can get jammed down. Also it's quite a narrow space. Water is set extremely hot and could be turned down a bit as it's hard to get the shower at the right temperature.
