Spacious room and bathroom; excellent powerful shower; comfortable bed, plenty of space to stow your "stuff". Plentiful, good quality breakfast. Staff we encountered were all courteous, helpful and friendly.

Bedroom lighting requires a dimmer switch! There's no medium way between Off and Operating Theatre Mode. TV is too high on the wall to watch comfortably and the mount should have been tilted forward to avoid reflections from the ceiling light. The switch for the over-bed lights is set too high so you have to get out of bed to switch the light on or off. The duvet on the bed was much too heavy for summer use. Parking in front of the hotel is chaotic and nobody told us there is parking round the back - we discovered this on our last night there.

The location is ideal for visiting the Dales. The room was very nice, with plenty of room for the 2 of us and our dog. There was adequate parking which is always a bonus with hotels these days.

We were not happy with the girl who took our food order on the Sunday night. She barely spoke to us, sat us at a pretty small table by the fire which seemed to have been squeesed in. Considering we were staying at the hotel and had booked evening meals on both nights 3 weeks ago we were not impressed. She never came back to see how our food was or to clear the table and did not ask if we wanted a dessert! I appreciate that it was a busy evening but she managed to service the other tables fine...

Breakfast was lovely - and a nice selection to choose from. The evening meal was absolutely delicious. the best ever starter I have ever had - and Ive had a few over the years. The staff at the Inn were all lovely and friendly. They even changed our room to a lower floor when the nice man realised we were not well and couldnt make it all the way to the top floor. The room was beautiful, lovely and clean and had a wonderful view. I would highly recommend the Inn, the staff and the food.

Oh what a journey - dont trust crap nav folks - she kept losing the signal and sending us up dirt tracks. In the end it was down to the good old map book. But absolutely worth it once we got there - what a hidden gem.

The room (5) was big and comfortable, with a beautiful view across the Dale.. The bathroom was also big. Dinner in the attractive, bustling bar was excellent and breakfast was great. The staff were lovely and very helpful - we were offered help to find a local walk. A fabulous place!

This is a bit of an old person thing, but I struggled a bit with the shower head, which is not attached to the wall (no shower cubicle), but settled for a bath instead.

We booked last minute, there was 1 room left. We were very pleasantly surprised. The room was spotless, big and warm with beautiful views. We took our dog and had direct access to outside. We are regular walkers in the Dales so we walked from the door up onto the moors behind the pub and had one of the most stunning and enjoyable walks we’ve ever done! On return we had a pint in the sun and later dinner in the bar. It was excellent, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast next morning was equally excellent. We had another walk then headed home. All in all the best last minute impromptu break we’ve ever had and we can’t wait to go back.

After a long day, we turned up at the Punch Bowl. First impressions were a beautiful old building in the Dale's. We were welcomed into a clean and vibrant bar area, then assisted to our room with genuine enthusiasm. Our room was gorgeous...and spotless, with amazing views. The food was fantastic in taste and value. After a good night's sleep, we were welcomed to a fantastic breakfast that set us up for the day. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming, friendly and helpful. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The location was in area of wonderful scenery. The views from our bedroom windows were lovely. The food served at the Inn was excellent. Having a small fridge with fresh milk, outside the rooms, was a nice touch.

The WiFi in the room could have been better. Took a while before being able to connect. The radiators in the bedroom and bathroom needed bleeding as one remained cold and the other hot at the bottom and warm at the top

We had Room 1 which was spacious and lovely and clean with great views. The staff were helpful and made us and our Labrador very welcome. Food was lovely. We had dinner and breakfast in the bar area as we had the dog. This was a very attractive and clean bar. We enjoyed our stopover here, and have no hesitation in recommending to other travellers.

Excellent Yorkshire breakfast. Immaculately clean room with traditional furniture. The front of the building offers a great view of the dale. Easy parking behind building. Lots of nearby walking routes.

Bar area is very modern and bright with light furniture and down lighters. Nice warm fire, and friendly staff but not the typical internal decor you might expect of a Dales pub.

really nice location with wonderful views of Swaledale from the terrace and bedrooms. Very comfortable and spacious bedroom ( room 1). Excellent shower with plenty of power. Comprehensive evening dinner and wine menus with a variety of popular ales. Most dishes including steak pies etc made inhouse. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating. Ample car parking to the rear and some to the front.
