Perfect location for those without a car hoping to explore by bus and ferries. All female staff were very friendly and guest-oriented. A good breakfast sufficient for vegans and gluten-free although need to arrive before last hour to have fresh fruit and tomatoes and cucumber. Lake view was terrific and rooms were basic but spacious. Air conditioning worked very well. Cleaning was terrific.

No fridge or iron and husband owner busy and not very friendly. All other staff were lovely and very pleasant especially at breakfast and the housekeeping staff.

Great location and our room had a balcony overlooking the lake. We spent a lot of time out there. as the room was pretty small but adequate.Breakfast was great and the breakfast waitress was very good and friendly.

Shower didn’t drain well and a couple of the staff were less friendly than I hoped. When I informed the fellow at the front desk (I think he was an owner) that there was a crack in the glass door to the shower he in a less than friendly manner seemed to be blaming me for the problem. He was never real welcoming over the two days we were there. I told him I just noticed it the evening before. The shower door was hard to slide close. Just a little thing that was unfriendly. I had not cracked the shower door.

The Hotel Italie et Suisse is an excellent example of a three-star hotel - very clean, comfortable, excellent aircon, plenty of hot water, good wifi and a delicious, varied, cold buffet breakfast with gluten-free options. The location, opposite the ferry terminal and tourist office, near lake-side cafes and with all the shops and restaurants in the streets behind the hotel, is perfect - couldn't ask for better. It's even really close to the coach stop for airport buses. It is quite simply furnished, but we had a balcony (bigger than I expected), and there was a comfortable lounge on our floor (first floor). The facilities were as good as some of the four-star hotels in the resort, so unless you want a swimming pool, I would save your money and choose this hotel - you'll need plenty of cash for the ferries, entry fees and rather pricey cafes and restaurants!

A fridge in the room would be a big benefit, although some of the bigger hotels don't seem to have them either. We had a twin room on the first floor with a balcony (bigger than I expected). I had hoped to see the lake clearly, but the view opposite was partly blocked by some (very attractive) trees - we could see the lake by looking to the side. If this bothers you, ask for a room at the top. This is not the only hotel with this issue. As the location is so convenient otherwise, this isn't a huge complaint, but I was a little disappointed.

The location was fantastic! The food was incredible. The family that runs it and their staff couldn’t have been more accommodating or kind to us. I had been injured at a different location recently while vacationing in stresa. They went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable, from communicating special needs to the staff (such as having a breakfast tray ready me to have in our room without us asking, to helping us understand how to use the wheelchair to arranging transportation to the hospital). The cleaning staff even left an ice pack waiting in our room for when I returned from hospital. The breakfast was delicious, too! Clean and comfortable. Cannot stress enough how much better their kindness and intuitiveness made a difficult situation better. Thank you Simon, Carola, Leonardo and the rest of the staff from the bottom of our hearts.

room #1 had a small balcony with 2 chairs overlooking the front of the hotel, unfortunately the trees blocked the view of the lake, but it was very nice anyway. breakfast was good, selection was of a good assortment, staff was very friendly. they have a nice lounge on the first floor where you can visit with friends or read quietly.

would have liked a small fridge, and while we didn't need it much, the one evening we felt that turning on the AC would help, we found that the thermostat was locked, showing a padlock symbol when you tried to switch it on.

It was a very good location. Lakeside view and adjoining the old streets of the town. The staff spoke English and we heard Marta speaking French. They were kind, helpful and attentive and friendly. The breakfast was good with plenty of choices. The whole hotel was very clean. The bed was comfortable. Shower worked well. Sound proofed from outside and inside. Air conditioning. Ferries dock across the road.

The view of my hotel room was amazing ! I was looking out onto the lake, an amazing view to wake up to in the morning

I thought I had paid for everything so I left after breakfast, someone had to come out after me to say I hadn't paid a city tax. Suggestion to pay this on check in, I was in a rush to make a train to Switzerland so it wasn't ideal

The hotel is located in the first line just next to the lake coast. There is a spacious municipal parking in front of the hotel, easily available at 10 euros per day (buy the ticket at the hotel). The other places (the pier, the park, the beaches, the promenade) are close by as well. Breakfasts are very good. The aircon in the room works very well and saves you from the heat outside. Above that all, we are very grateful to the hotel staff who helped us to tackle a technical issue with our car.

There could be more shelves in the room to put things on.

Great location, directly opposite the ferry terminal for boat trips to the islands. Old town and many restaurant options right next door. Fairly large room with a balcony and a gorgeous view of the lake. Very friendly and helpful staff. Tasty breakfast and coffee.

Very basic and aged furnishings. Somewhat Soviet in style. Hard tiled floor in room. Bed and cushions a bit hard and dated too. Old style blankets.

The hotel in front of Lake Majura Simon and the staff are lovely people. Service. A wonderful breakfast. the staff is always available for help. For questions and all with a smile and a face. Especially the charming Martha.The hotel is close to the main square
