Finca Luna is the perfect balance between environmentally friendly establishment and luxury and comfort. The nature (vegetation and animals from iguanas to sloths)around the hotel compound is amazing and gives lots of options to explore. The staff is wonderful and ready to help and support all your needs, including tours in the area. Our favorite was childrens eternal rainforest hike. The restaurant serves mostly food prepared with homegrown vegetables and fruits through regenerative farming. The accommodation we had was Casa Deluxe and it had everything you need. Swimmingpool is always accesible to relax, and it is cleaned with ozon, so no chlorine, which is fantastic. For practical matters, the internet through wifi worked fantastic (happy kids), and the cost of food was ok, but if you want to explore other restaurant options in the area, you need a car. Overall, Finca was the best place we have ever stayed. Hope to be back someday.

This is more information than a complaint. We visited the area in the rainy season, at the end of July, at the beginning of August. You can actually borrow umbrellas from the reception, which we didn't know. We had to shorten our hike to Arenal volcano from intended 3,5 hrs to 1,5 hrs due to heavy rainfall. If we had our umbrellas, we could have probably enjoyed the hike better.

The lodge was absolutely beautiful!!! My room was gorgeous, the bed was super comfy and shower was lovely. I did luck out and get the room that has a private balcony which was lovely and relaxing. The food at the restaurant was delicious with a varied selection each night for dinner. The pool was perfect, and the night tour was exceptional. The guide for the hike Jason was super knowledgeable, and I was able to get some great pictures! The entire staff was warm and welcoming. It is a little outside of the "main" area but only about 20 min drive. And this helped make it super quiet. Highly recomend, I've traveled to over 20 countries and this was one of my favorite places I've ever stayed at!!

The grounds are amazing. Naturally landscaped, well kept trails and fresh farm to table food made for a spectacular experience. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Food is amazing and lots of room to explore. Plenty of plants, birds and wildlife like toucans and sloths. There's a bird feeding station that attracts all sorts of colorful birds. In the morning, you can hear the howler monkeys calling out from the jungle. There are plenty of activities for the family including pool, sauna, massage and night time guided hikes to explore the jungle at night. Close enough to visit La Fortuna and Arenal areas, but far enough away for a quiet, relaxing vacation.

Staff at reception are nicest human beings! And everyone we met were so happy to work there and be part of a great team. Toucans all around in the morning and evening. Bird watching tower was amazing. I loved walking around the farm and discovering the nature trail at night. Food was good! Interesting because they only use the veggies they grow so you have many healthy options and home cooked quality which makes it a healthy stay. We had breakfast and dinner there every day! Kids option of chicken tenders were so yummy!

The pool is quite cold. Maybe a heater. Also jacuzzi is cold and weirdly shoots water outside of tub.

We loved everything about our stay at Finca Luna Nueva! The grounds were equal parts beautiful and educational, the staff couldn’t have been more friendly, and the food was fresh, healthy, and delicious. We stayed four nights in a family bungalow. It was comfortable and more than enough room for five. We enjoyed pool and hot tub time, smoothies and cocktails poolside, hiking trails, a night jungle tour, and a chocolate class while on property. We also loved the white water rafting trip that we arranged through reception! We hope we’re lucky enough to return!

A Perfect 10/10 Experience – Pura Vida at Its Finest! We initially expected a more rustic stay, but this finca completely blew us away! From the moment we arrived, the hospitality, kindness, and attention to detail were beyond anything we could have imagined. Every aspect of the property is dedicated to preserving its natural beauty, with ethical sourcing, sustainable farming practices, and a deep respect for the environment. One of the most incredible parts of our experience was knowing that all the food is grown on-site. Not only was it some of the best food we’ve ever had, but learning about where it comes from made it even more special. Every meal felt like a celebration of the land and its resources. We were lucky to visit during a yoga retreat, which created the most peaceful, zen-like atmosphere—exactly what the doctor ordered! On top of that, we had the chance to take part in an amazing chocolate-making class, where we learned about the entire process from start to finish: harvesting cacao, fermenting and drying the beans, and finally grinding them with real sugar to create the most delicious, pure chocolate. It was an unforgettable experience! The staff deserves a massive shoutout! Byron is the man—his heart and dedication to guest experience are unmatched. He went out of his way to walk the property with us, find a sloth for my wife, and even teach us the sound of a toucan. Thanks to him, we were able to identify toucans later in Manuel Antonio! Danny, Melina, and Jasmine were also absolutely fantastic, making sure every moment felt special. The attention to detail was so on point that it felt like stepping into an episode of White Lotus: Costa Rica—minus the TV drama, of course! PURA VIDA! 🌿☀️🍫

The finca is truly stunning, and photos do not do it justice. If you're visiting the area, this is an absolute must-stay. Our only regret? Booking off-property excursions. Next time, we’ll be staying at the finca the entire time to soak in every experience they offer.

Finca Luna Nueva is a beautiful sustainable eco-lodge that also focuses on regenerative agriculture and maintaining a healthy ecosystem. It is such a peaceful place to stay, take in the beauty of the wildlife all around you, and know that you’re supporting a truly dedicated team of folks working to make this world a better place. We stayed in the Dome Suite which was just lovely with big screened windows and amazing design touches. We woke up listening to the birds in the morning outside on our private patio and walked over to a buffet breakfast at the restaurant by the pool. The staff will help you arrange any nearby activities you want (we did a fantastic river boat tour) but honestly we enjoyed just walking the trails on the property and seeing a sloth, an anteater, and the many many birds and butterflies right outside our door! I would hands down recommend this lodge to anyone looking to explore this area of Costa Rica.

The grounds were absolutely beautiful. I went on a bird watching tour, and I saw more birds there than the Hanging Bridges!

The location is far out of La Fortuna, so no tours will pick you up, but we rented a car, and it was half an hour into the town!

This Place is absolutely oustanding in every aspect, first of all we checked in to a very friendly welcome and also to find out room had been upgraded and it did not dissapoint, the Casita Deluxe rooms are spacious, clean and very well decorated not to mention looking out to the forest from the balcony/patio area, where you can relax in your hammock and listen to the wildlife around. Staff are extremely pleasant and attentive and always went out of there way to help you, even pointing out some wildlife in the trees above, ( literally a sloth living in the trees above the restuarant every where around you you see something interesting!) The grounds around the Finca are also astonishing you have a few walks you can do around the grounds and you are guaranteed to see all sorts of wildlife, they also do some tours onsite as they have a massive reserve of land, we did the night tour and it did not dissapoint, we saw a multitude of wildlife as the forrest literally comes alive at night, from the most colourful of tree frogs to giant fruit bats there was always something to spot, our guide was also extremely informative and had eyes like a hawk for finding things. The restaurant and bar are situated right next to the pool is well furnished and relaxing place to chill for a very good cocktail or a Craft beer that is made by a local small brewery. The food here is exceptional with the menu changing daily and provided locally from the farmlands of the finca itself, the breakfast was also fantastic, made to order eggs and fresh yoghurts, fruit etc.. even the honey is made onsite from the stingless bees. We even had to leave very early before breakfast on our last day there and they kindly provided some fruits and juice for us to take. The pool is large and well maitained and also the jacuzzi is located nearby, thre is also a spa area should you wish to have some treatments, Overall a breathtaking place and you will not be dissapointed should you choose to stay.

This place is heaven on earth and absolutly outstanding in every aspect.The grounds are beautiful,stuff are extremely pleasant and very welcoming, helpful and kind people everywhere. This beautiful place nestled in the forest let us see so many birds, sloth, flowers. The restaurant offers great, healthy food using ingredients from their own farm. We had an oportunity to taste some delicious food we had never tasted before. We were planning to eat only breakfast each morning and than eat on the road. We ended up eating lunch and dinner beacuse after our excursions we could not wait to see if there is something extraordinary in the restaurant waiting for us! and we were right. We had also beautiful rooms, the terrace with hamac for nice relaxing time with a great view of pool and gardens. It was so hard to leave this place. Thank you for your hospitality and hopefully we will see you again!
