Great location, easy walking distance to all the sights, HBF about 10-15min walk, or the bus-stop about 5min walk round the corner. (I would suggest getting the bus to Dachauplatz or a taxi to the accommodation if you have a wheeled suitcase as it's cobbled road the whole way). Comfortable beds, hot shower, very good heating, good sized room with fridge, oven, microwave, etc.to make a longer stay feel like home. Although there was no corkscrew provided, an obliging local restaurant lent us one for the evening! The owners were easy to communicate with before and during the stay. I had an issue with the showerhead breaking after 8pm on a Friday night, sent a message and email with photos, and really appreciated their quick response to get this fixed asap the next day.

Better flexibility with earlier check-in times would be good, as there was only a limited check-in window of a few hours starting from 4pm. Most places will let you check-in from 2pm onwards which helps make travel arrangements easier & cheaper. Update to clearer instructions/better instructions for checkout -- I was told at check-in to return the bed linen with my keys when I check-out, and the "rule-book" inside the room also said to remove and return bed-linen at checkout. So I'd stripped the 3 beds, and took everything to reception in a separate trip, and was told "Er...no, just remove the bed linen and leave it on the floor of your room."

Nice location, everything clean and facility to use kitchen space to make food and drinks and sit.

The reception is right next door, but looks a bit like a shop front unless you stand back from the pavement to see the big lettering above. The sign you notice is to the actual bedrooms via a little courtyard as the sign stands out when you look down the street. I wasn’t the only one as after I had checked in I found a lady similarly wondering in the courtyard looking for a reception. A not on the court yard door or a picture on webpage might be helpful to others.

Even the check-in hour is 15, I was allowed to do it earlier, at 12, getting a message with lobby code and instruction how to get the keys. The hostel is well maintained, with clean showers and toilets. Plenty of electricity sockets in the room or next to the bed.

The bed was not very comfortable. The lockers are too small, too fragile and very noisy when you open/close the door. If someone is leaving early in the morning, will wake-up everybody in the room. The fridge in the lobby seems too small for the number of guests but for me, staying just two nights, was ok (only cooling one beer).

Great, clean and tidy hostel. Big rooms with big lockers, comfortable beds, huge bathrooms. Nice equipped kitchen with all that you need to cook, so clean also. Good location in downtown, not so far to the train station, yo can just take a bus from Dachauplatz to safe some time (a lot of frequency with those busses). Standard facilities for this price.

A bit missunderstanding about my suitcase 'cause the receptionist didn't know where It was. It looks like her co worker safed it in one closet without telling her or she didn't know that the suitcases can be safe there. Perhaps a bit more of comunication would be nice to avoid a heart attack to the guests😅

The room was quite nice with comfy beds, good storage lockers with provided keys, plenty of electrical outlets and storage. Very clean and well-maintained toilet and shower facilities easily accessed through a hall at the back of the room. The location is a little distance from the old town but near enough on foot and in a quiet area.

The staff were not very friendly, and the 3pm check-in time is absolutely strict - if you arrive before 3pm you will not be able to check in but also cannot enter the lobby or facilities at all. So, unlike most hostels I have been to that allow you to begin the check-in process, store luggage, use the toilets, etc. earlier in the day, here you are stuck standing outside until someone comes to open the door at 3pm. It felt fairly uninviting.

The hostel is in the most perfect location, right in the heart of Old Town and next to so many bars and shops (though it was never noisy at night). The staff are very friendly and helpful, and everything works very well. The rooms are spacious and the showers are really great. Very well equipped and big kitchen, and enough space to socialise but also get some work done. The hostel is nice and quiet and in a safe location. There is a laundromat 1 minute away and a lovely local pub 3 mins away! I will always come back here if I visit Regensburg again.

I had the top bunk bed, and every time you climb up it shakes the entire bed (including the poor sleeping person below me).

This family room is a great stay for cyclists - the hostel has an inner courtyard with rack to secure bikes overnight. We're elderly and have never stayed in hostels, but this family room with bathroom and kitchen was a private unit with our own entrance. The reception staff were welcoming and helpful, the unit large, the kitchen well appointed, the wifi good , the bed comfortable and there was plenty of hot water. The hostel is well located - it is one block from all the cruise ships on the Danube and two blocks from the altstadt. We would certainly stay again.

Lovely place right across the street from the Danube. Hostel am Ostentor is well thought out and planned. Great kitchen. Some basics and necessities are shared. Sociable eating and seating area. Stylish place, comfortable beds, beautifully clean bathrooms. Everything that you could possibly need. There's also an outstanding arts centre round the corner with theatre, cinema, jazz and restaurant. You are 2 minutes walk away from the Gothic cathedral and old town.

Really there's nothing to put here!

Great location, Walking distance to the main station and everything around Regensburg. We had new years eve at the apartment with our 6 month old daughter and everything was super handy. We could go out and enjoy the fireworks for New Year's can come back right in when the baby needed to get in. I had expected a lot less given New Year's Eve and the price, but the room was very good!

Not the fault of the owners but on New Years morning, the fire alarm went off shortly before 8. Some drunken person decided it was a good idea to smash the general evacuation alarm. The alarm went off for over one hour before the fire brigade arrived. Fire brigade could not shut off the alarm and they left. There was no one contactable from the Hotel staff so the alarm kept going until someone arrived in the office

It's really really clean everywhere: room, toilets and showers. Kitchen is also ok. Bed linens, pillow, blanket are all of excellent quality.

Bunks could be better. I prefer wooden Bunks / capsules, because metal ones wake you up if you touch their cold parts at night. Also they r a little squicky. Rooms are tight, just enough space to walk through to your bed. Lockers are small. I don't think you can find free parking around. I've got a parking ticket for parking in the yard nearby, which I thought was free ((
