The room was good sized and furnished well. Both the bathroom and sleeping room were very clean and tidy. Th beds and bedding are very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast very much. A large selection of breakfast foods to choose from. The Skyr they served was the best we tried in Iceland! Hotel is walking distance to a grocery store and a gas station convenience store which was open until 23:00.

They are undergoing construction and the power was off the off for an hour the first night of our stay. In the morning the electric door at the main entrance was inoperative. To go outside I had to manually force the door open. Understandable with them undergoing facility improvements.

Finally I reached the "true hotel" in Island. Near the main road but quiet. Big and cosy rooms with very nice bathroom. Nice owner at the reception. Very tasty breakfast including hot dishes - first time I had good fried eggs for hotel breakfast. Beds were comfortable with high quality matress. I had dinner at the restaurant - lambs - it was good. I strongly reccomend this hotel for people travelling around Island - the quality is better than in most of the places on the island. Kind regards for Polish stuff :)

The room was excellent, very spacious. Nice to have a fridge, kettle and underfloor heating in the bathroom at night. The restaurant on site is really good too and the team are helpful. The housekeeping team are excellent and the room was always immaculate when we came back from being out.

The bathroom was actually too warm with the underfloor heating and shower on ... came out a little dizzy. But opened a window in the bedroom and soon felt fine again.

The hotel is an older hotel. No lift etc. But the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The breakfast provided in the price included bacon and eggs which was a nice surprise. Not a common occurrence on our trip. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel and since it was pouring rain outside, a handy asset. Food was ok but not great for the money. There is a supermarket within walking distance. The hotel is on the highway but road noise was not an issue. A good place to stay for the Ring Road trip.

Used this as a mid point while travelling so wanted a bed for the night. Easy to find and parking on-site free. Good breakfast . Good strong shower and clean. Easy check in and out. Nice guy at reception. The restaurant attached was very good value and good food. Quaint. Good value for Iceland

Sockets were behind bed and no headboard so had to move the bed out to plug in charger. I’ve found this is quite a few places in Iceland.

Basic, clean rooms. Had a motel feel.Good breakfast included. Minimal staff but check-in and check-out was easy. Good value for money. Supermarket very close by. Nice restaurant in the hotel with great burgers (reasonably priced too by Iceland standards) We saw the Northern lights right outside our hotel so Kanslarinn Hella will always be special to us.

Our most comfortable room / bed in Iceland! Fully new renovated, very stylish and cozy. Big room. But I must say somehow we got an upgrade so everything was even better than expected. Good location, easy to find and plenty of parking spaces. The personal was very kind and hardworking. The breakfast was excellent with more choices as usual in Iceland.

I liked everything :) Maybe they could renovate the inn from the outside too, but I'm really being nitpicky now.

We stayed in this hotel two times. During our first stay, there was a smell of smoke in the room. The hotel staff was kind enough to provide us with another room. Both rooms were great, the breakfast was delicious. The location was also very convenient since we had options to have food nearby. There is also a grocery store and a pharmacy in the neighborhood, which was great for our stay.

the room was very big and well newly furnished, quite in contrast with the entrance and the hall, it was a nice surprise when we entered the room. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was very big as well. Excellent cleanness and sheets and towels Plenty of free parking in front of the entrance, very convenient location on the main road.

The entrance and the hall have a quite old vibe. The breakfast was ok but very simple, there was almost nothing sweet, only a fake-Nutella to eat with bread and some digestive biscuits, fruits would be also a great addition.
