One of the best hotel stays we’ve had! The room was spacious and very clean. The breakfasts were definitely the best we had during our time in Sri Lanka. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We also want to highlight Malith - he was always around, super friendly, and helped us with any questions we had during our stay. He even printed out activity and sightseeing options near the hotel, which was really thoughtful. The food at the restaurant isn’t cheap, but everything we ordered was delicious - especially the tuna steak. The portion was so big it could easily feed two people!

We had a great time at Ubuntu Villas! It wasn’t crowded at all, which made it even more enjoyable. Before coming, we saw some reviews mentioning dogs on the beach, but in our experience, they were very friendly and not aggressive at all. For us, they weren’t a problem in any way. The atmosphere was peaceful, and the surroundings were beautiful, definitely a place we’d visit again! Great beach close to Mirissa and Weligama beach, but much less crowded. All the staff were very welcoming and helpful, but we especially want to highlight Vishva as a very kind and polite young man who made our stay even more pleasant ☺️ Also, just a 3-minute walk from our apartment, there restaurant and bar that we absolutely loved. Great food, great drinks, and a perfect spot to relax after a day at the beach. Highly recommend!

Well designed villa on the private ocean beach, with the nice pool. But it’s not a hotel, so don’t expect a good hotel service - you will not get it here. The food in the villa is very poor, so I’d recommend lunches/diners in Zephir restaurant next door (just 1 min on the beach, right side). Be ready to wait for cocktails/coffee near pool longer than expected, as the staff will bring them from a sister hotel nearby. Be prepared, that Zephir might have a party all night long, so you will not have a chance to sleep, as all noice you will hear all night. The management of villa couldn’t solve it during our stay. We’ll not come back here, definitely.

Peaceful & private

Non operational kitchen meant every order took more than 1 hour to be made, even during typical meal times (lunch / dinner). Resident on site chef is much needed.

Beautiful large room, big shower, beautiful pool with ocean view, amazing and attentive staff

I wish they had a bigger food menu! The staff were so lovely (so so genuinely kind) but we went in quiet season (July) and were pretty much the only guests and that meant the staff were constantly hovering over us and always asking us what we want when we just wanted to relax and chill. This is not a complaint at all, the staff were lovely and I just dont like being hovered over, it made me feel bad!

The decor is stunning, and the rooms are exceptionally clean, with an incredible scent. The entire staff was outstanding, especially Lakmal, who went above and beyond to ensure my stay was perfect and even upgraded my room on the last day! The location is ideal, right on the beach. A special thank you to Amith for noticing I dropped my debit card while getting into the tuk and going out of his way to return it to me at the Doctor's house. Throughout my stay, the hotel manager regularly checked if I needed anything, making my experience so good that I extended my stay multiple times. It truly was the highlight of my time in Sri Lanka.

Beautiful beach side villa, perfect location, clean and large room. Very professionally managed, once the staff is available.

There is no centralized system to contact the staff. They hv to run between 3 of their properties due to the location of the properties, so unfortunately, they can't be available when we need them. Dinning table is too high and chair is low comparatively which makes eating all the more tough. Finding which property we are booked at was tough so we had to visit every property to know which villa is ours.

Wonderful bedroom, spacious, light and beautifully comfortable. Most comfortable bed of our 3 week trip, with fabulous bed linen. Air conditioning worked brilliantly, not always guaranteed in Sri Lanka! Stunning view of the beach, a truly beautiful view. Very quiet which ensured we slept really well. Staff were so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble - they were exceptional. We liked being a short walk from the Lantern as it was lovely to go there but it meant it was quieter in the villa.

Can't really think of anything - it was so fab we returned at the end of the holiday!

It is an amazing villa, with a staff, everyone was super kind and helpful. The place was very comfortable, and not crowded at all in january, sometimes even felt is just for us, but the villa has 8 rooms. Food was also brilliant. The whole beach was very peaceful and clean. If you want to hide away, but be close (20 min with tuktuk) to frequent places, than you find the perfect choice.
