Its nice hotel on the river with a pool area. Everything is very close around and easy to access. There is a nice terrace and bar outside that was open till very late and it was very convenient. The days of our stay the hear was crazy - up to 39 degrees outside so AC worked well and there were also dark shades on the windows. Staff was very friendly and attentive, check in was on time.

We had few ants in the room and when we left food they multiplied, we talked to reception and the reacted immidietly and come with the spray. So that was solved.

A beautiful hotel with a beautiful view, if you are lucky to get a room with a view of the river). Hotel is very modern with an excellent location (near the Mertola castle). The room was adequate in size, clean and modern. The hotel has its own free parking lot. The hotel has a view of the underground Roman ruins in the lobby. The Wi-Fi and internet connection were excellent

Hotel has no elevator, and my room was, not surprisingly, on the top floor (3rd). The hallways on the floor are dark because the light switches work on timer (not even on motion detection). The breakfast facility is in the hotel next door. At the time of my stay, there was a large group cyclists, which irritated me. They had their vans and cars parked on the street in front of the hotel, which didn't allow for two-way traffic. Also, they had breakfast early, which crowded the breakfast hall. The breakfast buffet selection was OK

The room was well equiped, very clean and comfortable and te staff although very busy were helpful. The lady in the outside snackbar was a delight to deal with. Breakfast although in another building had good varitity and was kept constantly refeshed.

The hotel position low in the river valley meant that at at the time we arrived the air was heavy and humid. Although there was a kettle in the room the tea bags supplied where just two of the same type a greater variety would have been appreciated

Modern, clean, comfortable beds. The on site restaurant /bar was superb. Many restaurants in Mértola close in the evenings, Hotel Museu restaurant is open all day, with very wide range of good value dishes and drinks. Food served by friendly, efficient staff on terrace overlooking the river,the best view for any restaurant in Mertola. Lovely pool,ideal after hikes in the area around this town.

Great location, the ruins in the basement connected us with the rich history of Mertola. Easy parking. Cafe just outside with beautiful views of the river. Wonderful

Please note a lot of the restaurants and museums in Mertola are closed on a Monday. We still had a fabulous time and a great supper nearby in restaurant Temujin which was a short walk.

Beautifully situated, with balcony suites overlooking the river. Lovely boat tours offered. (Steep) walking distance to center of town with fantastic restaurants and a beautiful church (former mosque). A truly memorable experience.

Our suite was on the small side, and the sofa had spots all over. A simple throw-blanket would have helped.

Nice stay for one night on our roadtrip through the Alentejo. Hotel was good and comfortable, spent some time at the swimming pool with partly view on the river. Nice terrace for drinks and bites at the entrance of the hotel.The Mertola city itself is small and quite, although we were there in June.

Small pool area, no grass only tiles.

Really enjoyed the outside bar and terrace Bed was very comfortable and the tv it’s range of channels was by far better than most places that we have stayed in

We asked for a room with a bath. There was one but very poorly thought through. With a fixed screen at the tap end sloping side and end, it was not easy to use, even as a shower. We are both in our 70’s, reasonably fit but would have not taken the risk.

Located near the river, which was nice but not very convenient for my wife who has difficulty walking. Staff were excellent and the facilities for breakfast and dining/drinks outside the hotel were very helpful bearing in mind the situation. Amazing number of television programs available. Much better than I have seen in a 5* hotel.

Nothing really except location but we could have driven into the town centre.

The location is nice with view onto the river. Nice Pool. They have a snackbar open until midnight. Where you can eat small fates like salads, burgers, sandwiches.

There is no mini fridge or waterbottles in the room. So you buy drinks and water at the bar. No balcony for the room to enjoy the riverview.
