We got an upgrade to a refurbished room nice surprise. Roomy and quiet. Breakfast was varied and great service from the two Asian ladies Nice welcome when checking in from the South American front manager
Location a little too far out if you don't have a car though we took Uber no problem getting one quickly. Dinner is hit and miss we had a good meal first night but second night only one pasta dish left which seemed a left over and not fresh. Need to be more generous with veggie ifor 5 pounds. The hallways need carpet replaced which is probably part of a long term upgrade as they upgrade more rooms.

Our room faced onto a main road but you couldn't tell because of very effective double glazing. Also the curtains were lined so the room was always dark so you got a good nights sleep. The room was spacious with sufficient shelf and cupboard space for storage. The bathroom was modern with a nice shower stall. As hotel residents we had access to the Gym and swimming pool (and steam room) in a leisure facility located around the back of the hotel - just needed a £1 coin for the locker and towels were provided for you.
if you prebook breakfast it'll cost you £16 per person, but if you turn up at the breakfast bar in the morning you can get a cheaper discounted rate of £13 per person - something wrong there wouldn't you say ? £16 per head is also a bit pricey for a standard fare buffet bar - you'd have to stay a couple of hours to get value for money. Edinburgh prices I guess. There didn't seem to be any extraction fan for the shower room so it was permanently humid in there.

Checking in online was useful meaning our room key was ready and waiting when we arrived at the reception desk. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a really pleasant surprise, clean with a HUGE and super comfortable bed, the tea and coffee tray was well stocked and it was no issue to get more supplies from reception. They were really helpful in filling my flask with ice and water whenever I requested, (due to medication I drink alot of iced water). We had a reasonable view and it was far enough away from the centre to not have the noise concerns or traffic. Easy to park with plenty of parking and a bus stop virtually outside the hotel.
The breakfast, very low amount of choice especially in fruit. The cooked breakfast there was no form of potatoes/hash browns/saute potatoes, and sadly when left on heat under lights bacon and sausages turn to leather, the eggs go hard, and everything is generally lukewarm at best. For the cost it was unimpressive. The toilets in the general bar area were also not very nice, there were at least 3 of them out of order for more than 1 day (we stayed 2 nights), one was constantly running the others were difficult to flush, and generally they were not the nicest to use. Particularly by the restaurant and bar area it felt grubby because of this. The bar was reasonably priced compared to the main town!

The room was large The bed was not that comfortable, but I realise this is a very subjective thing.. It was good that there was a fan to use Receptionist was lovely and helpful Breakfast buffet had a wide range to chose from and it was regularly topped up (though fried eggs don't do well under a heat lamp) Free access to the gym, pool etc is good for those who want it. Having a car park was the reason we booked here. We used the bus and tram to get into and around the city.
Restaurant was the least appealing as the food was very expensive for what it was, and very basic when it arrived. Having to slam the door really hard to close it. More of a niggle really but conscious of others around us.

On the bus route. Also a lovely walk in the park across from the hotel. Bar is open late. Rooms quiet. Ample tea and coffee given. Anna at reception is a gem and made us aware of a wedding and ensured it did not impact us. The peace is worth the point that you need a bus to go to the shops for anything. But having the bus outside is excellent. And use the app city mapper, really helps.
The one light did not work but they sorted that quickly. The fan in the toilet did not work. Otherwise all good. Recep0tion and bar staff were super friendly but not the staff that handled breakfast. They were the opposite. Breakfast was a little limited and they only informed us after breakfast that we could have ordered porridge.

Prepared for the guests they knew they were about to receive; providing situational information to guests, i.e. oasis gig - public transport routes, taxi, etc. There was also complementary food in the evening for those of us returning from the gig late at night, available until the early hours of the morning, which was a pleasant surprise. The room was cool in temperature, and well ventilated. Well stocked with beverages, and vending machines in the lobby for late night snacks. A very comfortable bed, and no disruptions during the stay.
The price for the stay. The hotel, and others in the area knew there was going to be a demand for rooms, and thus, decided to capitalise on that fact and drastically raised the prices.

Free parking on-site, staff were very helpful and super nice. The room was a really good size, with a super King size which was not two singles pushed together :-) Everything was super clean including the en-suite which was spotless. Large TV, tea/coffee, kettle, hairdryer, fan, safe, trouser press plenty of electric sockets and USB charging points. We had breakfast the following morning which is extra (£13pp if you pay for it the day before) It was self service and had a huge selection to choose from ie., full English, cerial, selection of fruit and continental - even haggis! There was also a swimming pool, spa and gym, but we were only there one night so we didn't partake. I will say again, all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful :-)
Nothing to dislike at all.

The bed was really comfortable. The room was well laid out. Good tv and liked the complimentary tea and coffee. Staff were friendly and breakfast was good. The bacon was really good. Liked the swimming pool which was warm. The pool area wasn't as clean as the hotel. Loved the complimentary drinks voucher, much appreciated. Easy to get into Edinburgh on the 26 bus too. Free carpark was appreciated.
The fire doors were wedged open! The pool area could have been cleaner. Everything else was good. Some staff could have benefited from a little more training at breakfast, but reception and bar and restaurant staff in the evening were great.

As a lone female traveller, I felt very safe and welcome by the staff. I had to pass the reception to get to my room, and every time, the receptionists would check in, which was lovely. Every member of staff I came across were very friendly. The food was lovely and the pool was nice and warm, and not too busy. The bed was massive and offered a good night sleep. The whole room was clean and tidy.
There was slight confusion with the kitchen. I came in late from a day trip and went to order food. The last food order was 9pm and I went to order 5 minutes before this to be told the kitchen was closed. However, after a conversation with the receptionist and the bartender, I was able to order food...thank you for helping me out!

The hotel is in a very nice and quiet neighborhood. The transportation was very easy and accessible, easy to get to and from the town center, close to the bus stop. The general hotel layout, design and the staff were all very nice. Our room was just enough for 2 people. The breakfast was good value even though not amazing. Would definitely stay here again.
The rooms are not soundproof at all, the floors creak and make a lot of noise, whether it be from us or other rooms around us. Especially very early in the mornings, the cleaning staff would start working but it’s as if there was no door between us, can hear everything straight through. That would be the biggest downside of our stay here.
