The host is really kind and helpful, the breakfast is typical Scottish but you can find also brioches, cereals, yogurt and fruit. The lady that cooks the breakfast is so nice too. The room is comfortable, a smart TV is available inside, such as towels, shower gel and hair dryer. If you want you can also have breakfast or a break in the room using the coffee - tea maker provided with the cups and biscuits. The position is a little far from the city centre, in a quiet residential area. However, it is easily and well connected by bus with the main attractions of the city.

This is a nice guest house, a little out of Edinburgh city centre. The walk here from the train station took us about 40 minutes. We chose to take the bus when we went back to the station, and the host was helpful in directing us to the best bus stop. The number 23 ran every 15 minutes, and dropped us in the heart of the city for £2.20p. Our room and bathroom were good, and breakfast was very nice and the people we dealt with were all lovely. I would recommend this guest house, as long as being in the heart of the city isn't essential. It's slighly out of town location is reflected in the price, as city centre accommodation is often much more expensive.

Lovely stay! Owner Jim is super friendly and accommodating; the whole staff are wonderful and helpful. Breakfast is substantial and delicious. And Gabby (the dog) is an expert greeter! (She’s loving and gentle.) The location is great too - easy bus access to get around and surprisingly walkable to most things anyway (if one doesn’t mind walking of course).

The breakfast was really good and the service was excellent. We really enjoyed the Location. If you cross the street, there is a walking path that goes for miles in all directions. It was really nice and peaceful to be able to get where we wanted to go without all the road noise. It would be a nice place to bike if that is something you enjoy. The room was clean and had everything we needed. It was a great value.

The beds/bedding was fine but could be updated. Also note to keep noise down since the rooms are so close to one another and the building is older and less insulated. Neither of these things took away from our stay. I would still recommend this place.

They served a full Scottish breakfast every morning. Great view from the room of Edinburgh Castle. Easy access to public transportation. Very nice staff at the Brig'ODoon Guesthouse. The bed was comfortable.

Room was quite small There was no real place to put your stuff. (No real closet just a small rack to hang up a few clothes. ) We would have liked to have some sort of bureau to place clothes in so we didn't have to drag the suitcase out everytime we wanted socks. Other than this the stay was great.

The location is excellent. Public transport super close and in abundance. The breakfast staff were very friendly and the breakfast offerings were extensive. If you can get a front room, there is a view to the city.

The beds could do with an upgrade. Very creaky with too much give in the springs. Lots of stairs so beware if you have heavy luggage. Hot water took 5 minutes to come through - would be helpful to know this on check-in. Room was cold - there was an oil heater provided to boost the temperature.

The locations was perfect, right in front of the bus stop in a nice and quiet neighborhood. The staff was amazing, very helpful and friendly people who try to accommodate everybody’s need (they also provided packed breakfast for us!). Breakfast was amazing and well cooked. The rooms are clean.

The bathrooms need to be renovated, they are old and not well functioning. The WiFi was not working in the rooms.

Breakfast was a highlight, it was a beautiful laid out room with a beautiful view. I had a lovely view of Edinburgh city from my room. All facilities were wonderful and met my expectations. I was able to leave my luggage in the accommodation while I waited for my afternoon train. Public transport is so easy and quick which was amazing. There are stairs but that wasn’t a problem for me.

Breakfast was fantastic and a nice selection! The lovely lady who did breakfast was very friendly and informative! Our room was clean and comfortable with a good selection of tea/coffee/sugar/biscuits!

We were in room 3 and there was only one thing missing in our room and that was a lock on the toilet/bathroom door for privacy as it didn't close and it kept opening when in there! Apart from that, everything was fine :D

Lovely people with a gorgeous dog, the room was big for a single person staying and bright. Hosts we're very accommodating to my request for a quieter room (for disability reasons) and the room was quiet (apart for a couple dog barks from time-to-time but that was no bother). Enjoyed the filling breakfast and the breakfaster chef was very sweet.

Nothing Negative :) Wouldn't say theres anything I disliked, just note the ensuite I was a proper wetroom so the bathroom floor gets a bit flooded (floor bathmat was provided though). Also note there isn't a lift, so request a ground floor room if you'd struggle with a suitcase up stairs
