I liked the breakfast- everything was fresh- the room clean and bright. I loved the outside patioarea by the Golf course. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary - it was nice to take a cup oof coffee out there and enjoy the peacefullness. Also we were given a suite with a nice view of the water fountsin and grassy hills. It was a clean , modern and well planed hotel with comfortable sleeping arrangements . Loved the robes as well. The front desk clerks could have been friendlier. Their demeanor was flat - made you feel like they could card less if you were there or not. I worked the the front desk at Ohare Marriott - near Chicago and know how important the staff is to a guest s experience when they first check in. I But the staff in the breakfast lounge were great-

The food voice was not the greatest. Maybe offer plain potatoes or hash browns and regular breakfast sausage patties or links. My food allergies made it hard to eat anything and my husband just scraped his sausage and potatoes in the garbage. I did read some reviews on others not happy with potatoes and sausage, so if you really do care about my input and others maybe change that. The coffee and orange juice was good. We feel we way over paid for the room. We do appreciate that if was clean but almost 3 times the amount than during the week was a bit much. Almost $300 for 17 hours

The property was very well-run and well designed. They have recently underwent a full renovation of the property, changing from a Ramada to Wyndham Garden Inn. It is much nicer now, and the hotel has a teal and green theme throughout. It’s very pretty and I appreciate all of the small touches, like a neon sign with a backdrop for photos and subtle teal designs in all of the rooms. They have a little snack shop with fairly priced goods and even some free coffee and tea. There is a little bar area as well where they serve breakfast in the mornings. All of the staff are very friendly and the manager Julie was kind to us. The rooms were good and had ample space, along with alarm clocks and plenty of charging ports. The Wi-Fi was easy to connect to and worked well, even when my phone’s cellular data was giving me spotty coverage. They also now have an elevator which seems brand new and works well. The bathrooms also have LED backlit mirrors which I personally love and help to show the elegance of the property. There is great social spaces throughout the hotel, and various couches and places for people to sit. I was only by the pool for a little while but it seemed nice. Walking distance from Walmart and a few other stores and about 20 minutes from Chestnut Mountain.

The TVs are a bit dated and it doesn’t seem like they were part of the renovation. I hope they update those soon, as for $200 a night I want to watch Netflix on my TV. The breakfast is fine, but I would have loved a little bit more variety, like more fresh fruits or smoothies. Lastly, I miss the warm cookies they used to have back when it was a Ramada. It was such a nice touch that I used to love and hope that they can find the heart to bring back. Especially at the increased price point, I’m sure a few cookies wouldn’t do much to harm their overall profitability. Otherwise not too many complaints and we had a nice stay.

The welcoming staff were wonderful! They were also incredibly accommodating. They even offered to get ice for our room They also recommended restrestaurants. The building was spotless. And there is a day spa. Our room was clean, good sized, and the bed was awesome. The pool, hot tub, and outdoor patio was so nice to relax in. The location to downtown Galena was perfect. Checkout was quick. We would definitely go back again.

NOT A COMPLAINT I would just love to have had the salsa left out at room temperature. Salsa has so much acid from the tomatoes it would be fine setting out for hours. That way, if you put it on your eggs they won't get cold. 🙂

Our thermostat was broken, you could not adjust it. It was freezing in our room. The manager tried to fix it unsuccessfully. Being the start of a weekend he couldn’t get a tech to come out right away. We did get a monetary compensation for the trouble which was satisfactory for us.

Clean, easy to get around, bright and cheerful looking, good and free breakfast most days (no Mondays), nice little Indulge shop and charming comfy deck level one. Also sink in room outside the one in bathroom was a great help! Easy parking

Housekeeping totally skipped us one day. Free hot water in lobby always cold at night. Not the hotel’s fault, but a distance from historic sites and Main Street. Unfortunately US 20 was under a lot of construction. But still was easy enough access.

We loved our room - so spacious and comfortable, For the price, it was unbelievable- fireplace, hot tub and even comfy bathrobes. We also walked the grounds which were lovely. My husband loves to swim, so he was crazy about the huge swimming pool. Even I swam because it was just the right temperature.

A wonderful hotel close to the center of Galina IL and close to Dubuque Iowa. A big nicely furnished room with many electric outlets, a mini fridge and a microwave. A big indoor pool with warm water. Breakfast until 10 am. Very affordable.

The bathroom could benefit from a night light. The hot tub was a bit too hot for my taste, but I am not an expert.

Location and cleanliness. Extra sink in bedroom was a plus. Updates that were done looked nice. Front desk staff greeted us when we arrived.

Rooms should be updated for the price. There are carpeted baseboards, old shower inserts, and walls in bathroom were not in good shape by the mirror. Entrance is slippery when it’s raining, almost fell. Front desk staff should know if wineries are open and more about the area for people coming from out of town for tourism.

Everything the hotel friendly and helpful the young lady at the front desk. Staff always cleaning. Nice swimming pool and hot tub. Amazing breakfast and the young lady checking that everything was in order for us and the oder people. Friendly and good atmosphere. Next time we going to stay longer. Thank you

Just the coffee but the juice was excellent. Little stronger. But everything was exelente. Relaxing
