Great themed hotel just west of downtown Galena. Room and bathroom very clean. Large indoor pool and hot tub area was exceptional. Breakfast area well kept and decent choices. Coffee was DELICIOUS and available 24 hours in the lobby along with Keurigs in the room. Full bar off lobby open until 11pm. Staff was super friendly and very helpful (esp.Teresa/Front Desk). Strong wifi. Grocery store, Mickey Ds and very good Mexican restaurant easy walk across parking lot.

Instead of one chair with ottoman in regular rooms, a small 2-seat couch would be more comfortable for a couple.

The front desk staff was excellent. The breakfast was excellent. The room was large and comfortable. The place was quiet. The wi-fi was good.

Very difficult to plug in electronics because there are not enough outlets or USB ports built into lamps, etc. This hotel was built before the electronics revolution and it has not been upgraded to accommodate devices efficiently. The hotel is quite large and has no elevator. The pool is too small for the potential number of guests. I saw 2 adults and 3 children in it and immediately thought it would be too crowded if any more people entered.

Clean, comfortable and charming with very friendly staff.

We prepaid Booking.com for the best rate. At check-in we forgot we had prepaid and let the manager enter our information. She charged us a much higher rate. When we showed our Booking receipt, she reduced it but it was still over the Booking rate. We planned to review our online info and correct it later. What we found was that we’d been charged twice, the price that Booking charged our card plus the higher amount the manager had entered. Upon checking out, Theresa, the supervisor, was able to correct the charges. A few days later the system was corrected and the charge was dropped from our card. The parking lot entry and exit is very dark and easy to miss. When exiting to the street it would be easy to run over the berm or into the hydrant.

The inn was a good cozy place all around. Whether it was the fireplace, the minibar, the fitness areas, or the swimming pool everywhere was a feel good experience even with the descent amount of patrons visiting that weekend for Cheatnut mountain. They accommodated us with their cafeteria turning into a game room for our first night as a family together

There wasn’t much not to like I don’t think. I Spent most of the time in the main areas w family and friends. The upper balcony had a few other family groups playing family game night and were running the games back so they were encamped in that upper area. Was it good or bad? Neither in my opinion just a change of scenery from spending months in Chicago!

I liked the pancake maker. They were cooked perfectly. The rooms were cozy and well insulated. Our dogs barely stirred when doors slammed in the hallway.

The floors weren't vacuumed under the beds. We had to look under the bed for my husband's keys and noticed pieces of candy and other items on the floor. We were concerned if our dogs ingested them.

This hotel has everything you can ask for. The front desk staff are very personable and informative. I loved having complimentary coffee and water available. The breakfast that was included was very good, and the lady attendent did such a great job of replenishing everything. The rooms are beautiful and welcoming. We had a jacuzzi, fireplace, coffee machine, microwave and refridgerator in our room(excellent). The housekeeper did an excellent job of taking care of our room. We will definately be back. This hotel is wonderful and relaxing.

Breakfast was so so, powdered eggs that were salty on both mornings, the potatoes were cold both days, the pankcake maker was awesome though. our room was very nice and we could park not far from the entrance on that level. the fireplace and jacuzzi tub were awesome.

room was dark so I had to pull chair close to window to apply my makeup, the 2 lights in the bathroom were not close to the shower and it was not very bright in the shower. I wasnt aware that propane was in use, and I dont care for the smell of it.

All the front desk staff was very nice and extremely helpful. Housekeeping personnel were very nice also. Great location. Breakfast was good. Room comfortable.

The lady that was overseeing of breakfast was extremely unfriendly. Did not great people when they entered the dining area, never even saying good morning. When telling people that the dining area would be closing soon, never made eye contact with anyone, just very matter of fact.

Such wonderful staff! Both front desk managers were exceptionally friendly - one of them even helped solved our problem about locking keys in the car! Large room, good coffee, nice breakfast, fun bar attached to the hotel, and we loved the local town of Galena (we walked into town which took about 30 minutes through a residential neighbourhood with old houses).

we are used to more stylish decor, but enjoyed the friendly welcoming vibe
