Jan and Lorraine were fabulous hosts and made you feel right at home. The breakfasts were delicious. We enjoyed the homemade chocolate chip cookies each evening. We also liked sitting outside on the balcony. The location was on a main road but far enough off the road to make it feel quiet and private. It's definitely a place we would like to visit again in the future.

This was an old farmhouse so you have to climb fifteen stairs to get to your room. The rooms are decorated nicely but as people age, it will be more difficult to get to your room.

The hosts were very welcoming and greeted us at the door. The property is charming, filled with antique details, furniture, books, and decorations. The breakfast was tasty, and it was a cool experience to eat at one table with the other guests. It was a good opportunity to discuss what to do in Galena; everyone had something to share. Also, little touches like a complementary snack basket, coffee, and waters was really nice. The room (canopy suite) was spacious

As much as we love old stuff, I think the bed should be changed out. It was creaky, the mattress worn, and the decorative pillowcases yellowed with age. I would keep the bedposts and the canopy, but rig them up to a fresh new bed frame and mattress, and invest in some new linens.

The room was awesome. Loved the jetted tub and the balcony. I had prepared a nice dinner for my boyfriend and I and Cass let me use her kitchen to reheat some items. Cass is amazing and delivered scratch made hot cookies to our room. Very sweet gesture. I would 100% stay there again when shopping in Galena.

It’s a little tough finding the entrance as it’s not really clearly marked at the driveway. I was almost rear ended waiting to make the turn into the property.

The breakfasts were delicious and I enjoyed talking with the other guests about their travels. The mansion was easy to find and was a walk back in time. It reminded me of staying with grandma and I was greeted with homemade cookies in my room. I loved it and right away I felt like family. There is a small fridge and coffee areas available and snacks ready anytime of the day or night. One night it rained so I went out on the upper porch, sat in a chair and watched the beautiful scenery. It was a fantastic! I definitely want to stay again in another of the beautiful rooms. Jan and Lorraine and my time in Galena will always be a treasured memory.

A really lovely B&B with a most welcoming and friendly host who makes you feel instantly at home and comfortable. The location is a little out of town but it is quick to reach both Galena and Dubuque, and it means you have no trouble parking outside the house and at no cost and you get a quiet night! The house is full of character and our room was a good size with a very nice bathroom and all the facilities you could need either in the room or just on the landing (fridge, coffee etc). Snacks and drinks were available for free at all times. Our bed was very comfortable and the house was all very clean and cosy. We had a really lovely night's stay and the delightful room was really excellent value for money which included a simple but very pleasant breakfast.

Loved that it was built in the 1800’s. We were celebrating our 41st anniversary and took the largest room which was wonderful retreat! We enjoyed the whirlpool 2 person tub and the fireplace on a cool night. Has a private balcony with a small table and chairs. Steve & Cass were perfect hosts and their children adorable. We will definitely come back if we travel back through this area which is beautiful.

The house was beautiful, just a short drive from Galena. All the rooms are individual with a great view. Good beds.The hosts Cass and Steve are always there to answer any questions and create a nice atmosphere, specially at the big breakfast table. .The breakfast was delicious, we loved the cinnamon roll french toast. we had an overall great stay.

The property itself is just beautiful, this is a fabulous home with amazing grounds.The hospitality that we received from check in to check out was exceptional… The owners Cass and Steve really are doing what they love and you can tell…

There wasn’t anything that I did not like.. I would most definitely stay there again if ever in Galena…

Cass is an amazing host, She was so kind with remembering our anniversary, complete with a card and gift. The breakfast was delicious all 3 mornings. We hope to come back because we felt so welcomed and safe.

The bed was a bit hard and I was not a fan of the flat pillows, but that is only my liking of fluffy pillows.

We loved the comfortable and private bungalow - felt like our home away from home! And most importantly Cass & Steve were the most gracious hosts. We had so much fun getting to know them and the other couples during the delicious breakfast.

At night it could be hard to see the entrance.
