Although compact, the room was well equipped and the bathroom a decent size. Warm weather so appreciated windows which opened and a view over the gardens to the rear. Good location with constant stream of buses and bus stop outside into the city centre. The staff were friendly and efficient and a small problem with the shower was quickly sorted. We had breakfast on two mornings. Good selection of hot and cold items, lots of coffee and proper mushrooms and tomatoes. No problem parking at the rear of property. Plenty of places to eat and drink. Old Headington to the north of London road is like walking into a rural village and has two very nice pubs.

A little road noise, even in the garden-facing rooms but probably not an issue if closed.

The accommodation was excellent, the rooms were clean, and the staff was very friendly. I didn’t encounter any problems, and the safety measures were great. Each guest receives a key for the outside door since there is no 24-hour reception, unlike other hotels. However, I do have one concern that I hope will be addressed in the future: verifying the identity of guests or providing a contract, as is standard in most hotels. I was surprised that they didn’t check my name or passport, but I didn’t face any issues during my stay. Thank you, and I look forward to staying here again in the future, God willing.

I am very pleased by this stay. The staff at Oxford Guest House was so kind and helpful with both recommendations for dinner and for a nice chat. The breakfast was very delicious (espacially the pancakes!) and it was possible to order English Breakfast in both a traditional way and a vegetarian. The room was comfortable and had almost everything you could ask for. The Oxford Guest House is not far from City Centre, but because of a loooong and big hill, it was quite difficult to just walk to and from. I would therefore recommend to take the bus, which stops right in front of the Guest House :)

If I have to point out a few flaws, it might be that the bathroom was very cold, and there wasn't a knife or a fork in the room. I wanted to eat in one of the evenings and just eat some noodles. I had to take a fork from the common room, but it would be nice to have one available in the room.

Our room was very clean and the beds were comfy. I loved the decaf teabags as no other guest house I have stayed in has supplied these. The staff were so friendly and even let us use the toilet once we returned from town. Breakfast was good with many choices. When we asked for milk there were many different ones to choose from including Lactose free. The guest house is very convenient place to stay as there is a bus stop outside with frequent buses into the town centre and station. It’s great value for money. I would definitely stay here again.

A few minor things. The bedside light in our room did not work but it was too late to tell anyone by the time we returned in the evening. There is a timed light in the bathroom which stays on for around 5-10 minutes which can be distracting if you get up in the night. The light also automatically went off when we were in the shower so you are in the dark until you open the shower door.

Lovely friendly hosts... We had room 5 which was cosy. The view is of the house next door so you do need to have your blinds down if you don't want people looking in and the road is a bit noisy if you have the windows open but the room was clean, had everything you need and well equipped. Location is excellent. Buses run every 5 minutes to Oxford from just outside the accommodation or you can have a 10 minute walk into Headington.

Nothing really. Bit noisy from the road traffic but nothing you can do about it. Either wear earplugs or keep your windows shut.

I usually stay in chain hotels and have not stayed at a small guest hotel before, however I chose the Oxford Guest House as the description said there was a bus stop outside for busses to Oxford. It is in an excellent location, good breakfast, friendly staff and the beds comfortable. The information pack was the best I have seen anywhere, with information on local places to eat and shop.

The staff were very friendly when we first arrived one of the staff members offered to carry our luggage up the stairs. The guest house was comfortable and the parking was free. Near the guest house is the bus stop which takes you to the city centre which takes 20 minutes. I recommend anyone to stay in the guest house and we would definitely visit again

The only issue was the noise on the main road since the guest house is based near the road however we still slept okay

I had a room at the back of the house on the top floor. It had everything I needed. I could see my car parked in the car park. There was no street noise as I was at the back off the road. Breakfast choice was good. I was greeted with a warm welcome. Tea and coffee tray were plentiful. Fresh milk was also provided. There was a mini fridge and a microwave in the room. Good bathroom and great shower with shower gel and shampoo provided in dispensers. Breakfast was plentiful, and the quality of the food was fine. I don't like hard poached eggs.! It was an easy quick drive to the John Radcliffe hospital, the purpose of my stay.

My room was a little tired. Clean but tired. The mattress probably could do with replacing instead of having a thick topper on. The room door rattled if I had the window ajar for fresh air, and I think for a solo female traveller, the door lock could be a more substantial one. Maybe just add a simple bolt. I requested poached eggs at breakfast. These were disappointing. They must have been cooked in a microwave container and were hard! Poached eggs shouldn't be like hard-boiled eggs. Everything else was lovely, though.

Great hosts, very helpful, plentiful breakfast with lots of choice , well situated for buses to many places , nice selection of shops, coffee shops, eateries, pubs/restaurants within a few minutes walk and a park nearby. The guest house is also within walking distance approx 15mins to the JR Hospital which is great as the parking at the hospital is a nightmare! There's also a bus stop right near to the guest house where you can catch a bus to the hospital for a reasonable charge or a taxi will still be cheaper than the parking charge if you could actually find a space to park)! My room was quite compact with single bed, wardrobe , desk, small bedside table, a large window, a nice sized shower room/toilet. There was a fan in the room, a TV, kettle and hospitality tray, a hairdryer, plus charging equipment for most mobile phones just incase you've forgotten your charger, which I thought was a great help. Shower gel, shampoo and hand soap are provided. There is underfloor heating in this room which kept it to a nice temperature. The towels are air dried, (so not soft & fluffy) but good for the environment, and surprisingly I quite enjoyed the change. I'd happily recommend this guest house to everyone

Reception……so important………..rooms were so good for short stay family reunion & our transport on to other family locations. Transport links …vital….and here public transport is fantastic…second to none…..bus stop nearby… and so easy to get to wherever in Oxford or in easy reach. Our son enjoyed the breakfast, I benefitted from the flexible service which enabled me to have a seriously drinkable complimentary coffee. Overall, this oasis needs maximum plaudits for service with a smile, and such Relapsing accommodation for the incoming traveller from abroad.

Toilet accessories , the toilet roll holder needs to be changed. It doesn’t work. Think simple. It works best. Check out the sound on the to.. why is background music, …. Suddenly foreground music ?
