Pickwicks Guest House is a charming and convenient place to stay in Oxfordshire. It's just a short walk from the bus stop with direct access to the town centre, making it easy to get around. The guest house itself is a unique blend of two detached houses joined together, featuring tasteful decor and a beautiful back garden that adds to the peaceful atmosphere. Our room was nicely decorated, and the bed was soft and comfortable—perfect for a good night's rest after a day of exploring. A simple breakfast is offered each morning, which is a lovely bonus, and the staff are genuinely friendly and accommodating. Overall, a warm and pleasant stay!

We had a pleasant stay overall and really appreciated the hospitality. Just a small note for improvement: the carpet in our room could use a deeper clean, as it looked dirty and worn. I also noticed a small spot on the door that looked like dried blood, which I cleaned with disinfectant. It would be great to have a little extra attention to detail in the cleaning, but otherwise, the place has a lot of charm and potential. Thank you again to the team for their warm welcome!

We use the Pickwick because it's close to our family's house, it's comfortable and it's good value for money. The staff are pleasant, friendly and approachable. Cleaning is very good.

Please also see reviews dated 28/12, 08/04 and 13/02 in 2023, and 27/11/22. The cracked washbasin in room 11 still hasn't been replaced! The toast has now lost even the slight browned tinge it once possessed! The sausage lacked it too! It was a hot, stuffy day and our room, at the front of the property, was noisy with Oxford's 24 hour traffic! But they had thoughtfully provided a good fan for when we decided to shut the window! But it's a nice little B&B (much better than most of the others we have tried) and the staff are lovely!

The room was comfortable and clean, check in was straightforward, everyone was pleasant and helpful, breakfast was generous and tasty, the location is excellent for access to the centre of Oxford.

There was no heating, so though it was sunny in the day, it is still cold at night. Fortunately there was an extra blanket on the bed. I have stayed in room 1 before, and the furniture has been moved around since then. Unfortunately, the new layout makes it difficult to access the wardrobe and doesn't leave as much free space in the centre of the small room. Otherwise it was all good.

I had a great stay at Pickwick's guest house. It is a 15-20 minutes bus ride out of the main city center and easy to get to and from attractions. The staff were excellent, accommodating and friendly. I was able to store my luggage before and after checking in and out, which meant I had extra time tp explore. They even took my bags up to my room while I was out, which was nice. The breakfast was great too and the room had it's own tea and coffee station. The bathroom was spotless and I never had to wait to use it even though it was shared with another room.

The bed wasn't the most comfortable, but it did the job. Other than that everything was fine.

Fab stay! friendly and very helpful staff. clean, warm, room and en-suite. nice sized rooms too. Great breakfast with plenty of choice & nice dinning area. close to the shops and places to eat. We had appointments at John Radcliffe and the NOC, so perfect location for us and staying here completely took the stress out of travelling back and forth on the same day, we just relaxed the night before. My little one loved the garden and we had a great view of it from our room. We bought an extra pillow after reading the reviews but there was spares in the top of the wardrobe and a blanket if needed, also a fan in there too. Slept well, comfy bed, tea, coffee, biscuits etc in the room. Shampoo and shower gel & hand wash in en-suite. Everything we needed. Initially on arrival The windows were old in our room and I was worried we’d be cold with thin curtains but as soon as the heating came on we were lovely and warm! even though it was freezing out side. A lot of the other windows have been updated. So don’t be put off. I will definitely be returning to stay.

I really enjoyed my stay, a couple of nights for work. Breakfast at the hotel is perfect. They offer a variety of fruits, hot breakfast items like scrambled eggs and bacon, as well as a selection of cereals, yoghurt and juices. The staff are super friendly and on it, and get you breakfast really quick even with a full dining room. As for the room, it was spacious and comfortable, with all the amenities you need, like tea and coffee and a mini-fridge and a nice bathroom. The bed was comfy, making it easy to get a good night's sleep. Overall, a very relaxing and enjoyable stay!

Great location in close proximity to JR as well Churchill hospital. The room was clean and staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was really nice.

The room was little bit tired, could do with some refreshing but was clean. It’s an old house so you can hear your neighbours and creaky floorboards. If you are a light sleeper then take earplugs with you.

Lovely friendly welcome upon arrival The room was clean and comfy, beds were a little creaky . We stayed in room 7 which was a twin room, whilst a little tight on space around the beds it was still good. Fresh towels and toiletries on the bed which was nice. The en suite was very roomy and clean if a little outdated which didn't really bother us. Lovely coffee and tea options in the room with biscuits too. Breakfast was nice although no option to how your eggs are served which again was not a big issue. More toast would have been nice but again not a problem, coffee was lovely and fresh served in a cafetiere. Only stayed one night but would definitely stay again, for an easy 15 min taxi journey into central Oxford. Overall 9/10 Thank you

Of all the places we stayed in the UK, this was the only place with a fridge in the room, the beds were very comfortable, breakfast was great, the room size and bathroom size was great. We stayed in way more expensive places that did not offer what Pickwicks did, and for the money it well and truly exceeded our expectations. Great location, easy to get into town (I walked and caught a bus back but only because I was running late), great food options in walking distance - the Brittania Inn was excellent and really well priced. I have not a single negative comment about this place, wish all the places we stayed had been as good.

breakfast was excellent. I ate out in the garden which was lovely. The room was small but perfect for me as I was alone. The shower was excellent. It was quiet. The reception was very friendly. I left an item behind and it was waiting for me when I went to collect. Check in was quick and really warm welcome. Check out was just as simple. All in all an excellent stay. Thank you

I would prefer the garden to have been smoke free. Otherwise my stay was great,
