It got better and better. At the entrance the hotel seemed very traditional. The staff were friendly and very helpful, especially Zoltan who very effectively sorted out a booking problem (not caused by the hotel) Then we got our room and we were very pleased to find that it had obviously been recently fully modernised and refurbished. Enough space, very comfortable bed, well equipped and provided with a nice selection of teas and coffee (there was a coffee maker) and biscuits. We were especially pleased to find a glass stopper bottle of lovely local fresh water. Much better than the environment wrecking plastic bottles. There was a good en-suite shower/wc and the whole room was well presented and clean. Good value too Would definitely book again

Nothing really. Not if you like “traditional” Scottish hotels.

It was friendly, affordable with a super comfy and clean bed and was very quiet. I had a great night's sleep.

Being 'upgraded' to a double room in the main building from a 'twin room' in the annexe. It's not an upgrade if it does not include the basics you required (e.g twin beds) and could have been told this at the desk. The same happened to my brother and son also but they did not object so much to sharing so just went with it. I am sure this is what the hotel was hoping. If you really want a twin room make it clear. We did get moved to a different room.

The staff were super helpful with local knowledge and supporting any queries and requests we had. The location is ideal as it is in the village close to all walks, shops, cafes/bistros and cathedral. It was very economically priced and good value for money. The rooms were also very cool even when the temperatures were high outside! It also has lots of free parking - which can be difficult in the village at peak periods.

There wasn’t anything I didn’t like, I cannot comment on food or food service as I didn’t make use of these facilities.

Location value for money

Firstly i would return for a visit Have stayed many times before . Arrived wrong room allocated, booked months ago booked and paid for family room . Quickly sorted. Not enough staff. The 2 staff that were seen on duty the days we stayed were trying to do their best, but with a busy bar etc other quests were complaining about the wait to be served. The rooms were tired but clean, however, the communal areas corridors/ stairs were in need of a clean. Other guests were openly complaining about the temperature of the food.

The location was excellent for me as I signed up to take a battery of classes for the Niel Gow Fiddle Tune Festival and all of my classes were held in one of the conference rooms in the hotel. Plus, this hotel is very conveniently located to all of the other events that went on during the festival, so much so that I didn't need my rental car at all as everything was reachable on foot.

Nothing.

Property was located centrally in the town and provided us with a base during our trip for a wedding near Dunkeld. Staff were great, special thanks to the hotel manager for his hospitality.

Nothing, however double check when you book that you are booking into the hotel and not the annex out the back. The annex was fine for us but can imagine some people would rather be in the main hotel.

Beautiful historic and characterful building in the centre of Dunkeld. As with all older buildings it does need a little tlc but the room was spotlessly clean, lovely clean sheets and towels. The staff were extremely friendly and the food was excellent. Breakfast was generous and well cooked. We had salmon and scrambled eggs and the pancakes

Being really picky the curtains did not fit the window and there were gaps. In the bathroom there was a product dispenser in the shower but this was empty (I had my own so no worry) but the slight let down was the cheap part used hand wash - if it was decanted into a soap dispenser it would have looked better. Didn’t fit.

Good for a stop over and great location

Lacked the welcoming feeling, although the staff we encountered were very nice. Breakfast was not good, had run out of certain breakfast items in the full breakfast and as supplies were not being replenished quickly enough, we had to ask for most things, cups, plates, sauce, bread, butter and there was no separate milk for cereal, just the 2 medium jugs of milk for the coffee and tea and they were practically empty!!! Only one table was available for 4 as the others had not been cleared of dirty crockery when we went down for breakfast at 9.30 - staff did the best they could but not good enough unfortunately - Not a great experience.

It was ok I think probably short staff. Very little water in urn and not very hot. No white bread was finished.

I had supper. I had chicken had to wait ages and when I got it I think had been under the heat lights as the outside was hard it would have been nice but overdone and dry but sauce was lovely. I think again short staff. I think it would have been lovely but I think they forgot it.

Lovely relaxed, welcoming and friendly. Great location, clean and nice bar and outside seating area. Great value for the price. Jackson in the bar was really friendly, chatty and helpful.

We had to go down and ask for toilet roll as wasn’t refilled in the morning. Also no hairdryer in the room so had to ask at the bar. Restaurant put bacon on vegetarian breakfast request.
