All staff very helpful & friendly from the time we arrived until we left, very engaging, helped with bags Meals were very good, mix of your normal & a la carte, service was exceptional, so friendly, knowledgable, helpful & the dining areas were very comfortable & & inviting Rooms were comfortable, roomy & clean - old building so expect some quirks but that adds to the charm of the place The hotel interior decor is very inviting, comfortable (particularly if it was wet/cold outside) & has the most amazing decorative style - fun, abstract, love the dog art. Nice to enjoy an area that feels intimate & cosy instead of cold, uninviting areas without any nice seating, ambience. What a joy to enjoy dinner in comfortable chairs not some modern cold metal/wooden chairs The bar/dining by the river is a must (during warmer months) such a unique area but in close proximity to hotel
Small things - be careful in shower, very slippery (but a mat is provided), very little space to hang towels, clothing in shower Seems to be a thing with hotels just now but no top sheet on bed, we were there during a warm spell & the quilt was far too warm but there was no alternative

This is an old hotel which has been modernised to a very high standard. Our bedroom was lovely with a great shower and comfortable bed. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious as well. This is a dog-friendly hotel which is fine if you are a dog lover but perhaps not so great if you are not…..however, I asked for a dog-free room and that wasn’t a problem.
There is no lift so people should be aware that there are a lot of stairs to climb to the second floor. The staff were happy to carry our suitcase up for us though. Also, the hotel is very dog friendly - something to be aware of if you have an allergy.

The hotel was lovely, great ambience and the staff were really good. Prior to the stay I received a call to explain the room type, ask if we wanted dinner booked and a chat about how breakfast worked. The staff were great and the lounge was great for a quiet drink
The food was unexpectedly poor. The sharing starter was lovely (flatbread) however everything else was really below par. I had the seafood basket that was essentially frozen seafood that had been deep fried and was tasteless. The cheesecake wasn't fresh either and my partners burger was a little over cooked. The eggs with breakfast were overcooked also. Really disappointed in the food. I would stay again, but go out into the village to eat.

The location is superb. Dunkeld may be small, but being right in the heart of it provided excellent travel connections and breathtaking scenery. While we didn’t dine there in the evenings, the breakfasts were outstanding. The service was swift, the food delicious, and the ambiance ideal for starting the day right. The highlight of our stay was the staff. From booking to departure, they were consistently pleasant, helpful, and proactive in ensuring our stay was perfect. On multiple occasions, I even saw staff assisting non-residents with directions and advice, showcasing their extraordinary commitment to hospitality. This experience reflects not only the dedication of the staff but also the exceptional culture the hotel has nurtured over the years. The Atholl Arms Hotel and its team are truly the heart of the local community and a standout example of excellent service for visitors.
Difficult to think of anything really. The plug sockets in our room were too close to the ground which made plugging some items in more difficult than it had to be. We even had to avoid a plug socket entirely as there wasn't enough room for the cable. ...that's about it.

Evening meal was obtained here at extra charge, the food was wonderful as were the staff. I think drinks were a little pricey but probably on a par for a hotel of this standard. The room was large, facilities excellent and they provided a bed, bowl and welcome pack for our dog who was even made a fuss of, water bowl and carpet mat for him to use while we had evening my eal and breakfast. We were fortunate enough to be able to a spot in the hotels private parking spot so for us that was not an issue. Location great being in the town and close to the river with a wonderful riverside bar and covered seating in area complete with large screen TV. No issues with this hotel, we ended our holiday on a high, thank you.
Nothing found to complain about.

Cozy and comfortable property.
We were 2 couples both booked in the same category room and ended up in rooms next to each other. Our room was beautiful, but our bathroom was tiny. Shower, sink and toilet in a tiny corner bathroom of probably 2 sqm2 with no space at all to even put toiletries. Our friends next door had a bigger room and their bathroom was super large, with bath, large sink and shelving for towels etc. Feels unfair to have to pay the same price for 2 such different rooms.

Everything about the Atholl Arms was wonderful. The Staff were very friendly and helpful from the minute we entered the hotel. The accomodation was fresh, tasteful ,modern and comfortable. The food was excellent. My wife is coeliac and she was well catered for.
I`m not a dog person but we wanted to stay at this hotel because of it`s location. In the end it was not a problem for me. All the dogs( and the owners) were well behaved and you didn`t know they were there!

The staff and the location were excellent. Breakfast cooked fresh and was very nice. The beer garden is a bonus in nice weather, very relaxing sitting by the river.
The noise in the room from the road, but it does calm down through the night. Some of the food prices a bit high but when getting delivered to your table at the river, I suppose could be justified.

Gorgeous and great locations set right on the river. We had drinks on the river bar here and dinner in the restaurant. Food and service was excellent. The room was really pleasant having recently been renovated. Lovely modern but in keeping interior and a huge lovely bathroom. Staff were really polite and helpful. Highly recommend the hermitage walk and the land rover experience.

Breakfast was very good. Excellent selection. Very central location.
We did not like the winding stairs.Precarious when carrying suitcases. We booked a King Garden View room, but unfortunately we were given a Small Double with a River View. Room very good apart from small bed. Very noisy with it being at front of hotel. Single glazing,no secondary acoustic glazing.
