There's a lot to like, staff and location for a start. The room was very clean, comfortable with a good bathroom. Plenty of room for parking, good TV and wifi. The breakfast was excellent, very generous. It really is dog-friendly; there's even a pet owners dining/ breakfast room. Other reviews mention traffic noise but we couldn't detect any. We felt it was sensibly priced with nice facilities.

Worth noting that if you're travelling with a pet, it's £28 per stay. The dinner I had was poor (although my partner's was fine). The meat pie had poor pastry, not very much meat inside and I don't know how the chef managed to make such appalling mashed potato. Of all the times I've had mashed potatoes in different hotels and restaurants, it was the worst that I've ever experienced.

We were in the separate cottage over the way from the main building. It was immaculately clean as requested re our allergies. Apart from that, the shower needs fixing before it falls off the wall and the shower head needs replacing. The bathroom is real tiny and to the right as you go through the front door. To get to the bedroom you have to go all the way to the other end of the cottage. Can't think why they didn't put a door from the bedroom into the bathroom. Speaking of the bedroom, the mattress is of poor quality. Certainly not of hotel quality. Apart from that it was quiet and you could not hear any noise from either the work being carried out on the bridge or from the traffic. The waitresses were the best and most attentive. The manager never changed his clothes the three days we were there and looks very unkempt for his self imposed pompous Laid position!

See above.

Regular and love it for the value and location

Received Haggis Neeps and tatties in the restaurant which wasn’t the best, the haggis was slices and like rubber and tasteless, we didn’t really touch it and were asked if ok to which we were honest but polite.. however replacement or refund or even an offer of a refund was never offered, we were told “we will tell the chef when in next” not good enough and a bit of a shock as we visited for our 5th time and certainly haven’t experienced anything like this previously..

The location was great and the food good. The room was satisfactory but overlooked the beer garden which was not good for privacy when the garden was in use. The waiting staff were very kind, attentive and helpful, especially the Romanian couple working in the hotel.

We were unaware we did not have breakfast included in the price of the room. We also had to pay quite a significant charge for our dog- more than we have ever paid before. This made the cost of the accomodation more expensive than we anticipated.

It was in a good location for our requirements.

We booked the cottage but didn’t realise that it was beside a busy road and so had a lot of traffic noise. After booking to stay on a Tuesday it wasn’t until we booked a time for dinner that we were informed that the restaurant was closed on a Tuesday but a pizza menu would be available. However when we turned up at the time we had booked, it was to find that the full menu was on after all. This was all a bit confusing! The breakfast was HUGE!!! Maybe a choice of smaller portions would have saved us from causing waste!

Loved the location, in a quiet spot out of the way, but not far to travel to Blairgowrie,8 miles and Pitlochry, 20 miles. We like being away from busy towns so the setting was ideal for us, but wouldn’t suit everyone as it is in an isolated area. (And if you’re looking for highland “coos”, the road to Blairgowrie from the hotel is the place to see them!). The staff are all extremely friendly & made us feel very welcome. The Scottish breakfast was huge! Even my husband struggled to pack that lot away, & that just doesn’t happen!! The breakfast menu was excellent, one of the best we’ve seen! We had dinner twice & that was excellent too! We had room 12, which was facing the garden. I loved the sound of the waterfall, very soothing. The room was light & airy, the bed was very comfortable & there was plenty of storage space. We would definitely stay again!

Nothing to gripe about here, we loved it!

Superior room spacious with large bathroom. Good views. Comfortable bed. Very good food. Excellent choice of breakfast. Friendly helpful staff.

Dinner tables too close so others conversations intrusive. Breakfast table by window much better. Didnt like not being able to call and speak with individual about the booking. (Confusion about meal booking time.) Piped music in lounge too loud. Didnt like that place unmanned before 2-3pm. Awkward when one is travelling.

What a lovely location! Stayed in Toll Cottage which was very roomy, cosy and had a homely feeling. Kitchen was well equipped (but couldn't find a drying up cloth!). Staff were very friendly and helpful on arrival. Great having the walks/river near by. We didn't use the restaurant or Bar but no doubt will as we will definitely be back.

One minor issue is going from bedroom to bathroom in the middle of the night as couldn't put light on in lounge. I just ended up using my mobile phone. We also had problems accessing TV channels ( number 6 worked) but struggled to access them via the Internet. Is there any guidance as to how to get these? Appreciate if we were really fussed we would have asked the hotel staff.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed here. Lovely clean homely hotel. Friendly staff, well decorated, lovely rooms and very good food. Large car park. This is well above the standard for most of the hotels in Scotland. This is a very good example of how ALL Hotels & B & B's should look. Lovely clean, spacious bedroom with en suite (shower in the bath) and tea and coffee making facilities. We only stay here when there is a deal on as I feel some of the prices we have seen for this Hotel are slightly eye watering. We love staying at this hotel.

I'm nit picking here - If we where to stay here paying the maximum price the corridors and bedrooms would need more sound proofing and the showers would need to be a little better. But on the whole we are more than happy with the facilities provided.

Due to work, we were given the option to move from Bridge of Cally to the Angus hotel Blairgowrie at very short notice, this turned out to our advantage. Angus hotel was central for all that we wanted to do.Very quiet. Good parking but need to get there early for front of hotel place and sign in at reception

Shower was a handheld hair washing shower, it was placed high to give more spread but was ineffective. Cleaning staff (1lovely woman) seemed to be very rushed
