August 2025
Me & my wife spent 4 nights at the Logierate lodges ( 3rd-7th Aug 2025) we stayed in 'willow' which is one of the 5 terraced one bedroom lodges. We had hoped for a lovely, relaxing few days away from the madness of big city life...we certainly got that, and so much more. Can honestly not fault a thing about this place. The lodge is a nice size, and a real home from home, I had requested a big bed if possible, and indeed our bed was huge ( and very comfortable) the kitchen had every bit of equipment/ utensil you could need, although we didn't do much cooking, mainly having cereal/ toast etc for breakfast before setting out to discover the unbelievably beautiful local area. There is a little 'honesty ' shop on site, which doesn't have a great deal, but handy if you run out of any essentials. There is a garage/ services a couple mins away that sells most stuff, and the grill house which is part of the services does very decent .food. our first day there coincided with storm Floris( one of the worst summer storms in Scotland for years) late afternoon saw the strongest winds, with lots of branches and bits of shrubbery getting blown everywhere, and the area suffered loss of power for several hours, but the lovely lady from the site came around issuing candles. To be honest, it felt very nice sitting nice and snug in the lodge listening to yhe howling wind, by candlelight. By next morning all was fine, and it didn't take the groundsman long to get the site looking immaculate once more. Anyway, enough rambling..just to say thank you to Logierate Lodges for a wonderful stay..will certainly return, and would recommend 100% to anyone looking for a lovely relaxing stay in an absolutely beautiful part of the world..
Cam honestly say there was nothing to dislike

The two bedroom lodge at Logierait Pine Lodges was spacious and comfortable, providing (largely) everything that we needed. The beds were comfortable and clean, as was the living room with a lovely couch to relax on. The kitchen had everything one would need with a mid-size fridge/freezer, microwave, hob, stove, etc. The location of the lodge is also really wonderful. The river runs behind the lodges and is easily accessed via a walking path. Two national cycle routes depart from nearby the lodges, providing excellent cycling, running, and walking. It is also easy to access many sites like Blair House, whitewater rafting, etc. The owners of the lodges were also really wonderful as they were super responsive to questions/issues. The lodge also has a lovely honesty fridge with milk, etc. and a complimentary washer and dyer.
The water pressure in our lodge was pretty abysmal (photo attached was the best we could get for the shower). Unfortunately it appeared to be an issue that could not be fixed (the owners came to check it out). The low water pressure made taking a shower not so pleasant as it took quite some time to get your hair fully wet (if you have long hair), etc. The lodges are right next to each other, which means that if your neighbors are quiet, then all is good. If your neighbors are sitting out on the small deck talking (and not loudly) and you have your windows open to let the cool air in...well, you will hear them. It was fine, but just something to be aware of.

The Lodge was well equipped although the mugs were a bit small. The beds were very comfortable and everything was very clean. The location was excellent and very well maintained.
The shower was excellent until.our last morning when there wasn't any hot water. Tried calling the number that was in the folder giving all the information about the lodge and also on a separate info sheet but was answered by what sounded like a foreign man who had no idea what I was talking about and no idea about who the two names I asked for were. Also think that some people with a large frame might find using the toilet a bit difficult due to its positioning. It was a shame that we left feeling a bit disappointed after having such a pleasant time.

Absolutely beautiful place. The Lodge, facilities, and area were perfect. You can sit by the river and see a beautiful sunset on the site. I'd advise checking sunset times. The friendly ducks who like to be hand fed are the best part. You can see ducklings at the end of April/May. Staff answered all my questions so fast on the app, and we didn't have to speak to any staff checking in or out face to face. I had an issue with the clothes I packed (I wasn't expecting it to be quite as hot 15°) and asked staff where I could buy some cheap bits for the trip and they happily directed me to the factory shop 20 mins awayao I could get some shorts and sun cream. They also advised some charity shops, although I didn't get the chance to look in. Co-op and Asda express with petrol station are in the same area as shops, Aberfeldy. Public toilets are in Cinema building near Asda. Lots of little cafes, etc. Absolutely beautiful scenery and walks. If you're taking a dog, don't let them drink from the river as a couple of dogs who were there at the same time had a bad belly afterwards. A towel and water bowl are provided for dogs. My only issues were that the shower looks great but sisbt peefom great with pressure and temperature stability. The bedding was too thick for how warm the weather was but was offered extra sheets to use instead. In the one bed lodge, there's a door leading outside, but no window, so a fan would have been great as I like to sleep with the window open a bit. I'm definitely booking again as the value is incredible for the experience, especially when the weather is good! Booking directly through logierait is cheaper than booking.com. ;)

Lovely lodge and site. Easy to find off the A9, close to Pitlochry which is what we needed. It was a very clean and tidy lodge with lots of utensils in the kitchen and personal touches such as folded towels on bed. The WiFi was strong, the tv worked well and decor was lovely. The little highland cow mats were beautiful.
The shower temperature was slightly difficult to get to a nice temperature and the bathroom was cold as couldn’t figure out the heating in it. We arrived late to check in which was easy to follow but it did mean our lodge was cold when we got to it and the heating didn’t look like much but it did heat the lodge sufficiently. That is completely based on our own experience though.

We booked this as a stopover on our way home from our first trip to Skye. We had two pods in Tyndrum and Whitewave which were both lovely in their own way but when we arrived at Logierait we actually felt like we were at home and comfortable and wished we had stayed there for the whole time and used it as a base to explore. I would recommend this to anyone with family and dogs (mind the river my dog got totally pulled out by the current but was fine) 🫣. I would have no hesitation recommending this site to anyone wishing to explore the highlands
The price to bring my dog was a little steep.

So peaceful and beautiful. We didn’t need to speak with the management other than checking in but the lady was very helpful with the few questions we asked. Definitely buy the duck food from the honesty box, it’s so nice to feed the ducks. The rooms were very clean, very well equipped and quiet. There was an oven and hob, dishwasher, plenty of cutlery, utensils, washing liquid, dishwasher tablets, the all important cork screw, really everything you need. There was enough tea/coffee, milk and sugar to get through the first day but is also sold at the honesty box.
The property and location was perfect. I have nothing bad to say.

The lodge was clean, well equipped and warm. The location was ideal for exploring the area. We went to The Heritage, The Queen's View, Killiecrankie and Pitlochry. Nearby restaurants were excellent.
The toilet cistern took quite a long time to refresh. The flooring in the bathroom was noisy - noticeable during the night! Nothing to do with the lodge but it was disappointing that the Logierait Inn was closed.

The location was beautiful and peaceful. The Lodge was a 1 bedroom adjoining other Lodges, in fact ours was the middle of 5. I was worried it wouldn't be private but it really was. The balcony had a roof over too so you were still able to sit outside even if it was raining. The Lidge was cosy and well equipped and really comfortable. We were very happy there.
Nothing it was amazing.
