When you enter the reception it is lovely, we were then given a tour from Davey, who is lovely. I did get an initial wow factor, however when you look closer you then see a few faults. It was the first time I had booked a five star hotel and will probably not do it again.

We had a castle suite, the table in the room was all marked, the curtains had burn marks on the lining, the shower door did not close properly, the headboard was ripped at both sides of the bed. We went to have a drink at the bar, no staff were there, there is no bell so you need to go to reception to ask for someone to come and take your order. We had dinner and breakfast which was warm, not hot

Staff upon check in was fabulous. Had wonderful dinner at Sandemans and the bartender at the main bar was fabulous. The spa was nice however steam room and outside hottubs not on. The only negative was poor service at the primary restaurant for breakfast. Loved the proximity to trails and walk to the town.

The only negative was poor service at the primary restaurant for breakfast. On day 1 they ran out of kippers and it took 40 minutes to get served. Day two my three companions recieved their meals but staff some how never served mine, and never came back to check on us. Since i had food with the continental breakfast and was not particularly hungry I did not bother due to lack of time to complain about missed cooked portion of the meal.

Incredibly friendly staff. Such a relaxed atmosphere. Everyone is helpful and attentive. The bar staff know their stuff, it is a great place to sit and put your feet up for a coffee overlooking the loch and dam or a pre/after dinner cocktail. All excellent. The food is so good. We ate in the brasserie, just good honest lovely meals, not overly fussy or pretentious. Quality ingredients. The beds are really comfortable and the duvet even big enough for us Scandi types who are used to 2 and not having to share! I have to mention Anna in the spa, she gave me the best massage and facial I have ever had and just instinctively knew what I needed after my morning run. The location is just second to none. This is our third stay and won't be our last.

The only thing was that my bath ran out of hot water when it was only 1/4 full despite there being hot water then in the shower. It would be nice if one could pick loch view from the room menus.

Beautiful location and the staff and food exceptional - Mark the concierge, Marisa(?) in the restaurant - amazing personnel and very considerate and good humoured. Grounds are beautiful .

Poor facilities for me as a disabled person- the shower was over the bath, which I was told on booking, but I said it was ok if use the shower facilities in the spa area. When we got there, the boiler is broken and no hot showers. The lift in the ground floor to the reception area to book into spa has a lift, but the door doesn’t close unless someone pushes it from outside the lift!!!?? The room was too hot, I couldn’t see how to change the temperature. Room requires some TLC - paper peeling, chair legs scuffed etc.

My husband and I liked everything about Fonab Castle. From driving up the drive to approaching the castle was breathtaking .. checking in with such a friendly lady called Stephanie who couldn’t do enough for us. Our woodland room with balcony was spectacular overlooking Loch Faskally and The salmon Larder. The concierge was so welcoming on both days and all the staff were fabulous. The food was 1st class dinner and breakfast and drinks /cocktails in the lounge were delicious. We will be back as Fonab is just a wonderful place to relax and recharge.

Great stay and very relaxing break. The bar and restaurant were ideal, and the staff all friendly and attentive! My feedback would be that you should fix the staff door on the third floor, as we were in Room 304... the constant bang everytime the door shut was unfortunately quite annoying and meant getting a sleep-in during our break wasn't possible. We also had quite an ideal trying to find a car charger that worked in Pitlochry... whilst many were reasonably close, they weren't all working. Ideally your onsite chargers should really be working for a 5star hotel... The spa was lovely and my partner loved her massge. Thankyou and would definitely come back... as long as door fixed and/or not in Room 304 ;)

Room was great, car park access very good, brasserie staff were also good , helpful, etc. my wife’s birthday Prosecco was there to help our celebrations.

I also replied to email comms to have flowers delivered as well, didn’t happen. Not a big deal really,, just a smsll fact. Also I found it strange that the lovely bathroom facilities didnot include a hook/hanger for towels when showering! Strange! I would also have liked better EV charging facilities. Please note very few cars in your car park are Tesla, although I know they are rolling out points across the country. There were a much larger number of standard EVs there with only one, ( not working) charge point. That needs to improve.

Lovely room but bed a little soft for my liking but that's just my personal preference. Had dinner in the evening very good wine was a little expensive but very good. Breakfast was excellent but had to wait quite a long time for the cooked element of it but it was brought almost immediately when I asked the extremely polite and helpful waitress. Spa is very nice and outdoor hot tub was lovely. All the staff were very polite friendly and helpful.

There was nothing I didn't like. Perhaps some signs fir the location of lifts bar etc would be helpful.

From the moment we arrived till we left all the staff made us very welcome and very accommodating. Excellent service from Davie (concierge) he is a real character and a great asset to the team. We had a treatment in the spa, and therapists were so welcoming and helpful, and the treatments we had were of a very high standard. Excellent food and service in the dining area and bar. We needed to get away and chill, relax & and unwind, and it ticked all the boxes. Thank you all so much.

The rooms were beautiful.. exquisite decor, superb amenities, comfortable bed and bedding - everything one might expect in a Castle room.

We decided to indulge ourselves in having room service for the morning of our departure. Both the orders of my son and ours was delayed - his order lost completely. We ended up not having a portable table, so had to make-shift our room by rearranging the furniture and eating off a bureau. And the food was cold. So that experience was a bust.
