Craigvrack is a great family owned & run hotel/bnb with ample parking, about an enjoyable 10 mins walk from center of the high street. Everyone who works here is wonderful. We arrived a little earlier than the standard check-in time, and Lakshmi offered us a coffee while he checked if our room was ready. He apologized that the heating in the room was on a timer and not yet on, however the room was perfectly warm. The room itself was clean and well appointed, overlooking the countryside, but a little small – however this is to be expected in old buildings that have been converted, and you swap a little convenience for the charm of not being in a cookie cutter chain hotel. Breakfast is excellent, with help yourself and cooked to order options that cater for a variety of dietary restrictions. Cidsin is an excellent Indian restaurant in the hotel that is very popular with locals as well as visitors, so it’s advisable to reserve a table. It’s not a standard british ‘curry house’, but serves a fusion of traditional Indian food updated with modern techniques and ingredients, with the emphasis on depth of flavours rather than spiciness or heat. The food and service is outstanding, hence it’s popularity. As previously mentioned the staff is outstanding, both friendly and helpful. We were attending a wedding in Blair Castle, about 15 mins drive away, and asked the owner, Chetan, if he could recommend a taxi company for us to use. He insisted on driving us there himself, which was incredibly kind. You just can’t go wrong with Craigvrack, and Chetan, Lakshmi, Aniket, and the rest of the staff will look after you wonderfully. Pitlochry is a pretty town & very walkable. We particularly enjoyed ‘The Auld Smiddy Inn’ pub. Blair Athol distillery which is Scotland's oldest is in the town & Edradour is in a neighbouring village (but currently closed to visitors). Plenty of hikes & walks nearby, including to the local dam with a salmon ladder.

Staff were lovely. Room spotless. Breakfast was lovely.
We stayed 2 nights and were advised that housekeeping wouldn't go i in between our stay but if we needed anything to just ask. On the 2nd morning we asked for clean towels and told it would be taken care of but never received them. I think this was just a communication issue between housekeeping and reception as everything else was spot on. Earliest sitting for breakfast was 8am which meant we were unable to have breakfast on the 2nd day as we had to travel and as the breakfast is made to order it took some time to come out on the 1st morning we were there. It was worth the wait though.

First night in room 10: the carpet was newer and very plush. Walking in my socks was luxurious when I had to pace the floor. It was a big room. Super clean. Comfortable queen bed. The breakfast menu had the traditional Scottish breakfast along with GF bread that they toasted for me. The second night, I had to move to room #9, downstairs, because I added a night last minute and my room was already reserved. This room was smaller, and the carpet was not new but decent. It had to twin beds, which turned out to be great because a family member joined me. The most wonderful thing was the staff! 1) The reception fellow volunteered to carry my heavy bag upstairs. And when I moved downstairs, a different staffer carried my bag down. 2) We asked a staffer to call the local grocery store to see if my phone was accidentally left there, and then we'd need a taxi to the train station. He said he might be able to take us and asked the owner/ manager who said yes to taking us to the store and train station. 3) The bartender took the extra time to teach my cousin about Scottish whiskey. He explained how to make a hot totty for her sore throat.
Location was only drawback because it was a 10-12 minute walk down the hill to the main street, which meant coming back up was 15-20 minutes for me. (Had no car.)

The property was beautiful and in a fantastic quiet location just a 10 minute walk to centre of Pitlochry. The garden and surrounding areas were stunning. The food was impeccable we had breakfast and dinner. The best breakfast and dinner we have had. Absolutely wonderful. The curry was absolutely beautiful. The most beautiful authentic Indian food we have had. The staff in the hotel were so knowledgable and helpful, helping us choose our meal and explain no by the whole menu. What an amazing experience. We had starters mains and a pudding. Truly wonderful. I would definitely recommend and will be back.
All beautifully perfect.

The hotel is situated in a quiet area of Pitlochry. The bathroom was very spacious. The hotel recommended during our booking that we try the onsite Indian restaurant. We read online reviews which were positive; we decided to have dinner there and would recommend it. We had free breakfast with our booking, which was nice and adequate (continental with hot food)
We had the triple room which was just below the roof, so the single bed was slightly awkwardly positioned. Do take note that there is no elevator. Our room was on the second floor (taking the ground floor as floor zero) and so carrying our luggage up did pose some difficulties.

The lady on reception was very helpful and accommodating. The room was a good size with plenty of storage, TV, kettle, etc, bed was very comfortable and ensuite was clean and seemed to be recently refurbished. Breakfast (which included vegetarian and vegan option) was tasty and served quickly and the waiter in the morning was lovely and friendly. Great location for visiting Pitlochry and for walking local hills (e.g. Ben Vrackie).
Would have liked some decaf coffee or herbal tea options for the room - I probably could have asked but it wasn't a big problem. We didn't get to try the on-site Indian Restaurant (which has great reviews) as it wasn't open as it was Monday (off-season), but there are plenty of other places to eat not far away on Pitlochry High Street.

Having stayed here several times we knew the quality of the rooms . breakfast etc
I was very disappointed to be told on checking in that the bar was closed that night because they were "quiet" - I can understand the restaurant being closed because opening that means needing staff, but as there was a receptionist on duty, surely they could have managed to pour a beer or serve a g and t. Given that the hotel is a good mile to the town ( and up a steep hill on the way back) this put a bit of a dampener on our stay. After a long drive we had intended to spend a relaxing evening in the hotel bar. Obviously this didn't happen.

A slight walk up a hill which may not be ideal for those lacking mobility but only about 5/10 minutes walk from the high street. We were there early so were able to get a car park space but if one wasn’t available, we would have been able to park on the street. The bar and restaurant looked nice but we had booked dinner elsewhere so didn’t get to try. The gentleman who checked us in was at breakfast too and was very pleasant. The breakfast was part buffet and hot food to order, all very nice. Would happily stay again.

The hotel is in a good location not far from the main town only a short walk. The room was very comfortable cosy and warm. Good size en-suite with a large shower and plenty of hot water. Tea and coffee making facilities. Lovely Scottish breakfast. All staff are very pleasant friendly and helpful. There is a free car park at the back of the hotel. They have an excellent Urban Indian Bistro & Gin Bar called Cidsin. We had a delicious meal in their newly furnished restaurant. I highly recommend. Looking forward to visiting again.
