Taj has an issue with guest travelling on an auto rickshaw? arriving late in the night, was unable to get an alternative transportation. the gate has closed for Auto rickshaw!!!! tata don’t know the value of hard work!!!??? those drivers are earned their living with their hard work, better understand that

Loved everything about our stay. Came for the buffet about 30 years ago and 30 years later we stayed. Room comfortable - bed super large and comfy - and quiet. All staff polite, professional and nothing too much trouble. Gym of my own and equipment fine and a lovely view for a jog on the machine! Pool so beautiful. Location as easy as anywhere in a big city to get to places. Lots of hotel life to observe, especially at the weekend. Hotel big enough to have options for food etc but small enough to feel fairly personal. Thanks

All good! Nothing i didn't like

The staff were, without exception, fantastic. Special thanks go to Zoya, the Receptionist who offered us the great upgrade, Shaji, our breakfast waiter who gave us the best tables and had brilliant coffee pouring skills, the bar staff Stephan, Niraj and the guy who made most of our cocktails whose name we didn't get, Bode, our cleaner who has been here for 35 years and took great pride in making the room spotless and Monika, the Receptionist when we checked out. The breakfasts, afternoon tea and cocktails really made our stay, and this was the best hotel experience we had in our four weeks in India. There was a charming heritage feel to the hotel, and the grounds were beautiful. If you get the chance to stay in a suite, take it - it was very special!

Nothing, the whole stay was perfect.

A lovely heritage hotel with a large pool area edged with palm trees. A good place to relax after a busy day in Chennai. Good spa. Colonial rooms are spacious and well decorated with large beds and attractive furnishings - balconies overlooking pool area Passageways are decorated with historical photos and palms which add to the charm of this hotel

The Verandah restaurant was underwhelming , as was the food. Slightly chaotic at breakfast time Service around the pool is minimal The bar was disappointing due to blaring music choice so we did not use

This hotel is in a fantastic location in central Chennai. The breakfast and dinner buffet was absolutely fabulous and definitely worth the money. Throughout our three-day stay, the buffet always had something new and different. The main reason I chose this property was the lovely swimming pool, surrounded by trees, which was perfect for my 6-year-old boy. We spent most of our time in the pool and the restaurant. I have to give a big shout-out to the incredible care and service provided by all the hotel staff - from the check-in, lobby, restaurant, swimming pool, and housekeeping to the spa. They all went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable.

I don't think there was anything that I didn't like about this property. I totally recommend it without any hesitation.

EXCELLENT STAFF, SUPERBLY MANAGED AND BEAUTIFUL CLUB AREA. Charming business hotel with pleasant pool and spa facilities as well as a couple of good shops to nose around! Food was superb and I'm especially appreciative of the Team in NiueNau, Ram Shafi, Dhana and Chef Shanmug who did everything they could to make sure I had a warm welcome and I had sumptuous food! The Reception Staff are outstanding as well as the Team in the Club Room where I enjoyed healthy breakfasts and my wine in the evening. The Staff cleaning the rooms are also superb and made sure my room, linen and towels were always immaculate! Thank you Vikram at Concierge for looking after all my travel needs - see you again soon!

I could have stayed longer!

The staff at Taj Connemara astounds me with their caring nature and their ability to anticipate our needs. We were met by an unaparallelable warmth and courtesy at every stage of our stay, from the reception to the dining at the Verandah. The staff at Verandah were most attentive and kind. We had some lovely food, including mutton rogan josh and chicken curry home-style. We have been coming to Taj Connemara off and on for many years now. We hope to visit again shortly in the near future.

There was nothing to complain of

We had an exceptional stay at the Taj Connemara, Chennai. From the moment we arrived, the welcome staff made us feel right at home, and the check-in process was incredibly smooth. The team ensured we settled in comfortably. A special highlight of our stay was the personalized culinary experience. During high tea, the chef went above and beyond by preparing customized dishes that catered perfectly to our preferences. At dinner, Yuvaraj, Arokyadas, and Shaji truly made our experience unforgettable. They took the time to understand our taste buds and offered a variety of dishes tailored to our liking. They even encouraged our kids to explore different flavors, making the meal enjoyable and engaging for them. What stood out the most was the staff's dedication to engaging with our kids, discovering their food preferences, and then crafting meals accordingly. This attention to detail and care made our stay particularly special. A heartfelt thank you to the entire staff, especially Yuvaraj, Shaji, and Arokyadas, for your exceptional service. You truly made our stay memorable.

Great breakfast options, staff were so kind and helpful. Swimming pool was great, had a massage and enjoyed the new years celebrations! Particular thanks to: divakar who was manning the swimming pool, very kind to take part in some ball games with our boys. Also very pleasant to talk with. Thanks to staff at the restaurant; all were pleasant in particular: Arockia Daas, Yuviraj and Shiv. They went out of their way to help us, suggest food and even pack sandwich for our long train journey from Chennai.

We loved the old world charm the property exuded, from the paintings on the walls to it's tasteful interiors. The breakfast spread was beautifully presented and the food delicious. Our steward Bhaskaran was exceptionally conscientious and helpful on the mornings he was on duty. On the Sunday we arrived we were delighted to listen to the music provided by a lady singer at the Sunday lunch buffet. It created such a pleasant and relaxing ambience which was a lovely start to our vacation. Monica who we met in the lobby on many occasions was so cheerful and helpful It was lovely chatting with her. Roshni in the salon was one of the most efficient & experienced hair dresser cum beauticians I've met. The salon is well equipped & uses excellent products !

The chairs in the restaurant had rubber grips on the bottoms of the legs and were difficult to move.
