Friendly accommodating staff, excellent breakfast and fab location. Ideal for an overnight stay before catching the ferry and would stay again. Some upgrades are needed, but its also obvious that a lot of effort is being made to keep things as clean as possible and running smoothly until further upgrades can be made. Apartment was bigger than expected and nice and warm on a chilly evening.
The mattress definitely needs replacing, could feel every spring😬,but as we'd been camping previously we put our own bedding over the duvet that was on so we couldn't feel the springs. The mattress was still soft, but we were able to sleep well enough.

The breakfast was excellent — freshly prepared and served with a good variety of options. I had toast and coffee alongside a hearty cooked breakfast with sausage, egg, bacon, and haggis, all of which were cooked just right. The setting made it even more enjoyable — eating in the bright, airy conservatory was a lovely start to the day. It had a relaxed, peaceful atmosphere with natural light pouring in, making the whole experience feel warm and welcoming.
Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the food on this occasion. I ordered the chicken supreme, which took a bit longer to arrive than expected. When it did come, the chicken was very dry and quite tough to cut and chew — it lacked the tenderness I’d normally expect from this dish. My wife chose the pasta, which arrived promptly, but it was overwhelmed by the sauce. The portion of sauce was excessive, and the flavour was a bit too rich and overpowering, which made it difficult to enjoy the rest of the dish. We were hoping for something a bit more balanced.

Perfect location, couldn't have asked for a better view, breakfast was fresh and made to order, evening meal we had the at waterfront hotel, fresh cooked huge portions but right next door to our hotel,; rooms were clean and nothing was an issue for clean towels and toiletries when we needed them, shower was good 👍 as some hotels they aren't very powerful but this did the trick in the morning, we had a main door key which was also good as we could come and go after the staff left without having to worry about times etc, very dog friendly, plenty of water dishes and not just at our hotel, staff were friendly 😀
Only comment u would have is the rooms are very hot with small windows, I am mot complaong aboit weather either but it was abit u comfortable at night, we took our dog with us and him epically found it difficult to cool down but apart from that and may a slight issue with the cistern constantly running all in all was just what we were looking for in a short mid week break

We were upgraded to a 2-bed apartment, Lighthouse View, in the adacent building. This far exceeded our expectations, we had a beautiful view of the beach and lighthouse and everything we could possibly need away from home. The shower was brilliant, with all toiletries available, even dish liquid was supplied. We booked for breakfast and dinner, everything we ordered was exceptional, food was to a very high standard. Staff were lovely and the bar was great to sit in with a drink overlooking the harbour, especially at sunset.
Nothing at all.

The location is perfect in the little village of Portpatrick overlooking the sea. Well run hotel with pleasant, hard working staff. The bedrooms, despite being a bit dated are kept scrupulously clean and our room had a great powerful shower. We had breakfast and dinner twice and all were very good.
We liked everything except the double rooms we were allocated. The rooms and beds were very small for our stay of 6 nights. The hotel was busy so couldnt accommodate a move for us. Best to reserve bigger rooms with twin beds or an apartment.

From the minute we arrived through to the second we checked out. Everything in our stay at the harbour house hotel was nothing short of perfect. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, especially to our two dogs (one of which is very nervous). Our apartment was incredibly spacious and clean and a surprise as we were expecting just a room. The food we had during our stay had to be the best we've ever had on holiday.
There isn't anything really that we didn't like. We will definitely be coming back for a future holiday

Been many times it is the perfect position in Port Patrick ! the staff are lovely very friendly & helpful ! no faults apart from the meal we had on Monday night 26 th ! My friend and I both chose the mixed grill with had a supplement of £7 50p which we wouldn't have minded paying if the meal had been good ! There were small pieces of lamb , chicken , steak , gammon steak soggy onion rings ( no egg ) & the chips were disgusting ( I think they had been heated more than several times !
the property is great ! We will book the Harbour house again & hopefully the food will be better maybe it was an off night for the chef 🤔

Feb 5th to 9th 2025. We were in small flat, perfect for us and our wee sausage dog daisy as back door leads onto grass area. Bed very comfortable. Lounge sofa super comfy with tv& dvd player. Small kitchen with fridge. Dining table and shower room. Lovely and warm. We loved it and would definitely return. 4 stars. Port patrick is beautiful wee village with harbour. We travelled around and last day walked around portpatrick. Stranrar is closest for petrol and supermarkets. We ate from the hotel the first night super expensive...so we ate meals in flat thereafter. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Dog friendly
Food prices. £25 for one fish and chips and bowlsoup [one person] I would have loved a bath but seems places dont do baths anymore...

Great hotel right on the front. After reading some past reviews, I was a bit concerned but it turned out the hotel has changed hands, so was better than expected. This was the first day it had reopened, and many of the staff were new, but they were all very friendly and helpful. On this site it stated a continental breakfast was included during the week, so that's what we expected, seems that has changed too, we had a lovely cooked breakfast, with also the option of cereals, yoghurts etc too. There is street parking around, I imagine it would be more difficult to park in the height of summer.
We asked for and were allocated a sea view room, (number 7) which was amazing, lovely view and 2 chairs and a table at the window. However, the ceilings were very low and there were corners and lower parts all over the room, so my 6ft 2 husband had a bit of an issue at times. Still worth it for the view in my opinion! But maybe check before you book.

It was central to the village. Nice cosy coal fire.Fantastic views of the harbour. We were in the attic room. Lovely porridge.
The bedrooms we’re needing to be cleaned better. Around the skirting boards aren’t cleaned. Showers have black around the base of the door. A tooth brush and bleach would clean it. Bacon was a bit over done.
