The whole inn was mostly clean and comfortable. It was good value for money and felt safe and secure. There were nice people to check us in and it is located close to the sea front (loch front) and to the town. The TV was good and the bathroom was excellent, including the shower.
The internet connection was a bit hit and miss which is inconvenient to say the least. It really needs to just work 100%, but after the first night it was on and off. The connection was a little better in the bar but it's not really acceptable to have such dodgy WiFi these days.

The Swan Inn is a former coaching inn that has had some of its rooms sympathetically and cleverly converted into modern self-contained accommodation. The results are superb and it is a really cool place to stay. It is very convenient for all of Stranraer's attractions, especially the seafront, parks and town centre. Stranraer is stunningly beautiful with incredible sea views, beachfront walks, coastal walks and walks around the marina and pier. The two days I spent there were warm and sunny which such a wonderful location even more appealing. Go and spend some time there - you will totally love it!
I didn't like the fact that there was another guest who walked her dog late at night and very early in the morning. It was creepy to be woken up by the dog snarling and the sound of its paws dragging along the hall corridor in the dead of night. Also this particular guest also tended to shout and talk loudly to other people (staff/other guests?) also late at night and into the early hours of the morning. I appreciate that dogs need to be walked but preferably without disturbing other guests.

It was very easy access for someone with disabilities (we had room 3) It was easy to walk along a corridor with no steps through the bar. Bit harder in the morning when bar closed as had to negotiate a number of steps. The staff were lovely and very friendly and helpful. It was good to be able to eat on site and not have to go out to find a restaurant. The hotel was very generous with their toiletries which we left as we had brought our own but it was a nice touch. I liked the way the single beds were spaced out. I find it hard to share a room but we were far enough away from each other to make it tolerable.
Personally I find a single bed hard but there wasn’t room for larger beds so that was ok - just a personal quirk. There wasn’t enough milk (although extra quickly supplied upon requesting) It would have been nice to have some decaffeinated coffee/tea or hot chocolate as many don’t drink caffeine at night and a pack of biscuits would have been a nice touch - maybe less toiletries and a pack or biscuits and choice of caffeinated or decaffeinated drinks? (I know these things cost)

If you need comfortable, competitively priced accommodation in connection with a Cairnryan ferry, the Swan Inn is the place for you! Our room was spacious and clean and every member of staff was really helpful and friendly (Laura, I believe, with apologies for forgetting any names). Because the Swan welcomes many guests who are using the port, check-out at any hour is made really easy with a key drop box. In summary, our stay was excellent value all round.

The staff were friendly and helpful when needed. The rooms were perfectly clean and smelled amazing. The restaurant food was lovely and very fairly priced, suited our whole family with 3 fussy eaters so much we ate there twice. The overall price of the rooms was great for the rooms as they were perfect for our needs, including one being downstairs for elderly party member.
Nothing we didn’t “like”, but the doors were a little difficult to lock but nothing we couldn’t figure out and do!

We were seeking somewhere near the ferry port, easy to find, with food and this delivered on all points. The room was lovely, very clean and with a lot of the little extras that many places have stopped doing - nice amenities in the bathroom, loads of coffee sachets and biscuits. We enjoyed a walk along the sea front before we had to leave and this was literally a few steps away.
Only the noise from upstairs but guess that comes with hard floors. And it didn’t go on too late

The room was spacious and clean, with tea and coffee facilities plus complimentary biscuits. It was lovely and cosy on arrival, and there was plenty of space for our dog to sleep too. Staff were very friendly and showed us promptly to the room. The location was perfect for an overnight before catching the ferry to Ireland, and in close proximity to a lovely park. We didn't spend much time in the bar, but it seemed busy with a good atmosphere.
The room is situated at the top of a metal staircase (to the fire escape) so we could hear the guests in the next room coming and going, and we were very conscious of making noise ourselves leaving early for the ferry. The bed was fairly comfortable, but the springs in the mattress were very loud and twanged every time one of us turned over!

Fantastic location to catch the ferry to Belfast. Pub food was amazing after a long drive up. Access to a walk along the Loch was amazing. We stayed as a family of 2 adults and 2 teens. We had plenty of space in the 1 room. There were 2 single beds and 1 double, which was perfect for us. Communication before arriving was fantastic, staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome.
The beds are in need of changing but for one night we dealt with it.

Clean, comfortable accommodation. Friendly welcome at reception. Good-sized room, with a double bed and two single beds which would make it a very good (and great value) option for a family group. Approx 20 minute walk from Stranraer town centre. The sea front was two or three minutes' walk on the opposite side of the road, with pleasant views across towards Cairnryan. Agnew Park was close by, which had a little lake with seating around it to relax. Free on-the-road parking approx 50 yards from the premises. Overall, it did the job perfectly well for a two-night stay.
The shower. The cubicle was spacious, but the water pressure wasn't great (I'm acknowledging here that the room is in an elevated part of the premises furthest away from the bar area, which might have an effect on the water pressure) and it wasn't easy to regulate the water temperature to a comfortable level.

Ideal place to stay for an overnight after coming off the Cairnryan ferry from belfast. Room was comfy and spacious (3 beds) and the bathroom was clean and warm. (I hate cold bathrooms) The communication was excellent as our fery was delayed and they stayed open to accommodate our late arrival. Thank you!
Although it didn't bother us as we arrived late and left early these rooms are attached to a pub which I guess might be noisy. Everything else was fine.
