the Manager went out of his way to help us

when we arrived the manager said the room was on the top floor which meant climbing 4 flights of stairs with no lift and he said he didnt want us to use it because we are both in our eighties and use walking sticks he phoned round other hotels and managed to get us a room in another hotel for we were really grateful they also cancelled the booking fee I was sorry we couldnt stay at the Royal hotel bcause the location was perfect in the town centre Thankyou again for all your help

Great location. Lovely room. Very nicely decorated and had everything that you needed, hairdryer and ironing facilities. We had a nice view of the sea. Everywhere was super clean. All staff were very friendly and the meal we had in the restaurant was good value and very tasty. Well priced drinks in the bar also. Will 100% stay here again.

Water pressure in the bathroom. The shower was very underwhelming which probably can't be helped as the rooms were at the top of the building.

A hidden gem. The rooms are modern, well presented and equipped. The star element however is the hotel restaurant which offered a varied menu and exceptional quality of produce and cookery. Add to that friendly and professional staff and I was well pleased with my short stay.

I’m still trying to figure out how to put the bedside lights on and it’s street parking, rather than a designated parking area. Neither of which are major issues tbh.

Warm welcome on arrival. Central location ,very clean and comfortable .

Hotel staff unapproachable in the evening. After having our evening of music celebrations and returned back to unwind within our hotel room . The bar had closed one hour before stated time and closed there till . We were shamefully refused some bottled water . Offering to settle the payment in the morning as the hotel held our card details. We were offered tap water instead.

The hotel was exceptionally clean and very comfortable. Nice friendly bar with a good selection of drinks. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the proprietor who shared his local knowledge and recommended the best restaurants. Great location and handy for all amenities. We look forward to returning to The Royal Hotel.

The Hotel was not serving food during our visit although I understand that they had plans to do so. This was not a problem as there are many eating places nearby.

Very clean room. Friendly, helpful staff. We arrived late and had a couple of drinks in the bar(Saturday evening), nice friendly atmosphere and very reasonable prices. Town centre location

Again as we arrived late the room was a little cold. Also some noise from street being a Saturday night to be fair. Limited street parking only so we had to park in the public car park some distance away. But overall great value.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful. While the hotel has obviously been there for a long time, the room was beautifully refurbished and very modern. The room and ensuite was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The hotel offers an evening meal. Despite being located on a busy junction and having a pub, the hotel was very quiet and relaxing. We had a lovely time.

Staff were very friendly and welcoming, took the time to give us a few pointers for our trip. Room was good size, clean, modern and with a large bathroom. All recently renovated and to a high standard. Coffee and tea facilities were available and were refilled every day.

The only issue we had was that we could hear the conversations from the room next door - however this is not something that the hotel can control.

The room was spotless, big comfortable bed and pillows that didn’t resemble a bag of stone plus the curtains actually kept out the light! The staff were very friendly and were always available to answer questions and point us in the right direction. We had dinner in the hotel and it was also a winner.

No complaints at all.

EVERYTHING! Location - bang in the Centre close to everything. Staff - Couldn't be nicer. Chatty. Welcoming. We got a free drink on arrival. Locals - Very friendly. We had a few drinks in the hotel bar and the locals were all chatting. Even in other pubs locals were buying us drinks and chatting. Room - Fantastic. Newly decorated. Very modern. Very clean. Very spacious. Hotel - Even though its above a pub it was not noisy. You are a couple of floors above the bar so no noise can be heard. Parking - We managed to get free on street parking in the next street from the hotel which was a 2 minute walk.

That we only stayed for one night!
