Warm welcome on arrival. Central location ,very clean and comfortable .

Hotel staff unapproachable in the evening. After having our evening of music celebrations and returned back to unwind within our hotel room . The bar had closed one hour before stated time and closed there till . We were shamefully refused some bottled water . Offering to settle the payment in the morning as the hotel held our card details. We were offered tap water instead.

The hotel was exceptionally clean and very comfortable. Nice friendly bar with a good selection of drinks. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the proprietor who shared his local knowledge and recommended the best restaurants. Great location and handy for all amenities. We look forward to returning to The Royal Hotel.

The Hotel was not serving food during our visit although I understand that they had plans to do so. This was not a problem as there are many eating places nearby.

Very clean room. Friendly, helpful staff. We arrived late and had a couple of drinks in the bar(Saturday evening), nice friendly atmosphere and very reasonable prices. Town centre location

Again as we arrived late the room was a little cold. Also some noise from street being a Saturday night to be fair. Limited street parking only so we had to park in the public car park some distance away. But overall great value.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful. While the hotel has obviously been there for a long time, the room was beautifully refurbished and very modern. The room and ensuite was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The hotel offers an evening meal. Despite being located on a busy junction and having a pub, the hotel was very quiet and relaxing. We had a lovely time.

Staff were very friendly and welcoming, took the time to give us a few pointers for our trip. Room was good size, clean, modern and with a large bathroom. All recently renovated and to a high standard. Coffee and tea facilities were available and were refilled every day.

The only issue we had was that we could hear the conversations from the room next door - however this is not something that the hotel can control.

EVERYTHING! Location - bang in the Centre close to everything. Staff - Couldn't be nicer. Chatty. Welcoming. We got a free drink on arrival. Locals - Very friendly. We had a few drinks in the hotel bar and the locals were all chatting. Even in other pubs locals were buying us drinks and chatting. Room - Fantastic. Newly decorated. Very modern. Very clean. Very spacious. Hotel - Even though its above a pub it was not noisy. You are a couple of floors above the bar so no noise can be heard. Parking - We managed to get free on street parking in the next street from the hotel which was a 2 minute walk.

That we only stayed for one night!

very central, walking distance to everywhere. room was very clean and fresh and a decent size 😊 staff were very welcoming and owner was super helpful when I phoned with some questions just before my booking.

my only thing I found, as a female getting ready for a wedding, the heights of the mirrors were a little high when I was sitting down ( maybe I’m just small! ha!) and couldn’t use the long mirror due to no plugs near.. but that’s me just being fussy.. everything else was perfect!

The room and hotel where spotlessly clean. Management right down to the cleaners where very welcoming and accommodating. The food in the restaurant was lovely would recommend. Will definitely be back. Can't fault this hotel at all and husband loved the bar

Nothing I didn't like about this hotel it was excellent 👌

Lovely room very well equipped with toiletries and drinks. Also a full size ironing board and iron. The hotel and the room had been recently decorated and the room was extremely clean. The staff were helpful and friendly and the bar area was nice. We also had the benefit of a lovely sea view. We only stayed one night as we were catching a ferry but the next time we would like to stay a little longer.p

The only downside was no car park, however there is on street parking and a large car park nearby

Perfect for our stop-over for the ferry. Loved the spacious, nicely decorated room with extra touches for your comfort. Bed comfortable. Helpful and friendly host.

Parking could be an issue, we parked a short walk away at a main free car-park. Ear-plugs advisable for an earlier night. Would return again as very good value and good location.
