THAT was our biggest problem! We were not informed that the glorious breakfast was included in our stay. As we were extending ourselves and paid for dinner, we did not do breakfast due to the anticipated cost. And THEN, at check-out, we found out it was included but it was too late! SOOOOO sad. We actually had some food at the only thing open which was a gas station.

Communication regarding the included breakfast. This is HUGE! Americans would not assume breakfast is included in high-end properties.

This felt like a sublime experience. The staff were extremely attentive without being invasive. Everything was beautifully organised and peaceful. The location was amazing with a stunning seaview of Ailsa Craig. Every plate of food was cooked with love and attention to detail. I have never been served such a brilliant breakfast. It is a special place which feels more like a beautiful family home rather than a hotel. I look forward to my next stay there with the bird experience!

Absolutely nothing.

The Castle is set in the most beautiful location, is exceptionally peaceful and quiet and fantastic for a very relaxing break. The food was delicious and the staff were very helpful and polite.

My Wife and I were at the Castle for my birthday yet I did find it very strange that the Welcome Card in our suite wished my Wife Happy Birthday. I also found it strange that the Receptionist then wished ME Happy Birthday!!! This was very poor at 5 star level. No complimentary glass of anything was offered for the occasion, but saying that they probably weren’t aware who to offer it too!!! There was no mini bar or tea and coffee facilities. The pillows were poor and uncomfortable and no pillow menu was offered. The bathroom needed an upgrade although very clean.

The food was exceptional with a new menu each evening. The staff were fantastic, very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the area. My husband was celebrating a special birthday and the staff went out of their way to make him feel special. Our room was a good size, standard of cleanliness excellent and tastefully decorated. Bed very comfortable. All rooms were lovely and warm.

Didn't realise that we could have hired bikes. But to be honest it wasn't a major issue.

Loved the Bathroom. The Bed & Pillows were comfortable, the Food and Service were excellent. Special thanks to Lily and the sommelier (apologies didn't get his name) who recommended an excellent wine for me :-)

Although the service was prompt for us, for tea & coffee in the guest room, there's nothing like having the facilty in your room. For the hot water bottle (lol) or making your own tea/chocolate when up in the middle of the night & having the dishevelled look!

The location of this hotel is completely stunning and we enjoyed walking around the immediate grounds. We were given a complimentary room upgrade which was lovely as we travelled with another couple and were celebrating a birthday. The way the staff greet you upon arrival was fabulous and we constantly felt staff were around if we needed them but they didn't intrude. Our rooms were gorgeous and enhanced by the lovely fresh flowers. The dining room was beautiful and the food and drink delicious. We had a special time.

It is hard to think of anything we didn't like. If I'm nit picking, the fact that we'd said in advance that two of our group were pescatarian was forgotten about several times which was disappointing when one was the birthday boy.

Staff were so helpful, especially Iona, Rueban and Rose. Food was very nice. Location is amazing and very peaceful.

There was nothing to dislike. If I'm being picky I would maybe revue service for drinks outside. Also the woman who looks after the eagles was quite rude and abrupt.

Mostly everything was spectacular but the staff made the stay at the Castle relaxing and utterly enjoyable. As you’d expect they were attentive and professional, but it was their genuineness and warmth that took it to another level. Incredible!

Dining (breakfast & dinner) exceptional, staff from arrival to departure were friendly and managed every need quickly and efficiently. Castle itself and grounds were beautiful and well maintained. Wide variety of activities were available, but all for additional costs.

Decor of room a little underwhelming considering the very significant cost per night. Rain shower handle was loose and didn't provide hot water. Felt a little more like a good 3 star room/basic 4 star than a 5 star. The beds were comfortable but no choice of mattress or pillow which was a little surprising for this price level.
