Bed was comfortable. Staff were excellent. Beautiful grounds in Autumn: pleasant walks. A good breakfast.

Building is getting a bit tired. The breakfast was good but not a patch on the pre-covid breakfast we raved over.

The hotel is lovely, it is surrounded by nature which our little one loved! Our little one also loved the fairy lights outside the hotel, especially the one around the tree! There’s also plenty of parking spaces. Staffs were lovely and very welcoming. The family room was very spacious. Our bed was comfortable, having a cot was a bonus! There was a fan in the room as it can get quite warm at night. Breakfast was great apart from the scrambled eggs - I found it runny for my liking.

Overall, the property was nice and decent. The only thing I can say is that it is quite outdated but if you don’t mind that then you’ll enjoy this place!

Lovely staff and incredible location with lovely walks around the reservoir and into woodland at the end of the garden. The hotel itself is charming - it's not the most modern, but it has everything you need. Breakfast was plentiful and the view from the breakfast room really is something. I liked that there were water filters throughout the hotel instead of bottled water.

It would have been good to know in advance that you need to put a sign on the door for the room to be cleaned - it wasn't an issue and we probably wouldn't have put it out anyway. Just would have been good to know. Also, not sure if it was the case with all water dispensers throughout the hotel, but there was no sparkling water in the one near us.

From the moment you turn into the gates the grounds and hotel are just wow. Upon arrival we was greeted by a lovely lady (sadly we didn't get her name) who checked us in with the best service you could imagine even at 21:30pm. We then went to the room 10/10 for everything the hotel smells so clean and fresh throughout. We decided to order food to the hotel where another lovely lady on reception kindly give us plates and a big bucket of ice for us to take the room. We stayed the next night in another hotel 10mins drive away. Again 4* but nothing was as good as this one we was tempted to check out and come back over. I am looking to book again for 1 more night. Thank you for everything

Nothing.

Breakfast was very good and complete: plenty of cereal, seeds, and fruit. Good hot breakfast too, especially the bacon and sausages. Plenty of bread and warm pastries. Gluten free bread/cereal and lactose free milk available. The room was quiet. Bathroom was kept nicely warm and the shower had settings to adapt its strength. The grounds are beautiful and quiet despite being by the road. Staff was lovely, polite and efficient.

We stayed in the main and older building, which is a beautiful mansion. Despite being old, it is in great condition but it could do with a little bit of refreshing to prevent future decaying, especially in the reception area. Not that we didn't like it but that it could be improved on.

Location, conservatory room for breakfast was lovely, staff were all lovely, very helpful

The room and bathroom ( shower very poor flow) although clean are very dated, really needs refreshing, as does the rest of the property, corridors, stairwells etc. The main reception and main building are still lovely, in keeping with the character of the place, although again, needs a bit of money spent refreshing these areas but still maintaining the character. Bit disappointed you couldn`t get any meals apart from breakfast.

The room was lovely, very warm and cosy. Very clean. The staff were lovely too, especially the polish lady on the desk, she made us really welcomed, she was amazing. She made us feel very welcome with our dog too. Gave him a bowl of water and couple of hugs. She made us a coffee and biscuits as we asked her if there was a coffee shop close by as we had travelled 3.5 hours and were desperate for a coffee. She made no hesitation and said she would make us a coffee and a drink for our son. It was very kind of her. We had a very enjoyable relaxing weekend. Thank you so much. The area was brilliant, loved it. The only down side we had was the bed settee, the wooden slats underneath the mattress, fell out as soon as my son laid on the bed. We tried to get them in. But noticed a few had come out. He slept on the floor for a while on the mattress bit, but being asmatic, the dust was getting to him, so he joined us in the big bed, which he loved. He had a good sleep after that. Thank you again. We had a good time. 😁 ♥️

Everything was great, apart from the bed mentioned above, everything was brilliant

We had a lovely room with a beautiful view of the garden. In it was a great big bed with probably the most comfortable mattress I have slept on, with big fluffy pillows and a clean, roomy en suite bathroom. Breakfast was in a spacious conservatory overlooking the grounds and was plentiful with a good choice - scrambled egg, sausage, bacon, tomato, mushroom and baked beans, toast, pastries, yogurt, fresh fruit, cereal, orange juice and coffee. One day we had table service and the others were self service. A comfortable bar was open in the evenings. Best of all were the friendly, welcoming, professional staff.

The one thing, I felt could be improved upon was the tea at breakfast. A minor point but important to some. Hot water was provided in an urn, with tea bags available along with a massive jug of milk. If one wanted milk with one's tea, one had to add it to the tea bag dunked in hot water there and then in a cup at the urn before taking it all to the table. Obviously, this is a very poor way of making a cup of tea and one ends up with weak, cold, milky tea. Fortunately, I prefer coffee. My husband on the other hand is a tea drinker and not so impressed. Easily remedied, I'd have thought by providing small individual milk jugs.

Beds were really comfy, loved the soap and spa products in the bathroom, the old fashioned water spigot was really cool to use aswell, loved the wooded Lakeland the court was based on, the carpark was really nice and big and we enjoyed the breakfast too. Wish we knew about the spa before we arrived so we will have to give that a try next time we come!

Honestly nothing much to complain about for the price you pay for a room and how gorgeous the location is this place is a steal! Only thing I'd of loved even more was if there was a bath in the room!
