We loved the friendliness and hospitality of Desmond, owner, and Joe and Eileen. Thank you so much. The included breakfast was lovingly served in a room furnished with family heirlooms. The breakfast was fantastic with a choice of full Irish breakfast, or pancakes or a vegetarian selection. The shower was hot, the bed comfortable and the room quiet. Desmond was very helpful with local attractions and places to eat.

The weather. It prevented much walking, but what can you do when the streets are covered in ice in unusually cold weather. Not under the control of Desmond and family!

Great location. What a warm welcome we received and we were able to check in early as we had asked for. Very comfortable. Hope we can come back soon. The breakfast was exceptional. I recommend you try the full Irish breakfast or the pancakes with fruit. Would you believe home made applesauce? Ben View is conveniently located in downtown Clifden. A special thanks to Eileen and the Dr in town for help with a medical situation. We felt very well cared for.

Warm and friendly hosts, quality guesthouse centrally located in Clifden with restaurants & pubs nearby. Free car park 2 minutes walk away if no street parking outside available. Cosy clean room with a comfortable bed and a nice ensuite bathroom. Very quiet - room was overlooking the street but couldn't hear any traffic. Breakfast was fantastic and served in a very unique style dining room. Lovely place to stay, great value for money

The hostess is gracious and attentive to every detail. The room was very clean and comfy, with a soft bed and cozy blankets, a kettle and tea in the room, fresh fluffy towels for the modern shower, and good TV service. We were pleased to discover that this B&B has been owned and operated by one family for almost 100 years. The dining room is filled with gorgeous antiques, and the breakfast couldn't have been better. We were offered a choice of entrees, and it was all fresh and delicious.

The only thing I didn't like was that we couldn't stay longer! The comfort of this B&B made our stay in Clifden perfect.

Host was wonderful. Des was his name. Well dressed, very professional, and clearly cared about his guests and guest house. We received a great welcome. He met us on arrival and departure. Beds and pillows were super comfortable. Breakfast was exceptional, worthy of a 5 star hotel.Best pancakes we ever had anywhere. Super location, walking distance of restaurants and wonderful pubs wits live music. Would absolutely stay here again. Thank you Des.

The warm welcome from Eileen and Desmond set the scene for a fabulous stay. The room was comfortable and spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was stupendous and the dining room was full of family artefacts that provided talking points and provoked lots of questions that our hosts were happy to answer. Des recommended a great swimming spot and welcomed our return to shower after the 14 degree dip (even though check out time had passed.) We would definitely return and would recommend this gem to all.

If you’re looking for warm Irish hospitality this is the place, right in the heart of Clifden. We had a large comfortable room with a good shower and were treated to a generous and delicious breakfast, served by the lovely Barbara and our wonderful host Des, who went out of his way to make us feel welcome. Highly recommended.

The highlight of this guest house was Desmond, our host. Three generations of his family have run this guest house since 1926. The living rooms are full of antique furniture and china. The dining room was beautiful and the table service excellent. our rooms were very comfortable. Well located in a quieter street nnear the Clifden town centre. Des had lots of tips for the next leg of our drive.
