It seems that the hotel was recently renovated, and everything was very clean and attractive. Good location. We arrived a little after 7:30 pm. The restaurant had already taken last orders, but the staff were very helpful about locating a restaurant that was still serving dinner and provided shuttle transportation, which made it very convenient. The hotel's restaurant, Gio's, has great food and a pleasant atmosphere.

This hotel does not have terminals for paying by credit card, so guests have to pay online. I found it difficult to do the online payment on my iPhone at checkout. The first time, the credit card authorization failed, and I had to redo it. If there had been a credit card terminal, the authorization would have taken about 15 seconds. Instead, it took 15 minutes. I wondered why the hotel didn't have a credit card terminal (I've never encountered this situation at a hotel before). The clerk's explanation was that the Hakuba Group operates many properties and would need "about 30 terminals" if they used terminals. Her explanation sounded dubious to me: Many businesses have multiple outlets, but they have credit card payment terminals at all of the points where customers make payments.

The Happo was our second hotel location within the town of Happo and it was stellar! The convenient location of the hotel puts it in walking distance of all hot spots within the town and for locations that were a bit too far to walk, or when the snow was too heavy, the Happo team were incredibly accomodating in organising shuttle busses for guests. One of the town’s bus stops is conveniently situated at the hotel’s entrance too, so getting to different ski fields was hassle-free. Having Gio’s and The Clubhouse located within the building was incredible - immaculate vibes at all hours of the day/night. I can’t wait to return!

Nice staff. They are very helpful and polite. All staff at reception speak English. The hotel not only provides free arrival and departure transportation, but also free transportation to designated places. The room is clean and large. Onsen is clean and comfortable. The semi-buffet breakfast has plenty main dishes to choose from. Clients can rent bicycle from a shop located next to the hotel though I have not tried. The whole experience is fantastic.

Onsen closes at 10pm. It would be fantastic to extend the service hrs to, say, 12am

We liked almost everything about The Happo. property was in excellent condition and located with good local restaurants etc nearby in a nice part of town. The breakfast was quality and generous to power you on the slopes. The staff were very helpful and ran good communication via WhatsApp for booking shuttles, restaurants etc. The room and amenities were top notch with details in design and experience thoughtfully targeted to support our stay, to list some: best ski locker ever, super comfy slippers and quality robes, washers dryers, quality linen…

The only drawback was that the restaurant food and bar offered no Japanese options, but this is minor and these options were all available nearby.

Great location, staff and facilities. Very comfortable and made the trip easy. Hotel provides private shuttles to several mountains which is handy and helped with booking restaurants. Being able to communicate via WhatsApp was amazing. Other excellent things - bar, Onsen on site to use after a day on the slopes. Took us a little bit of time to warm to Hakuba being so western but by the end of the week, we got a better feel for all the other great things you get so would return and stay at The Happo.

Great to have all the English speaking staff but we did miss getting a Japanese experience and felt it was very western. We did not hear any Japanese in the hotel at all. Hakuba on the whole is very western compared to other resorts we have visited in Japan. The breakfast could include a Japanese option for example. The Happo website should add all the great things they provide like details of the shuttle buses etc. and that they help with restaurant bookings. I only found these details out months after booking, but may attract more people by sharing details on the website.

The hotel is clean, modern and very comfortable. Great location with the ability to walk to many nearby restaurants and shops. We had a family room which was very comfortable for us. Comfortable beds, well lit rooms and bathroom had plenty of hot water and good water pressure. Easy access to the basement storage area to keep our ski and snowboarding equipment. Excellent staff who responded quickly to WhatsApp messages and helped us book restaurant reservations and offered sightseeing suggestions. The hotel group has shuttle services to many destinations- you just need to book them as they can fill up quickly.

I wish the coffee at breakfast was better! But other than that, no complaints.

Location was perfect. Ski rental equipment outlet Rhythm was just outside the hotel. You could also return the equipment on site in the ski locker section. Complimentary shuttle services to Evergreen Ski School also made it so convenient. Rooms were comfortable, clean, functional and so well thought out. Absolutely love the cosy vibe of the property. Onsen in the property provided a perfect ending to any ski day!

This place is amazing and live to the expectation. However, the staff could be more friendly and hospitable. The room is a bit small, but the onsen in the hotel is amazing. The area Happo one is also amazing with alot of nice and walking distance restaurants and establsihments. Would book it again because of convenience. The restaurant (clubhouse) has an amazing staff and nice iced match latte. Overall, 8.5/10.

The staff was truly nice and friendly and helped us when needed. Also, the communication was easy as the staff spoke English, which should not given for granted in Japan. The hotel is quite and clean - we did enjoy our stay and recommend this hotel! For breakfast you can choose one option from their fixed menu (we choose the acai bowl and it was delicious), plus you have some bread and croissant in the buffet section.

Nothing to highlight, it was a pleasant experience.

All the staff were exceptional, very happy and accommodating, nothing was a problem, more than keen to assist with transfers & bookings. Great location, very central. The hotel provides transfers to Hakuba Group restaurants & Happo One Ski Resort, so convenient. We stayed in a Family room which is perfect for a family of 4, very spacious & well layed out. Definitely will be back 👌🏻

The restaurant was a bit over priced for what you get, but there are so many other restaurant options all around Happo.
