Very nice bedding, mattress and pillow - all tops. Bathroom also very clean, almost new, well appointed - fresh towels everyday. Room not big but big enough. Overall vibe of the hotel is very nice, subtly very cool. Reception staff charming and quite helpful. Location is ideal. Beach towels provided everyday, beach chairs provided, umbrella available at cost - the beach is to die for!!

There is no gym, despite listing. Rest staff confused about happy hour pricing (nit-picking here but we never went back as a result). A bottle of water costs $12 at the bar 😳.

Location - it’s in the art deco area which is the nicest along Miami Beach (in our opinion). We had a room with sea view on floor 3 which was great to wake up to Guests get a free drink during happy hour - choice of three. The G&T was great. 20% discount on food - the hotel has a restaurant on the ground floor and onto the front. Room was ok size wise with really good bed and pillows. Lovely bathroom, although shower heat could be a bit fickle. The restaurant food was very good, although one meal arrived cold, which was replaced immediately upon mentioning this. Free beach towels available from reception and loungers on beach for guest use.

There was no coffee machine in the room or free coffee/tea in the reception - you essentially order and pay as you go from the bar. Not a problem for us but it looked like parking was expensive, either using the Valet or self parking in a multi-story nearby. My advice would be not to take a car. We returned from a trip to the Keys but dropped car at airport before heading into S Beach on the 150 bus which goes direct and costs $2.

This Hotel is very tidy and our room was beautifully decorated and also kept in prime condition by the household. Comfy bed. Prime location right next to the beach. Handy and fast valet service. Good breakfast with many options - although a bit pricy. Extremely friendly and helpful staff, made us feel welcome. The Argentinian bartender was very nice, made me and my son hand-crafted strawberry lemonade, delicious! Had a nice chat too.

The only minus was the somewhat thin door to the corridor. Could use better sound insulation. This wasn’t a big deal since there was not too much traffic in the corridor.

The Pelican is in a great location in the middle of the Art Deco district at Miami beach. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The daily complimentary cocktails were great and so were the provided towels and beach lounges. Although the hotel is amongst the hustle and bustle of the main tourist area, it does feel relatively calm and was nice to sit out the front at their chilled out bar/restaurant. Check out the Rooftop Bunch also recommended.

A beach umbrella would have been nice to have included with the complimentary beach chairs. The lobster roll brioche bun was not great. But these are minor feedback items. Overall the stay was great.

I booked an Executive room so we were at the front of the hotel with great views of the beach. We were given the Executive Sixties (3rd floor) and it was great! The bed had a new organic 6ft mattress and whilst firm, was comfortable. Good pillows. Nice shower room & toiletries. The espresso coffee machine in room was fabulous and pods replenished. Also Italian (Panna) bottled water daily. Bathrobes & slippers & hand held clothes steamer. Sunbeds free on beach and towels provided. Parking - we used the garage at 7th St and it was roughly $30 daily. Everything about our stay was perfect for our needs. It was our first time in the US & I was unduly worried about everything - it went smoothly!

Loved the staff, so helpful and informative. Located between 8th and 9th Sat, across the road from Muscle Beach and Miami Beach beyond. At the beach turn right and go to the kiosk by the blue umbrellas. Tell them you are at the Pelican Hotel and you’ll get a lounge chair. For a small cost they’ll lend an umbrella although we got one for free. Pelican Hotel has a $10 breakfast + tax and a cheaper dinner menu. There’s valet parking but we didn’t have a car so can’t comment on cost. You get one free drink during happy hour 4-7pm, wine, vodka or mocktail. We stayed a week and would love to return. Given it’s on Ocean Drive, near nightclubs it was surprisingly quiet.

This place is a 32-room boutique hotel tucked inside a classic Art Deco building, and yep, it’s owned by the Rosso family—aka the Diesel fashion folks. So, naturally, it’s got attitude. Every room is a little different, but ours? Small, boho, and full of charm—think mirrored walls, double bed, mini fridge, TV, safe, bathroom, and a tiny window peeking out at the world. You’re smack in the middle of South Beach, so it’s all about soaking up the vibes. And the Pelican gets that—guests score a free cocktail from 3–6pm, shaken or stirred by Julio, the absolute legend behind the bar who’s been here forever. Grab a drink, post up outside, and enjoy the parade: beach volleyball, Muscle Beach Miami-style, and people strolling by with parrots or snakes (seriously). Hungry? The in-house Italian chef knows what’s up. Hotel guests get 20% off dinner (yay), though breakfast is full price (boo). If you’re feeling frugal or just need snacks, there’s a CVS nearby and a 24-hour market around the corner. Now, about those classic U.S. hotel quirks—there’s a “resort fee” of $38 a night (plus tax), which gets you beach towels and two loungers at the beach just a couple minutes away. But if you want a parasol? That’ll be an extra $21. Yep. Valet parking? $45 a night (plus tax). Usually works fine, takes about 15 minutes. One hiccup for us meant a 50-minute wait on day two, but the manager handled it like a pro and comped a night, so no hard feelings. For something more low-key, check out Room 55—the rooftop speakeasy with chill vibes and solid drinks. There’s also a little back terrace with skyline views. Not sure if we were technically allowed up there, but hey—no one stopped us. Staff-wise, most speak Spanish (which is pretty much the norm in South Beach). One person didn’t speak any English, so just a heads up. Would we stay again? If you’re into that full South Beach experience—absolutely. Just know what you’re signing up for: it’s all about style.

A few quirks with water and don’t expect help with cases Valet a bit slow

The staff were very kind and accommodating, and the decor overall was a fun touch of classic Miami Beach. We actually received maid service daily unlike many hotels that now only offer every few days. The area was very walkable with plenty to do without needing a car. We took the occasional Uber or Lyft to other areas when needed, which was much cheaper than paying for valet parking.

We rented 2 rooms, one for us, and one for our boys who are teens/preteens. The room the boys were in had an inappropriate image on the bedframe. While it is Miami Beach, and therefor a pretty adult area, my boys were a bit mortified once they noticed it. The headboard had a metallic decor on it of a naked lady that included all the bits. It was small, but once you noticed it, it was hard not to keep noticing it. But, it's not enough to keep me from recommending the hotel. I would just warn travelers with kids to avoid the Psychodelic(ate) room on the 3rd floor. Also of note, like most hotels in the old art deco section of Miami Beach, there are no beach views from the rooms, just views of the building next door. Again, not a deal breaker, but something to be aware of.

If you appreciate architecture, this is a must stay in south beach Miami. Property well maintained and clean. Staff is super friendly and available to help at anytime. You couldn’t ask for a better location! You have the beach literally in front of the hotel. Free public beach gyms also in front. Everything you might need is at a walking distance.

The only reason I am giving a 9/10 instead of 10/10 is the shower water pressure. I understand that in turistic areas this can be an issue but the hand water pressure was fine. Something to look into! We could still shower and it wasn’t a deal breaker for me. But it can be for some people.

Great location on South Beach, close to lots of restaurants, the Beach, the Art Deco Museum, the Wolfsonian, the South Pointe Park, Lincoln Rd, etc. We walked everywhere and took the free Miami Beach trolley once to access Mid-Beach. Supper at the Italian restaurant on site was great and nice touch to have a discount for hotel guests. Even though the room was small, it was easy to organize clothes etc with the closet and multiple shelves. Lovely view from rooftop restaurant as well, brunch is available on weekends but we didn't eat there since we're often up and walking around a city by 8:00 am.
