The property was clean, well maintained, easy to navigate, and had very friendly staff that were able to keep things running smoothly even during a power outage that hit the entire block. They had good breakfast variety and the atrium they served it in was so pretty.

The only thing we didn’t like was the bed. It wasn’t terribly uncomfortable but it wasn’t great either. Plus, it was incredibly noisy/unstable. Any movement on it whatsoever made an incredibly loud squeaking/thudding noise and almost felt like it was going to break just from climbing in it or turning over while lying in it.

We liked that it was clean, quiet, and very well located to Main Street and the Mission. The staff were so accommodating and friendly. The common space in the lobby was very welcoming and cozy. The breakfast was sufficient to get you to lunch and the Atrium breakfast room was very nice.

Really only ONE TINY improvement would have made EVERYTHING absolutely perfect. It may sound silly, but a little trash can in the main room as well as the one provided in the bathroom, would have made that room complete.

Lovely hotel, clean and tidy, location perfect for walking to beach, shops and restaurants. Staff great and very helpful. Enjoyed having coffee on balcony, bed really comfortable, we used the jacuzzi. Had no problem with parking, breakfast good all you need to start the day.

There was nothing not to like.

The room was a good size as was the bathroom. Liked having a balcony. Everything worked as it should (TV, lamps, wall plugs). Bed was comfortable.

More plugs for devices by the bed. Just a multiple electric tap would be fine. Maybe an option for people to check one out upon check in...I imagine people just take them if you have them plugged in the room.

The closeness of it to the Saturday Farmer’s Market and Main Street shops and restaurants AND the delicious weekend breakfast buffet, with waffles, too! 🧇💕

Parking is a bit limited, but it worked out okay. Our “view” from our bedroom/sliding door was blocked by a huge wooden fence(which I’m sure is for security reasons!) We did manage to see the beautiful, old fig tree and lovely park and mural, from the bathroom mural! Rm. 118 Could also use a post in the room to press 30 on remote for TV listings! 👍😉💕

The Clocktower has a variety of rooms. Their photos are accurate so choose your favourite. We wanted a large room with lots of windows and found it as pictured. It had hardwood floors and deep granite window sills, a Spanish Colonial vibe and great comfy beds with crisp white linens. For picky people, the cheap remote with Scotch tape repair and peeling non-stick in the bath tub might be occasions for a tantrum, but for us, the great draperies over the truly impressive expanse of graceful mullioned windows and sense of serenity and care about the place are what we noticed and appreciated, hence the exceptional rating. It is an exceptional place and one we will long remember as one of our favorite places.

A longer stay would have been nice.

I knew going in that the hotel had a good location but didn't realize how good it was until I was there, it is a 8 minute walk to the ocean and on the other side you are Downtown but at the end of it, not in the middle so it is still quiet.

Location, staff, parking, breakfast, old-fashioned attractiveness and charm.

Woke up at 3:00am to loud music. Bed mattress was uncomfortable. Not enough towels.

Staff was always helpful. From almost having to cancel our stay to ending up helping us extend our stay, the staff were professional, friendly, and helpful. They made everything easy!! They even provided us a roll away bed. The weekly breakfast was excellent. It consisted of hard boiled eggs, oatmeal, an assortment of breads to toast with different toppings, fresh fruit, 2 different cereals, coffee, orange juice, and even a waffle maker. The weekend breakfast buffet was even better. They even had beach towels and sand toys available to check out at no extra charge. That really helped when we went to the beach! Shops and eateries were within walking distance Overall, out stay was great! I would absolutely stay here again.

Comfy beds.

Cold and rainy and you have to walk outside from your room to the lobby and breakfast area. Bathroom was old. Fan in bathroom really loud and heater in room loud. Could be charming but falls short.
