This hotel is in a wonderful refurbished historic Ottoman-era guest house. It has a fantastic, very convenient location near the centre of Berat. It is well signposted from the main road through town and the intercity bus stops nearby if you are travelling by public transport like we were. There are lots of shops and restaurants within a few minute's walk. The location is very convenient for exploring the historic centre of Berat and Gorica. The citadel (castle) is nearby. There is a steep climb to reach it, but this is true for everywhere else in the city except the citadel itself and there is no way around this! The hotel is very beautiful, with traditional carved wood paneling in many of the public areas. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was excellent value for money.

It is a great place to stay and I have no complaints at all. We didn't stay for breakfast because we had to leave early, so I can't rate it for that.

The location is excellent. It is in the heart of the downtown, yet quiet, with restaurants, grocery, coffee, and a street away from the pedestrian mall. Best of all, it is NOT one of the countless hotels that you must navigate steep hills and narrow cobblestone alleys to get to. There are many hotels that you can't get a car within 200 meters of. Also, the owner, Kozeta, is very sweet and was always available. I would definitely stay here if I visit again.

I found nothing to dislike.

Very well located in Old Town, there is a bakery with cheap tasty food nearby, the walking pedestrian area is on the next street over. A short walk away from Conrad supermarket, the old town is small so easy and nice to walk back and forth between new and old bridge. The hotel was extremely clean !! Beds were old and a little creaky but fine, water very nice and hot.

They held party on my first evening on the ground floor (not for me 🤣) but the music was extremely loud even on the 2nd floor, thankfully it finished at a reasonable time. The shower in my room didn't have a curtain so it was hard to try not have water go everywhere

Hotel Berati is incredible value for money, located very close to everything worth seeing in Berat. The interior is gorgeous with a traditional design and the rooms have that rustic traditional vibe while also being spotless. The rooms are spacious, and I had a large private balcony looking out toward the mosque and orthodox church. Breakfast was basic but varied with enough fuel to do a lot of walking around the city. The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful whenever I had questions; her level of English was high.

The toilet would occasionally run at night, which could be annoying if you don't have earplugs (I did). The traffic noise can be loud outside the hotel, but that is beyond their control. It did not offset the positives for me.

Wonderful stay in typical beautiful venue. What was once a big house has been converted in a very pleasant hotel. The common space, the entrance is amazing. The hosts are extremely kind and helpful. The room was very clean, big with a terrace. The location is very central.

The property is in the city centre. The staff were very kind. It was an incredible value. The room was spacious. Great location with all the restaurants and shops around.

Basic but comfortable room, soft mattress, decent bathroom, great balcony. Good location. Recommend.

Close to main street so can be noisy in early night, gets quieter later at night. Shower curtain not effective at keeping the water inside, makes a mess. Front desk a bit disorganised about bookings and other matters, patience solves everything. Breakfast, although a varied spread, doesn't feel worth the money (costs 30% of a night's stay). Nearest laundry place not so close.

Very nice family hotel in the center of Berat. Very good price considering the standard. My room had private balcony and breakfast was included - I'm happy I've chosen this hotel for my stay.

Nothing to complain about

The rooms are so cute and we'll decorated. Everything was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. They let us drop our bags early and when we had an early check out the next day, they prepared a breakfast package for us to take on the road. Very kind! The location is great making walking all around the city easy and enjoyable. It is quiet despite being so central and every detail has been thought about. Highly recommend!
