The food at dinner was very good. The continental breakfast offerings were dissapointing. No croissants, cheese or ham. Only toast and cereal offerings. Lots of cooked breakfasts available though. ALL Staff were very friendly, helpful anf offered very good service. Lots of parking.
Didn't like the purple light shining in the bedroom from the light/mirror in the bathroom. The plug hole had not been cleaned in the shower, so the tray was in danger of overflowing if you did not switch the shower off several times when using it. Lack of ventilation in the room. Heavy bedding in a very hot summer and all the unnecessary cushions!! The sound of a generator/pump all night outside and below our bathroom window.

Efficient friendly welcome by Charlie who later was also Maitre D in the charismatic conservatory dining restaurant. Food was fabulous, both at dinner and breakfast. The chef(s) definitely know how to cook! Quirky, but beautifully appointed apex top floor room with comfortable bed, free standing bath to one side and ensuite bathroom. Beautiful hidden church opposite and short country walks round the village were enjoyed before and after dinner.
It was predictably hot being at the top of the pub, but the windows were openable and a fan was provided.

We found this by chance as we were going to be in the area for 2 days. We booked a room & a table in the restaurant. The bedroom area was just perfect, very clean & tidy, with a range of tea & coffee making facilities. The bathroom was the same with a range of toiletries, which is always handy. After showering & changing we made our way to the dining room, which had a lovely homely feel. We had already viewed the menu on line so we knew what we wanted, the “Fallow & Fire” for 2 which was a bit different from the norm. We weren’t disappointed with the food it was fabulous. We even decided to have a pudding. A very comfy large bed & warm room. Breakfast the next morning was just perfect, opted for the Eggs Benedict which was delicious.

The room was great and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Breakfast was one of the best I have seen for a while and served in the conservatory which set us up nicely for the day.
Only one criticism which was the breakfast staff stroking the dogs in the restaurant during service. Not being a dog owner or particular fan of them in restaurants this was slightly off putting. There was a hand held shower attachment in the bathroom which isn't something we are used to seeing these days.

The food was very good and we had pleasant waitress service.
Unfortunately, our room Skylark was in the loft over the kitchen and public toilets. The extractor fan made lots of noise, and you could hear the toilet hand dryers going on and off constantly and the water pipes making a noise when used. There was not a double room to move into as the hotel was full. We were offered 2 singles, which wasn't adequate. The noises quietened down just after 12 midnight, and we were able to sleep peacefully.

It was a delightful stay. Everything had a quality feel, from the appearance of the room, the ambience in the hotel/pub and the excellent staff. Nice large bathroom. Really good food at dinner and breakfast.
Our room was very hot despite it not having been a particularly warm day. Although there was a fan provided (no A/C) the bedding was much too warm for the season. Some road noise though our room was close to the road so others may be better.

Fabulous room with bath and shower, great breakfasts and killer location. The village is big enough to not feel stranded, and is very accessible to attractions nearby with a car, or an hour's walk. The stand-out was the service though - all staff wer friendly, kind, fun and efficient. This is just so unusual now.
The restaurant evening meals were priced a bit high, and the bar snack menu is small for vegetarians.

The staff go above and beyond the call of duty all unasked. For me it was the 2 lads who carried my suitcase up the stairs on 2 separate occasions ( I couldn't!), the lady running breakfast so good-humoured and caring and the young lady who not only brought painkillers up to my room after I fell and injured myself ( somewhere else, I hasten to add ) but also asked after my state of health days afterwards.
Nothing.

Love the room decor The dining area and bar was beautifully put together - cosy and stylish Food was delicious Staff were friendly and helpful Lovely bed
The room "Little Egret " we had needed touching up - chips in paint were quite noticeable Scuffs on the wall Empty nail and shadow on the wall where a mirror or picture had been The room was also very hot - needs a blind that lets in the breeze

Exceptional staff who were efficient, friendly, cheerful - a real team spirit. Room was very comfortable and furnished with everything we needed. The restaurant was large and airy, and it was pleasant to have a cosy sitting room in which to relax before dinner. Restaurant offered varied menus for breakfast and dinner and servings were very generous! The location was perfect for visiting the coast and places of interest.
Restaurant service could be slow at times but we understand the problems with staff recruitment in hospitality at the moment. An observation and not a complaint: the hotel is very dog friendly, and there were always a lot of dogs in the restaurant at every meal.
