Who was a very nice hotel in a very small village at quite a bit to offer.

When I arrived the room was not quite ready and I was told that it would probably take about 15 minutes. An hour plus later when I ask the lady that was taking care of the bar if my room was ready. She said I have no idea and I said well the gentleman who checked me in said it would be ready. I'm still waiting, oh he went to the bank she went and checked and I was able to check in. I also found that booking through a third party agent as I did was not helpful I had a very unfortunate issue and ask about if breakfast was included the reply back to me from management was no you book through a third party we do nothing other than sell the room to you and that's all you're going to get.

The staff were, without exception, friendly and helpful and the atmosphere in the hotel was a very happy one, everyone was very hospitable, which is what matters most in a hotel. The bar was excellent and our lunchtime "snacks" were 5-star. The hotel parking was close by and free. Our room was comfortable and the bathroom was spacious and had the best shower of any hotel I can remember and with lots of thick white towels.

The only downside but relatively minor, was the road noise while we had the windows open in the hot weather.

From arrival to departure this stay was excellent. Friendly welcome . Room - spacious with exceptional attention to detail - best tea tray of the year.:) Very comfortable bed and pillows just right too.. Shower only which was very efficient and towels generous. Dinner - well would go out of my way to eat here and Breakfast equally as good with the bonus of smiley friendly table service. Practical note - car parking is off site a few yards away - easy walk and town must be very safe - forgot to lock my car and all was safe and sound on my return the next morning.

Great location, comfy bed, excellent breakfast.

It was a little noisy in the room from the street outside, but it’s a very quiet street and I slept well.

The food is outstanding. Everything we ate was delicious and well prepared. Very tasty dishes and lots of choice. The staff were exceptional and super helpful. The hotel was well laid out and lots of nice places to sit. Our room - Snape - was spotless and beautifully decorated with everything you could want during your stay.

This is such a shame but needs to be shared. Snape is room 1 and located above the kitchen. Unfortunately throughout the entire night a chiller/fridge was continuously switching on and off with a constant humming noise coming through the ceiling just below where our bed was located. We hardly slept over the two night stay. This noise was even heard with ear plugs in.

We liked Everything about this hotel!!! I only booked this the night before our trip but oh my goodness what a find . The staff were exceptional in every way and the hotel was practically perfect in every way.

Breakfast was fantastic, choice of hot and/ or cold food, great coffee. Room was well sized, well equipped, very comfortable. The staff are helpful and friendly I stayed during a particularly hot spell of weather and the rooms do not have aircon - however the hotel provided a good quality fan which was very helpful and meant that my stay was still comfortable. Dinner is a little bit on the pricey side, however you get what you pay for and the meal which i ordered was very high quality. (Photos from local morning run)

I liked everything. No air con - but great fan! No car park - but designated hotel parking just round the corner.

The location was great - breakfast available or there was a close by coffee shop. Staff were really friendly, welcoming and helpful, which is always appreciated. Rooms were large and plenty of space, though we only stayed one night. Comfortable and clean beds.

The rooms were a bit on the warm side and the fan didn't alleviate this as much as we'd hoped. However, it was very warm outside when we stayed, so not purely down to the hotel's set up. Would have been great to have a better fan/cooler/air conditioning for a slightly more comfortable stay.

Booked the spacious room for one night. Beautiful room and bathroom with coffee and tea making facilities . Staff couldn't be faulted, very friendly and can't do enough for you . Parking was free a short distance from the hotel. Breakfast was excellent.Highly recommend.

Restaurant not fully open for dinner on a Monday night so had to travel but this is a common issue in this area in February and wasn't major as we had a car. Didn't like having to pay a £50 holding fee on check in when the room had already been paid for in advance of arrival and this is not mentioned anywhere on booking.com terms and conditions for this hotel. It was however promptly returned later in the day after checkout .

The Bell Hotel Saxmundham was nothing other than *Outstanding* despite nearing the end of complete renovation works. This didn’t matter to us at all. The House Manager Ashley was just brilliant he couldn’t do enough for us and was extremely professional, well spoken and dressed really very smart as a Manager in hospitality should be. Callum who also works there was also most efficient and very helpful indeed.

There was nothing at all we didn’t like. our immediate impression being escorted into our room by Callum was WOW this is really spectacular. The interior design and colour ways are A* . The Hotel’s location on the quintessentially British High Street was picture perfect. parking was a 2 minute walk upwards behind the hotel. The breakfast choice was more than plentiful everting was just fabulous without fault. Saxmundham is just a short 10-15 minute taxi trip to the unbelievable Wilderness Reserve in Yoxford where we were attending a wedding.
