The Brudenell is a very likeable hotel. It is an old hotel in the process of modernisation. While its public areas are still a little tired in parts, the bedrooms and ensuite facilities (to judge from our experience) are up-to-date, comfortable and quiet. (We had an excellent kingsize bed.) The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts were very good. The hotel's location cheek-by-jowl with the North Sea is a great attraction. The beach facing rooms will have a splendid view, but the view from our room at the rear of the hotel over the Alde estuary was lovely. We are glad we stayed at the Brudenell, and will stay there again.

The hotel is as close as you can get to the beach and the seaview rooms are worth the extra cost, especially with the comfortable kingsize beds. A provided Xpelair air-conditioner helped keep the room temperature down. Breakfast and dinner offer a good choice of quality food served by cheerful and efficient staff. Aldeburgh high street and various seaside walks are just minutes away.

Bathroom was small. Car parking is tight - we found it best to reverse along the street immediately in front of the hotel which is closed at one end and has unrestricted parking.

Dinner on-site was excellent - I didn't expect to opt for the most expensive meal (Catch of the Day - Halibut) but I am so glad that I did! It was wonderful! Breakfasts (included in price, so could pick from both Conti and English) were great and set me up for the day. Staff were incredible - really felt like all of them were wholly there to make our stay perfect. Top tip - Rooms at the front with a sea view are at a premium, but rooms at the back have, to my mind, a vastly superior and more interesting view over the rivers, fens, landscape etc...

Bar prices could be lower, but it's a small niggle...

Check in v welcoming. Staff polite, friendly & helpful. Room very comfortable for a standard double, bed lovely& pillows too. As we requested plenty of water made available in each room. Most staff we met were really lovely! Breakfast was just 'Wonderful' nothing was too much bother...We felt very looked after which is how a special break away should feel. Bar staff were great at serving us, prior to going out and when we returned. All in all a 'Gem' of a place to stay!

Having to pay for parking? as parking at hotel limited in small car park/garage spaces...So have to use the public car park -which is very close by to be fair. The hotel is quite warm-However not a huge problem for us as weather was cold!! I asked if i could buy one of the 'Brudenell' glass water bottles from the room as a 'Keepsake' from our trip but got told rather 'Brusquely' 'NO we dont sell them'!!........'A Terrifically missed marketing opportunity' if i may say so! Im sure im not the only person who would like one!-Apart from these minor bits....We had a great Stay!

Great location Not as wide a choice for fish on the menu- my reason for booking Darren your chef only does 2 fish dishes per evening. If I’m staying for 5 days there should be more choices. He is an excellent chef and is wasted on the rest of the menu. Use him more!!

The hotel is located in a fishing location yet only 2 fish dishes per night. I had whitebait but these were cooked from frozen. If you can freeze whitebait you can freeze other fresh fish to give customers a wider choice of menu.

Position, food, staff and general ambiance. This is one of our favourite hotels. The restaurant is excellent for food both at breakfast and dinner. The staff are always attentive. We will definitely return.

Chinese toiletries in the bathroom. They were slightly short staffed which caused our room not to be serviced on one. However we were provided with new towels and water which was sufficient.

The location is absolutely fantastic. The breakfast we had was very good although slightly disjointed in the service, but the staff were really friendly.

Mixed feelings about a few things: parking is not easy for the hotel, we did find a spot eventually. The biggest issue is the value for money. Very expensive for the size of room! Minor issues included the TV did not work very well, temperamental shower, and there were traces of biscuit on the room chair from previous guests.

Fantastic location right on beach. Room had sea view and was luxurious. Breakfast was very good. Staff friendly and parking either in car park or outside the front which we managed to get.

TV signal in room was intermittent at best. Were told that mobile and TV signal always iffy in Aldeburgh but one cant help thinking that fibre input would solve that? Not there particularly to watch TV but was the Olympics so disappointing not to be able to catch up days action. But minor gripe.....overall was an excellent comfortable stay.

Friday to Sunday staff were excellent, friendly, and attentive, especially the young lad who supported Ipswich football team. All the food we had was tasty and well presented. The location was superb to explore this lovely seaside town. The lounge was a relaxing place to sit and watch the sea.

Only a little moan was the staff on the Monday morning breakfast service. The wait was longer than the previous days. My order was wrong, and they failed to replenish parts of the continental breakfast.

We stayed in room 210, which was a hidden gem and worth every single penny. We have booked another 2 stays for 2 nights, both in room 210. My advice would be to pay the extra and request room 210, you won't regret it.

Absolutely nothing. the food was great. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and breakfast was amazing. Drinks were really good, the service was fantastic and the staff were super friendly.
