We arrived in St. Gallen by train from Zurich Airport, and the hotel was 2 mins across the road from the train station - easy walk and to pull luggage. We stayed 3 wonderful nights. The hotel was an easy 10 - 15mins walk from the old town. Beautiful city to visit with lots of beautiful architecture and surrounding alps that seemed just in our backyard. Loved the UNESCO Cathedral, the textile museum, loved the walk up the bell tower of St Lawrence Church with a fantastic view, loved the funicular ride and then walk up to the lake in the alps walking alongside the paddocks where the cows with their bells grazed. Very clean town - felt very safe. Used the free visitor tickets from the hotel to ride the train to see the countryside on our last afternoon. Very spacious, clean, comfortable rooms well-appointed with a view, welcoming and helpful staff, great atmosphere, lift to rooms, amazing breakfast (anything you could wish for) and the breakfast lady a treasure. The in-house sports bar has great food reasonably priced.

Nothing - would like to visit the town again and stay in the same hotel - Metropol Hotel.

When I looked at Booking.com for a hotel in St. Gallen, the notice said there was only one room left in the city. The cost was noticeably higher than I was looking for. The location was exactly what I needed so I went with it. Be sure to read the hotel emails sent out ahead of time. The notice said there would not be an agent at the hotel to welcome guests. They gave a passcode to the front door and gave instructions on how to locate the room key. I would have preferred an agent welcome me. Getting onto the WiFi was not as convenient as at other hotels; once on the internet, it worked fine.

Very good location if you are traveling on Swiss rail. When you walk out of the rail terminal, the hotel is right across the street. Maybe 100 foot walk. My wife and I arrived 3 hours early, but the nice gentleman at the desk, held our bags for us and then had them put in our room after it was ready to be occupied. Good room, all fixtures in good condition. Nice and friendly employees. Good breakfast with a view of the main street and terminal area. City transportation is immediately outside the main door. The hotel has numerous restaurants in the area as well as one in the hotel. We were only there for two days so we did not have a chance to check it out. . The city as a Free visitor card for all of you public transportation so you can even go to Lake Constance for free if you want and still tour the city of St.Gallin.

All seemed good for us as we had no complaints

First of all: the location of the hotel is absolutely amazing within a short reach from the train station and also very near the city center for exploring. The rooms were quite nice and comfortable, though a bit small. But that didn’t cause any inconvenience. The breakfast was great even though there were not many of us staying at the moment in the hotel, the staff still bothered to get a good and varied breakfast ready for us.

Unfortunately the process of city tax payment was organised extremely poorly, which created a lot of unexpected inconveniences. I truly hope that staff or hotel management will pay more attention to this not to create so many problems for the guests.

Literally across the street from the train station, bus/ tram lines but no noise or other issues, only convenience!. Large Very pleasant room with view of clock tower. Breakfast was excellent and in a nice setting. Front desk man was very helpful and helped me make the most of my time there, plus all of his suggestions to my queries worked out very well. Felt safe as female solo traveler. Appreciated the St Gallen transport pass and Aldi type store one block away for wine, snacks, etc. Would stay there again for sure. Had a "chocolate" massage 2 blocks away, took the bus up to the nearby park with lakes and view of Bodensee a quick ride away using the pass, but don't try to walk all the way up there, use the free bus!

The hotel is conveniently located across the train station and the tram stops, which also means it can be a little noisy. However, guests are provided with ear plugs which really help to block out the noise from the trains. Very close to the old town which is within walkable distance. St. Gallen is an alternative but great base for those who are looking at visting the Alpstein / Appenzellar region but also wants the convenience and flexibility of adjusting travel plans, as there are a number of regions that are easily reachable under a 2-3 hour time frame via train. Room is very clean.

Location perfect close to raillway station. Room was clean and spacious. I like that I could open the window. It was a little noisy during the night. Breakfast was excellent. The lady serving the breakfast was very nice.

I didn't like that there was not staff when arrived to hotel. The room number and floor number written on envelope with the key and instructions was wrong. The lady at reception during the first morning was not able to print the bill for tourist tax.

Staff are very friendly, professional, and helpful. The room was clean. The location was great, close to the city center, and public transportation was straight in front of the hotel. Which is easier for us who come for business trip. Breakfast available. All we need for our stay is very well accommodated.

There was a burst water pipe happened. It was, of course, a big inconvenience for us. But the staff handled the problem professionally. They organized what we needed perfectly and very helpful. Communication went pretty well. We sure will be back for our next business trip to St. Gallen and definitely recommend this hotel.

Location is great, you can see the SBB station from the window. It's literally across the street. The monastery is also quite close and there are many shops around. It was very clean, bed was really comfortable, breakfast was excellent! Staff was kind and let us leave our bags at the reception while we did some sightseeing.

The rooms could use a little refreshment. It's not a new hotel, that's clear, but the furniture and room door were scratched and it doesn't look so nice anymore.

The corner room was spacious with good air conditioning. The breakfast was good had a variety of choices and staff was very responsive to any requests as well as keeping the food fresh. The front desk staff was excellent and informative to what there is to see and how to get to different sites from the hotel. She was also helpful in our requests for information, extra maid service, and assisting with luggage as needed. The proximity to many attractions was a plus. I would definitely stay here again. I see in other reviews that there is an issue with noise levels, we were on the 5th floor and the noise level was minimal considering we were in an urban area.
