Our stay at Quinta de Coalhos was truly fantastic. This quinta located in a beautiful little castle, offers a serene and peaceful environment that is perfect for a relaxing holiday. The garden is breathtakingly beautiful and well-maintained, adding to the charm of the place. The host was exceptionally friendly and attentive, making our stay even more enjoyable. Everything was meticulously cared for, from the rooms to the breakfast. I highly recommend Quinta de Coalhos to anyone looking for a quiet and beautiful place to stay in Portugal.

Our stay here was like a dream. From the fairytale house, the garden with the statues and luxurious swimming pool, to us adopting a family of cats, what more can I say! A big thumbs up to the people that take care of this place and especially the lovely couple who took care of the cats and helped us look for them on a rainy morning and made a delicious breakfast.

I loved the space full of big trees that cast shade and make the place cool and comfortable even on hot summer days. The room was beautiful and spacious, I loved the design of the bathroom a bit more than the room. The whole house was incredibly decorated with antiques, furniture and paintings were amazing! My daughter loved the swimming pool, our host's dog, and the trampoline!

The place is a few km away from the city, it is actually nice, for privacy and quietness, but public transportation is not great in the area, so if you don't own a car you'll depend on the taxis, ask their number when you arrive!

It was a fabulous experience in the middle of Portugal. The place is beautiful and eccentric. The pool was a welcome addition. And the owner is the most welcoming host who will take good care of you. The restaurant he had recommended was the best in our travels around Portugal. Please, follow his advice and you will not be disappointed!

We stayed in the little house. We did not mind it being old and tired — it is part of the charm. But it could have been a little cleaner. Nothing major, though. The breakfast is basic — which is fine too. But - it would have been so nice to have proper coffee!

Breakfast was simple continental but tasty and fresh. Location in Coalhos was very convenient to Abrantes, Constanca and Sardhoal.

We had everything we needed whenever we asked, but it could be helpful for some guests to receive a more detailed set of welcoming instructions (here is where you find the beach towels, here is how to work the air conditioner, etc)

After spending a night in this magical place, I am really surprised that the note is not 10! It is like sleeping in a museum, it is like changing time and space, so wonderful. Very beautiful decoration, very kind hospitality, we had the chance to meet cute doggy Prada and listen to the story of the house from the owner. Everything was perfect. (And wifi was working normally we didn’t have any issue on that)

maybe the breakfast could have some more options but as we went out of « season » we can’t complain.

It was so peaceful. I liked the style, very traditional and elegant. The owners were absolutely fantastic Alberto and hid Daughter not forgetting his beautiful Jack Russell dog. The kindness was incredible you felt part of the family . Great experience away from the Costas.

Nothing . Probably I would of liked the hotel to have a bar and snacks , as the location, where it was necessary to drive to nearest restaurants etc, but overall it was so beautiful.

The hotel is like a little Castle. silent property around. stepping out of the room one can sit under the trees, enjoy a drink and feel being anywhere in a different world

the breakfast is a bit basic but fulfills totally it‘s purpose.

We weren't only guests, we felt as friends of Mr. Alberty, the owner of the hotel. He was really kind and nice, he helped us with all we weren't able to solve ourselves because of language. His hotel is really wonderful, romantic and peaceful place, we wanted to stay there forever 🙂 Breakfast were delicious, rooms beautiful (we had even a fireplace in our apartment!), staff kind and helpful. Thanks for everything! We hope that we can return one day.
