Staff before arriving and on arrival were good with answering queries. Room had very good air con, lots of power points including each side of the bed. Free WIFI worked well. Had a large flat TV. Had a small balcony. Small room but decorated lovely and was very efficiently laid out. Bathroom was large and good water pressure in shower. We asked for a kettle and 2 mugs and they kindly gave them to us for our room (much appreciated). No mini fridge in room etc.

If on a high floor like us, be prepared for a lot of stairs as there is no elevator. If coming by car, unloading bags is on an extremely busy street and not easy. The car parking that Tomar staff will provide details for is about a 3 to 5 minute walk away (2 large car parks, very easy to get a free park for however long you wanted) if you are not comfortable unloading near the accoms.

Very clean and tidy. Kind and helpful staff. Easy access with your own unique code system. TV has English spoken channels. Fun decorations in the room. No disturbance from other visitors. Just a couple minutes from the old town. Great food market on Saturday just by the “modern” bridge. Nice breakfast but also plenty of cafes open. The walk up to castle is well worth it.

The room has great double glazing so you hear little traffic noise but I prefer to sleep with my window open. Personally I like to have breakfast a little earlier than 8.30 when it starts. For all over Tomar, you do need to do a bit of research for parking. There is public parking for 6€ day or find locations in town where it is free. I parked just across the river a 5 minute walk from the hotel, there is also parking on the other side of the road but not every day depending on markets . Eg flea market on Sunday

Our room was bright and very clean, with a nice sized bathroom and excellent shower. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and provided a really nice breakfast each morning (we paid for breakfast). Thomar Story is located in a perfect location to explore both sides of the river, and the walk up to the Castle and Convent is about 20 minutes. It's an easy 5 minute walk to the cathedral and main square, which are beautiful lit up at night. Free parking across the river is 5-8 minute easy walk. Our room was very quiet at night.

Everything was great.

The staff is very warm and friendly. It really felt like I was staying with family. The breakfast was delicious with nice variety - freshly cut fruit, eggs, pastels de nada (Portuguese custard tarts), breads and a choice of coffees, teas and hot chocolate. The room was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. It is a very short walk (5 minutes?) to the center of town and also 5 minutes from the train station.

I know others have complained about the lack of an elevator. No one likes carrying their bags upstairs but it really wasn't so bad, and if that's an issue, you could request a lower level room, and I'm sure the friendly staff would help if asked.

Good location in the heart of Tomar. The room was very comfortable and clean; staff were helpful and considerate. They made the extra effort to have gluten-free bread for me at breakfast - something that many hotels and guest houses didn't do. I have celiac disease, so asked each property when booking whether their breakfast had gluten-free options. Most simply responded that there were options available - Thomar Story was one of the few that actually provided gluten-free bread.

It would have been nice if there was an elevator - but we hadn't expected one in an old building in the heart of Tomar and staff helped carry our luggage upstairs, so it really wasn't a problem.

The room was spacious and comfortable, and the location in relation to food and sightseeing was perfect. I didn't have to walk more than 15 min for anything. Often less. Restaurants, grocery store, castle etc. All super close.

Parking sucked. I was there on a Thursday night so one of the 3 recommended parking lots was unavailable due to a weekly market. The closest free parking was full and the farthest parking was also full. I had to pay for parking for an hour and check back on the other parking lots to find a free spot eventually. This took time out of my sight seeing. What I learned though was there is free parking at the castle. So if you arrive before 5 pm, when the free spots start to empty, go there. Enjoy a visit of the castle and its an easy 10-15 min walk down into town. Then later, go move your car to the free spot across the bridge. P1.

The location is great - 5 min from the central square and very close to the train station. We had a room with the view of the caslte, which was very nice! Comfy bed, nice powerful shower, extra pillows and a cover. Would highly recommend for a short stay in Tomar! We didn't have breakfast. The staff were super helpful!

Not a complaint at all, just an interesting quirk of our top-floor room, the bed was on a raised platform in a rather small space. So you can't really walk around it. There is some shelving around, but we had to scooch down to get out of bed, which is a bit tricky at night. Otherwise, a very comfy sleep...

The Thomar Story Guest House was perfect! It was super cute, comfortable, clean and in a great location. They were amazing and very welcoming and went above and beyond. They breakfast was fresh, inexpensive and not crowded! Location was walking distance to restaurants and the Castle and Convent. Wish we would have stayed longer!

Nothing bad just note that there is no lift as it is a building over 100 years old. They were kind enough to hold our luggage downstairs and while we visited the Castle and Convent.

The room was very clean and quiet. It was hot in Thomar and the air condition was awesome ! Thomar is small the Thomar Story is located just off the main pedestrian mall. Once you're checked in you can walk everywhere in town and up to the castle. The hostest was very pleasent and helpful and breakfast provided a good variety of food.

We were on the top floor and the building does not have a lift. Be prepared carry your bags up the stairs to your room. The hotel is on a busy street along the river, there is no place to stop, drop your bags and check-in with out impeding thru traffic.

We had 3 rooms - one for me and my husband, one - for our daughters, and one - for my mom. Everyone were happy with their accommodation. Our rooms were next to each other, they were clean, very comfortable, and had everything you need for a short stay.

Everything was great, fortunately, we don't eat much for breakfast, but it would be good to have something hot - like, eggs, porridge, etc.
