Wonderful location! Wonderful amenities in the room. It was a dream to stay here and be lulled to sleep by the sound of the crashing waves, and to wake up to them in the mornings with a beautiful sunset. The breakfast in the patio is delicious and comes with that incredible view and sunrise over the venetian fortress. The bathtub in the room is incredibly luxurious and fun. The couch and the mattress are both so comfortable and lovely to fall asleep on. There is a nice big balcony overlooking the breakfast and restaurant patio to enjoy the sunset from. The staff is warm and kind.

Everything was perfect except the parking, which is a struggle everywhere in Rethymno. But since Thalassa is at the edge of town it is actually easier to find parking around 300 m away close to the bus stop just before the town begins.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Thalassas Boutique Hotel! There were so many beautiful spaces to explore in the small hotel. First, our room was beautiful, a real gem! White beams, very tall windows and a balcony all overseeing the sea, not only a fridge but also a little kitchen sink and coffee making facilities, and finally an upstairs comfortable bed besides a bathtub with a view of the sea. Second, a small excellent fish restaurant with an amazing terrasse full of white comfortable wooden chairs, benches and tables of different styles, is certainly a place to feel at home. The food matches this feeling, besides traditional Cretan and Greek dishes even sushi is served. Gourmets should know that this is the right address to become a bit adventures; for example try the seafood moussaka or the risotto with shrimp and Ouzo sauce, they are delicious! Third, the staff made us not only feel at home but seemed to have invited us as cherished guests into their historical building from the 19th century helping us to get to know their culture and the surroundings! We are specifically grateful for the organisation of transport from and to the airport as well as to Rethimno but also cultural (Knossos) and leisure trips (Preveli Beach). The best adventure we were advise to undertake nevertheless was the walk along Myli Gorge with a stop at the tavern; how beautiful! Thalassas Boutique Hotel is certainly worth visiting not only for relaxation but also for excursions and the delicious food!

Sometimes there seems to be a problem with the pipes of the sanitary system, a bad odor is coming from them. Hopefully the problem is fixed soon!

We had a room with a sea view, which was both spacious and beautiful. Wonderful bed too. The sound of waves breaking on the beach was the only thing we heard, making it a truly wonderful experience!

On the beach next to the hotel, there was a notable amount of plastic litter. One day, we took it upon ourselves to clean it up. Additionally, we noticed several lovely stray cats near the hotel. We sincerely hope that the hotel is taking care of them by providing a bowl of water (also in winter time) and arranging for them to be neutered with free TNR-programs for example.

The location being right on the seafront, is excellent. Although being out of the town, the walk in is easily done in 20 mins. The view of the old fort siting having breakfast, with the waves lapping the wall is just stunning as is it’s location to some of the best restaurants in the town.

If there were some ceiling fans in the main part of the hotel it would make it more comfortable, whist waiting for taxi services, as it was extremely hot during the time we stayed.

I love the actual luxury you feel walking into the place. There is a pool as you walk down some stairs you see modern yet ancient building. The front desk was Dahlia and she was overjoyed to greet us and made our 3 day weekend d great. Our room is dramatic with a wall of stone and a loft that I can actually walk around !!! Then next to the bed is a tub again modern and I get it the tub ! I am 6 foot and 250 lbs. the breakfast buffet is fresh and different and Aris does an amazing job. We drink a lot of coffee and he is always available. The hotel is on the sea and we swam every day ..... you can wade out for a while before it gets deep. The shower is amazing and again the service .... we asked for a glass of milk Sunday night for some bake goods we got but all the stores were closed and no drama so quick the front desk is amazing .... they ordered a massage in my room 60 euros and he is a physical therapist and was perfect ...../

The staff of the hotel was amazing as well as the restaurant attached. Very friendly. Room was extremely nice. We loved the loft element being able to come in from a day at the beach or out and about and showering immediately downstairs while keeping the upstairs (bedroom) free of sand, etc. Amazing boutique hotel. 7 Seas Crete (restaurants) Peppers (restaurant) across the street were top notch and have my wife still talking about them.

We loved the style and comfort of this beautiful hotel Everything was superb in terms of the finish of the room, and the bedding was of exceptional quality. The bath was wonderful, as was the shower . The small kitchen was well equipped. The breakfast buffet was delicious and beautetifuly presented, and the chef was welcoming The terrace was a fantastic spot to enjoy breakfast It was an absolute joy to stay at Thalassa for the night en route to the airport, and I would highly recommend it . Although the hotel was on a busy road the soundproofing in the room enabled a great nights sleep

It was great, my only issues were that the bathroom was not very well lit and the inner curtains had come off their hooks up top. Both minor. I could not figure out how to access the terrace, but the weather was a bit cold so I didn't want to. I could have asked.

Beautiful hotel, wonderful staff, great location. Hotel is immaculate and so beautifully decorated, with great facilities. The staff were the best - all so kind, welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The breakfast was delicious, and restaurant is one of our favourites (beautiful fresh seafood, great wine selection, dining right on the water). The beach outside is perfect for us - not crowded, great for swimming, and right on your doorstep. The hotel is a short 15-20 minute walk into the beautiful old town, and the bigger beach just beyond that if you want an organised beach (bars and sun loungers for hire etc). We first visited Thalassa 4 years ago and it is just as we remember it, which is very impressive - we look forward to returning soon!

For many years of my travelling I finally found the ideal property to stay in. Everything was exceptional from my first step inside. Super friendly staff, always on duty, always ready to help. The room had 2 levels: dinning with sofas and small kitchen on the ground level and the bedroom with real King size bed and jacuzzi on the upper level. The bathroom is very modern with top level shower cabin with massage. Very nice cosmetics including shampoo, shower gel and conditioner. The hotel has a small pool in the inner yard and own beach area on the sea side with umbrellas and sunbeds. My special thanks are for the restaurant - this was my amazing culinary experience I ever had. Seafood, wines, service - everything turned out to be much higher than my wildest expectations! The chief, Arias, was personally communicating with guests and giving a lot of superb advices, one of the most professional chiefs I ever met. And, of course, his perfectly selected team of cooks and waiters. Overall - the Thalassa Boutique Hotel is a truly perl on the Rethymno seaside. If you are looking a place to stay and can afford the budget then this is an absolutely ideal solution for you, with no doubt!
