Only had the light breakfast first two days as I was meeting friends in the area for lunch on both occasions, which was ample and was only charged a minimal amount ,on third day had full breakfast which was cooked and presented very well,more than I could eat. Property was great with an old fashion feel agood place to spend a relaxing few days,would liked to have stayed longer but flight schedules home made our stay short.

Can't think of any negative other than my onsuite was a bit small but that was due to the footprint of the old building and what they had to work with

The staff were very friendly and helpful, even before we arrived at the hotel with answering queries. The room was quite large and clean and the location was close to where we were attending a wedding at Rutland Water.

The bathroom had a large window which did not have frosted glass, just a net curtain over it, so privacy was an issue as the room was facing other buildings. For the price of the room I would expect some complimentary biscuits along with the tea and coffee. The breakfast was not included and could have been better, the sauted potatoes, tomato and mushroom were not cooked enough.

The George Inn was beautifully decorated, extremely friendly and helpful staff and the food was amazing! The hotel is old and rather quirky in places and the room was very clean with a very good shower, all decorated very tastefully. The bed was a little firmer than I would have linked, but that's just my preference. However, I did sleep well. Nice and peaceful and I was not disturbed by other guests. All of the food was amazing! Delicious evening meal and a fantastic breakfast. I will definitely stay there again!

Whilst the public WiFi provided was some of the best I've used, I unable to use this for work due to security reasons. My phone signal only managed 3G which was very intermittent, so I was unable to hotspot from my phone. This however is nothing the Hotel can control and is certainly not their fault or issue.

Nice olde worlde pub in the centre of town. Lovely bedroom next to courtyard, with a large comfy bed and seating area. We ate in the restaurant, food n wine were very good.

We thought the bathroom needed a bit of attention, the wood panelling looked a bit shabby, the flooring maybe changed to tiles instead of lino, and we struggled turning down the temperature of the water in the shower. Also, the room was lovely and quiet, until about 6am, when people started walking about upstairs, making the ceiling creak loudly and also noise of people talking loudly from the courtyard, so we could get back to sleep. The cost of the room for 1 night was a bit pricy, especially as no breakfast included £157!

A small town atmosphere with some quirky staff. When I left for the day and came back it felt like coming home. No pretensions and if you are a resident of the hotel you are looked after, even if the restaurant is full or the bar is closing. Super clean, classy and quiet. I think I’ll go back next month!

The weather but nothing they could do about that. Or the noise from the market setting up outside the front of the hotel. I advise that you just keep your windows closed.

This is a brilliant place to stay. Very old building with many original features and right in the centre of Oakham. A good sized free car park at the back of the hotel too. Fantastic terrace. Lots of interesting and original artworks. A superb breakfast and staff were utterly wonderful!! Will visit again.

These may seem a bit minor but sometimes the detail makes a place. The plastic flowers everywhere. We stayed in a hotel recently in Italy and it had real plants and flowers and it makes such a difference. It looks so so tacky and sorry but it is so British. Some of the modern art was totally out of place and honestly quite poor.

Breakfast was lovely, and the gentleman that served us every morning was the most kind and polite man. The hotel itself has lots of character. Also lady manager was very understanding when I mentioned that the room was quite small for both of us, she made it more comfortable by adding an extra bed in the room, as the double was quite small and soft for both of us to sleep in. Cannot fault the staff.

I think the floors were a bit creaky and noisy, espeically at night, who ever is above you or the room at each side, I heard there every movement. Also heard the women beside me whole conversation on the phone most night and mornings, which was quite annoying if you were in bed. Also think its over priced accommodation for the standard room your given.

The check-in staff were very friendly and welcoming and we didn't have to wait long to get into our room (a group arrived just in front of us). The room had good facilities, was exceptionally clean, and overlooked a lovely courtyard. Check-out was just as friendly as arrival, and we were told that we didn't need to move our car immediately from the hotel car park as we were going to have a look around the town before we left.

The room was good but a little on the 'tired' side re the decorating.

Great location. Quaint, old world charm. Spacious room with king size bed and a sofa & coffee table. Large bathroom with plenty of hot water and the bath filled quickly.

Churlish, unfriendly man who checked us in and served breakfast. Despite an otherwise great bathroom, the toilet seat was a cheap replacement that didn’t fit properly. Just one round of toast delivered in the toast rack for breakfast. Presumably we could have asked for more but it didn’t look great.

The man on reception and at breakfast was fantastic. He was knowledgeable about the property and owner and shared a story about the owners classic cars. I have one myself and would have liked to meet him. I wish I could have spent more time there.

Some guy challenged me about parking in the hotel car park but he was very polite when I explained I was a resident who had arrived early and the nice man at reception had said it was ok to park there before check in.
