Location is a 15-20 minute walk from the station, however there are not a lot of sidewalks in Taichung so beware that you will have to walk in the street sometimes. It's safe but if you are not used to this it may feel a bit weird. The bus system in Taichung is not very good, so I would recommend taxi or walking & train to most places. This location is a bit of a walk from the main station where you will likely be arriving/leaving via train or Sun Moon Lake. The walk is along the Main Street and you pass a lot of food and drink stores, so as long as you don't mind a little walk it's nice! The hotel itself is really nice and luxurious, exceeded my expectations from the price. Buffet breakfast also had a very large selection.

Overall it was very good. No safe box in the room.

Even though the building doesn’t look great from the outside, the hotel itself was excellent. First and most importantly: their ventilation system was super clean, with no mould anywhere. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the staff was super nice. I would definitely go back.
