The location is great. A walkable, safe and beautiful neighborhood with tons of restaurants, bars and services. We were within walking distance of Lincoln Park and rented bikes to get downtown. The bus and L systems were also within convenient walking distance.

Our room walk a little dark. It faced directly into a neighboring condo building. I will stay here again but I'll ask for a room on an upper floor facing away from the neighboring condo. I also would have loved a coffee machine in the room. They do have coffee in the lobby so that worked. The bathroom was a little dingy and you need to specifically call the front desk for room cleaning. Once we called on the second day, they came every day.

The size of the room was nice. The cleanest of the bathroom was great.The bed was very comfortable. The mini fridge was well stocked and very reasonable price. The check in and out was easy.The lady desk clerk was very pleasant. The fireplace was lit and had a special charm.

The decor wasn't my cup of tea kind of weird. The elevator certification maybe expired. A microwave would be nice in the room instead of the one in the common area. The view out of the window was a filled dumpster and a parking lot not a very scenic view. You can hear the people above you walking around. The heat rattling was something we were not use to. For the price it was a little to outdated.

The location was convenient for our needs, and the room was nice. The bed was comfortable. We didn't take advantage of the tea, coffee, or snacks offered in the lobby because we were too busy. However, I was not pleased that I had to pay over $100 for parking for just two nights and half a day. On the positive side, the parking was conveniently close, which was a pleasant surprise since we weren't prepared for that aspect of our trip.

Having to pay for the parking. And DoorDash is expensive. Not the hotels fault, but again I was not expecting the prices we paid.

This place is exactly as described. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. If you are looking for tons of amenities on site(pool, weight room, breakfast etc...)you will need to go elsewhere and pay A LOT more money. There was parking just down the street for $25 for 24 hours. They do not have a fitness center, but there was free access to one right by the parking garage. We were able to walk to Wrigley Field from here and overall we loved the location.

I can't say I didn't like anything about the property. I think the bathrooms could be updated, but they were clean.

Location and walkability, breakfast places nearby, cookies in the afternoon, charm of building, friendly and professional staff. In a city with so many hotels with generic decor, the historic nature of this one was a real plus for me. A bit like Europe.

The bathtub/shower floor is insanely slippery; I would encourage the hotel to include a detachable rubber mat in all rooms, and the tile and floor grout could use a wee bit of scrubbing. It also might be time for new pillows.

Nice old-style hotel--a lot of the new Chicago hotels feel very cookie-cutter, this is more lived-in. I liked having an old radiator in the restroom; kept things plenty warm despite being zero degrees outside and felt nostalgic. Also a quick 10-15 minute walk to the Diversey Brown Line stop and many local amenities (Trader Joe's and Fresh Market within a few blocks, lots of nightlife in the area).

No real closet; rack in the room for hanging shirts and coats but with limited space.

Location, my room was beautiful - big and spacious. Very clean. Staff were lovely. Loved the cookies in the lobby, was super quiet for first 2 nights, thought I was only 1 staying in hotel. Will definitely be back

On last night the people in room next to me were super loud, went on until 3am. No kettle in room, was ok for me this time as my room was right next to lift so took me secs to get downstairs for drink but if I was all way at back of hotel I wouldn't have been happy.

Amazing location, rooms were just as advertised, comfortable mattress and pillows, air-con, easy access to water and coffee in the lobby, the decoration of the lobby was so fun and whimsy!

The humidity made the carpet have a certain… Smell. It quickly dissipated after turning on the air conditioner, so not a big issue, but I think that maybe it’s time to either reconsider the carpets or give them some extra TLC.

We only stayed for two nights, but we would have loved to stay longer. The hotel has a charming retro flair that captivated us right from the beautifully designed hotel lobby. The entire hotel staff is extremely friendly and helpful. A 24/7 coffee and tea bar rounded off the relaxed and cozy hotel experience. The neighborhood is also very quiet and pleasant.

The only downside was that finding parking around the hotel was a bit challenging. Nevertheless, we highly recommend this hotel!

I love the charming, old-fashioned feel of the hotel, and it’s impressively well-maintained.

I stayed in a room with two beds, and one of the mattresses was very soft, as if it was nearing the end of its lifespan. It would be great if the hotel replaced mattresses more frequently. While the mattress was still usable, it sagged noticeably from wear and could have been more comfortable.
