Loved how comfortable and stylish the place was.

Not being greeted on arrival by host. Was difficult to get into the property as had to text passport details for code to get into property. As I had an international phone could not text the host so had to wait outside the property till other guest with US phone could contact the owners for code to get in

So let me start off with this place was excellent. Yes it’s a shared apartment, that’s why you are saving 500 dollars by not getting a hotel. But I swear I think I had the place to myself. It was very clean and spotless. There was a cleaner there every day to spruce up the place and it was perfect for what I needed. The room was dark , which I think is perfect for a room because you need darkness to sleep. Very large modern apartment with the feeling of having it all to myself. It’s a 5min walk to the bus stops and only 20 mins on the bus to almost all attractions. Very happy and you can’t beat it for the price.

This is just me being a princess, but it’s a full memory foam mattress, which some people like but I personally like a firm / hard mattress. But this is me looking for something as the place was perfect.

It's neat, secured, with the essential amenities. I loved that small kettle on the electric cooker, perfect for my tea

One particular administrative staff was acting awkwardly with almost every request right from booking. But there was this other very nice one. I think they should train all the staff to give a consistent impression Also pay attention to the room type you are booking, for you outmost comfort and privacy, choose the rooms with private bathroom especially if you are staying long. The rooms with shared bathroom are cheaper so be conscious of your choice

This was everything I expected. I really just needed a place to rest my head during my work trip. There were a lot of negative reviews discussing issues with the stay and property that I can understand, but I was given very clear information from our hosts and didn't have any issues with their rules. They give you the access code ahead of time which was very helpful since I didn't arrive till almost 3 am. I felt a lot safer during my trip when I found out the other two shared rooms were also women. I was very lucky with that. Despite the negative feedback for cameras in common area I felt my stuff was secure and safe because of it. This was a good place to stay during my first trip to chicago. It's very conveniently closed to multiple bus lines and they were very easy to use!

The location wasn't the most ideal and several Uber drivers would drop my ride for pickup or dropoff because of it. I didn't have much of a problem and had no issues in this area. I brought my own toiletries, but did wish that there were some present. I wish there were hand towels in the bathroom as I constantly forgot having to carry my towel with me Everytime I needed to just wash my hands. I predominately had a nice time here but I don't think I would come back though, as a lot of my business took place downtown and getting Uber rides to and from was both difficult and expensive.

Cleanliness

Like a lot of people said, it was very frustrating to get a hold of the owners when we got there. Said we would Have a code 15 minutes before 3 pm and didn't Recieve anything until I had to send multiple texts saying I'm going to cancel the reservation and call my bank to block the charges. Got in the room about 335ish.

Im so happy i came across Villa Dubois Guesthouse. The whole property is clean and organized, free street parking, neighborhood is quiet. I love the full functional kitchen where you can prepare meals.security cameras around the common area for safety.If you dont mind sharing a space with strangers,this a nice budget friendly place to stay😊

Wood Floors are squeaky so you really have to watch your steps at night when going to the common areas so you wont disturb your housemates 😂

Great location. Not far from downtown, Sox's field, Shopping centers, Rec Centers, very comfy

Parking, Restroom amenities (towels, soap, toothpaste). Lot of time people forget those things or book last minute.

Close to store. White Sox are bike ride away. Staff was friendly. Refrigerator in commons. Bathroom was nice.

Room locks could be improved. More cleaning supplies should be on hand to help guest maintain the house during stay.
