Kevin, on reception was a fantastic help, the room cleaning was great but remember to leave your key at reception. A fabulous breakfast with an outstanding view of old Quito.

The upstairs restaurant is very expensive for us with the exchange rate so did not eat in it. There are very limited shops close by and it is not safe after dark.

The hotel has a lot of character, and even though it is old, it was very comfortable and had all modern conveniences including a lift. It is very high up and so has a beautiful view of the city and surrounding mountains. The staff in the restaurant provided excellent meals as well as cocktails. The complementary breakfast was also delicious.

Because of the height of the hotel, it was difficult to walk anywhere. We used a driver organised by the hotel to go and visit places of interest. Taxis and Ubers are available but we decided to eat in the hotel’s restaurant rather than go out to try any of the local restaurants.

Loved everything about his property. Except maybe the walk up the hill to it, but that’s not at the fault of the hotel haha. It was perfectly located in the center of Quito, the staff were very nice and welcoming, my room was perfect and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. I also loved the decor and style of the hotel, I had to walk around inside to admire it. A big thank you to Judith and David for their warm hospitality during my stay at this hotel, their exceptional and kind guest services made my stay even more amazing.

Nothing really I can say that I didn’t like about the property. It was all around great and I highly recommend it!

Very friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. Excellent dinner and drinks in the hotel restaurant. Bed was very comfortable. First night was very very cold despite using all blankets. I had to wear my winter coat to sleep! The next time I stayed, the room had a portable heater. There was a duet playing beautiful music in the restaurant my 2nd time there, which was just so enjoyable!

Difficult to enter hotel as I waited at main gate and nobody opened it until I had called the hotel by phone. Parking a car is also challenging in the very tight parking space up the big hill by the hotel.

The staff and the view! The staff from the front desk to the the restaurant was exceptional. James, Paz, and David went above and beyond to make sure our stay was both comfortable and enjoyable. They were great!! Stayed in room 14 and the view of the old city was phenomenal! One of the best views from a hotel room I have ever experienced. In fact, the views from most of the hotel was awesome.

Whule the view from our room was terrific, it was a bit small. Not anything the staff could do about it though. Having some place to hang/store our clothes would have been helpful.

The staff, the service, and the food are exceptional. I especially want to call out David at the front desk and our waiter at the restaurant who went above and beyond to help us during our four-day stau.. David was always available and gave us great tips for what to prioritize in terms of museums and churches so we could maximize our time in Quito-- and his recommendations were always on point. His and the restaurant staff's care was evident at all times. For instance, we had an early morning checkout and David offered to provide us a boxed breakfast which was so thoughtful -- and as always, delicious. The personal touches really elevated our stay and we would happily return.

The shower staff in our room was quite small -- but this was a minor annoyance given that we loved so many aspects of this place.

We stayed in room 14 top corner with beautiful views. The breakfasts were great. Staff was always welcoming and helpful and accommodated our unexpected 3:30 am arrival with grace. The location is up a large hill which we walked once and then used $2 Uber rides to get back to the hotel. We ended up liking the restaurant so much we had dinner there 3 nights. Lovely art collection throughout.

It was the older section of the hotel so windows weren’t soundproof and we did hear some noise at night although hotel is on a quiet residential street.

Beautiful, historical hotel with a great view of historic Quito. Great staff who were always available, friendly and helpful. There is a restaurant on the top floor with amazing dinners and commanding views. Be sure to eat dinner there during your stay. Breakfast was served in the same restaurant and was also delicious.

Given that this is a historic property, it’s not surprising that our room was a little small. But I believe the pictures are accurate. Also consider that the price of wonderful views is a steep, but not too long walk up from the historic center.

Reserve jacuzzi before as it takes 4 hours to heat up! Breakfast is lovely and presented beautiful. It would be nice to propose some Ecuadorian pastries rather than French ones. Although this is the only place we have had where the croissants and pains au chocolat were nice. Staff speak English . Views from hotel are brilliant. You can have breakfast outside on the terrace which for me is awesome. Breakfast will fill you up for the rest of the day and you can ask for refills if needed. Many different areas and lounges where you can rest, relax. Even an area other games and a telescope on the restaurant. Tea available in the room. Late check out available without extra charge

I pick up this hotel for our group by the photos and previous good reviews. It didn't disappoint. The views from the terrace were stunning, staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms clean with comfortable beds. Fruit plates on breakfast so tasty. We had a steam sauna and whirlpool bath on the second night. Definitely would choose Vista del Angel also on the next visit.

The streets of the Old Town are steep and narrow. Logistically challenging. Requires good fitness.
