We absolutely loved our impromptu stay at the hotel. We were playing golf at Saunton just down the road and rather than have a long travel back after a super day, we decided to have a 'lay over' and head off in the morning. So although it was a very short stay, we enjoyed the spa, dinner in the restaurant, and breakfast the following morning before heading home. Will definitely book another stay again.

Nothing we didn't like. Only comment really we did think the B&B rate did seem a little high for a Monday night in February. I appreciate we could have booked a lesser spec room to help keep the price down and it was our choice to spend more for the wonderful experience of the sea view (which it was). It did just feel a tad high for an out of season Monday night.

The room was a higher spec than I believe I paid for which was appreciated. Very spacious. On arrival it was lovely to be offered a glass of prosecco or water and on departure, again we were sent away with a cold bottle of water. Lovely touches. We also had assistance with our bags to our room. I appreciate this as we'd had a long journey and it doesn't seem to be a 'norm' anymore. The breakfast was first class. So much choice and beautifully presented. We would have liked an early start for breakfast but that's only because we were working. At any other time the opening would be perfect. Again, excellent, friendly staff and the healthy smoothie that was offered as a taster was lovely.

The decor is dated and I was right alongside the main road but you offered a fan which I used and could therefore keep the window closed so no issue there. The shower is quite poor. Needs attention as do the showers in the other 2 rooms on my booking. The decor and showers were an issue in each.

Brilliant staff. Lovely vibe to the hotel. Quality of the food great. Great location/views.

Despite all the great things, I did think £550 a night for a family room was a bit steep. Additionally I’d highlight two areas for improvement: - no aircon: even in 23 degrees, it was getting hot in the room - no ability to buy drinks at the bar: table service only got a bit irritating, albeit the staff were attentive and friendly at all times. I’d still just like to go get a drink when I like, for £550 a night.

Check-in and check-out service was efficient, helpful and gracious. Breakfast was also very good, with lots of fry-up and cereal options. One quibble: I booked my hotel stay through Booking.com. A problem arose when I was charged for my room upon check-out, when I had already pre-paid through Booking.com. Fortunately, your check-out staff were quickly able to see this so I didn't double pay.

One of the two electric car chargers was not working, so I could not recharge my car. The other charger was being used by another hotel patron. Also, it would be good if there was an alternative option to cow's milk on offer for breakfast. Soya or oat milk are increasingly popular alternatives but weren't on display.

The location is amazing especially the view is the main feature of the hotel, you even get to enjoy this from the hot tub in the spa! You can borrow dry robes which is perfect for the beach and even just going for a walk on a cold day! Staff members were very polite and helpful especially on reception and room service!

The bathroom had no character and was very clinical. The room was rather warm (we stayed in January) as there isn’t any air conditioning. Booked at 7am session in the thermal spa and the spa attendant didn’t turn up until 7.15am to let us through

The room was lovely and comfy The spa was amazing and relaxing but I wish we were given more than 45 mins a day... The food was excellent and the chef went out of his way to cater for my allergies which I'm so grateful for! Staff were awesome and so friendly Definitely coming back again xxxx

Just the spa wishing it was more than one lot of 45 mins per day as the thermal spa was so empty all the time so would of been ample room for more people xx

Friendly people and comfortable surroundings. Stunning views from the property along the beach and dunes. Great service from everyone. Lovely old art deco building and style. Always enjoy staying here.

If I'm being really picky, my peppercorn sauce was a bit thin and not peppery enough!! Not much on the menu for dinner, maybe it's because it was a Monday night in the office season.

The view of the sea facing rooms is to die for - absolutely incredible. If you are lucky to get a balcony your room is out of this world. The beds are not the most comfy and I found the pillows really quite hard. If I go again I will take my own. The staff were out of this world on the whole and with my disabled mother they found things for her that we had forgotten to bring which made life MUCH easier for her, which was fantastic. Buffet breakfasts amazing.

They hotel has problems providing food that isn't in the restaurant. There are about 4 options to have at the bar and you can have them only in a certain place. It was really strange and created all sorts of problems for us.

Staff very helpful. When my taxi to a funeral in Dunster failed to show up on the Sunday Paul the porter rang around to find a replacement which was very kind of him.

I was disappointed that despite the fact I'd stayed there several times before they could not find my details. In November I had told them that due to a hip Operation I needed a lift yet the first thing that happened after a long journey was that I was shown to my room up stairs with no lift.
