A very cozy hotel that was worth every penny of its price. Very clean. The staff was friendly and lovely, the breakfast and dinner were delicious, and the room was warm. Maybe a little bit small for three people, but generally alright. You also receive tickets to go to the onsen next door after enjoying a day of skiing. The hotel site also recommended a very cheap ski rental, which we were thankful for. You can also do laundry for free. The hotel has a good bar with local alcohol and some desserts. The closest ski park to the hotel is Tashiro, and it's better than both Mitsumata and Naeba, as it offers a beautiful view of the lake.

The room was a little small for three people, and we had to move the table around to lay the futons. The closest ski park is Tashiro, but it only has one ski rental, so we got our rental at Mitsumata, it was tricky to move ski shoes and ski from Tashiro to Mitsumata and back on the bus as the hotel didn't have its rental or shuttle. But it's very minor considering the price, which the hotel is very worth for.

The whole apartment is a cozy place. Very clean and well equipped. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Dinner provided was also very delicious. We also joined the snowshoe tour and it was very fun. Totally enjoyed it.

As we had huge luggage and our rooms were on 2nd floor, it was tough to bring up and down our luggage. However the staff were very kind to help us. So it was not an issue. If I were to stay there again, I would forward the large luggage to the next hotel instead.

The building and facilities are new and well maintained. The included onsen tickets were really appreciated. The breakfast is good quality and great value. Plenty of sinks and washrooms for if there are many people staying. Having the fire on in the main room is lovely to come back to after a day out in the cold. The staff were also very attentive and accommodating for our many questions and requests over messages.

One of our breakfasts was an hour late as the staff didn't arrive on time.

The staff were very friendly, they offer a breakfast and dinner service which was very good value. The location is amazing, very close to multiple ski resorts and the views are amazing! We would definitely go back there.

The public transport between towns took us a little while to understand as majority of the bus drivers do not speak English

The room was comfortable, the property is clean and has all amenities such as washers & dryers. With my wife we enjoyed the breakfast and dinner there too (option I recommend as there is not much in the village). Friendly staff too that speaks English! Great location as I believe Tashiro is better than Naeba ski resort and also this is one of the best property I stayed in the area. The property is newly refurbished. I mostly stayed in Mitsumata before but Tashiro in my opinion offers a better convenience as the gondola is never busy and also there is a ski rental next to it so you can leave your equipment every nights at the rental to avoid walking with it. The next morning the equipment will be ready.

There are some minor issues with stink bugs and beetles but there are small, harmless to human and mostly attracted by crops, light, heat and humidity. They could add hangers in the room but property is new something they can fix I suppose.

The environment and view in the winter is absolutely stunning. Although the lodge itself doesn't offer a hot spring, free coupons corresponding to nights of stay for an adjacent public hot spring was provided.

If you do not have a car, reaching the place could be very troublesome. There are less than 10 bus per day and they only take cash and can be quite crowded so bringing a lot of luggage and ski equipment can be difficult.

I loved this place! It’s a wonderful traditional Japanese hotel. Our room was spacious and comfortable and we had everything we needed. Check in process was online so that made things easier than usual. They give you a complimentary voucher to use the onsen that’s just a few minutes walk away and we really enjoyed it. Would absolutely recommend!

Friendly staff and efficient customer service. Common bathrooms and living spaces are kept clean. There is washer and dryer free to use. Appreciate the complimentary onsen passes.

this is a good place to stay if you want to focus your trip on Kagura Tashiro ski resort but it is far from the city center and the bus doesn’t come too often so if you want to get a taxi it’ll become pricy! Stinkbugs may come but the hotel is taking all preventative measures! however, overall a great stay!

Great for group traveling with communal area, cosy vibe, clean and chic design, kitchen facilities, laundry is convenient, kind helpful staff and very responsive

Beds are tatami so need to get used to that.
