Amanda and Peter are very friendly and helpful and maintain the property to a very high standard. The heated swimming pool was at a perfect temperature for daily lap swimming. Having a community fridge/freezer for unused staples such as butter, spreads, salad dressings etc was a marvellous initiative which saved us from having to stock up on everything for a short stay. Hosts competently booked all transfers and tours which made the process easy.

Noise from guests sitting on adjacent balconies was intrusive at times, but overall, noises from room to room were minimal.

Very close to beach and city centre. Staff were lovely, very eager to please and incredibly helpful. Have never experienced hosts this engaging. There was an excellent selection of brochures, activities and recommendations of things to do around Port. it was evident that Amanda and Peter knew all about local activities and were keen to help us get the best deal. kids loved the pool and the book exchange is a great idea. Loved having our own dryer and washer, plus air dryer. Everything was clean and fresh huge supply of plates and other crockery and kitchen items. We liked the idea of the communal fridge and table. it was very handy when we forgot to buy tomato sauce!

whilst we understand the reasoning behind it, we would have loved to have been given a few more toiletries and replacement of towels after a couple of days.

We spent 5 days at Outrigger. The owners, Amanda and Peter, could not have been more welcoming or helpful. The apartment is in a small unpretentious block, in a great location away from the noise and bustle of the main town, but still easy walking distance. Although nothing fancy, the apartment is very clean, spacious and well appointed with everything you might need if you wish to self cater, plus there is a cute little pool and BBQ area. Amanda and Peter were fantastic "hosts" and made great recommendations for the trips to reef and rainforest that we wanted to take, as well as restaurants, and made the bookings for us, so everything was easy and seamless. We really appreciated their tip to book everything, including restaurants, well in advance. It was a lovely stay that was good value, and we would highly recommend it.

Amanda and Peter were lovely owners, they were readily available if you needed them and are very approachable and nice people. The accommodation was well located, within a 10 minute walk to anything we needed. There was a fully functional kitchen which was perfect for eating dinner in. The pool was lovely. There were Beam scooters (electric scooters) located out front of the apartment which made getting to and from town even easier and allowed us to explore port douglas more. Additionally, Amanda and Peter had it set up so you could view tour brochures at the accommodation and book through them, in hindsight I would have booked through them had I known before I booked my tours originally as this would have been a lot easier.

Peter and Amanda are great hosts and made us feel very welcome. The apartments are very well located close to the centre of Port Douglas with a flat 10 minute walk to the wharf, beach or shops. The apartment was very clean with a full compliment of kitchen and dining utensils for making breakfasts and lunches. There was also a communal fridge and table in the entrance where leftover food was left ... a great idea to reduce waste of perfectly good food!

It would have been good to have a bigger supply of the essentials such as toilet paper, soap, dishwasher detergent, washing machine detergent

My husband and I had a great time staying at the Outrigger. The accomodation was very spacious, clean, quiet and was an easy walk to the main street and beach. The owners are the most lovely couple, super welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. We had an issue getting to an attraction and Amanda sorted it out for us on the spot, we would have been stuck without her! We didn't want to leave!

Awesome place and over the top service from Amanda & Peter! Just a few minutes walk from both beach and marina where the reef tours originate, and of course the shopping/restaurants area. Air conditioning in both bedrooms and in the living room. All clean and comfy. Amanda and Peter also took care of all bookings, without extra cost. Amanda and Peter - keep it up - we had a great time!

Amanda and Peter are the most amazing hosts. xoxo Before we even arrived, Amanda was doing everything that she could to ensure that we would make the most out of our stay. Amanda was able to offer guidance and recommendations for tours and places to see. She was able to arrange our transfers AND book our tours. Amanda would go above and beyond to understand us and recommend the best tours for us. This was so very helpful and took away the stress of planning for us as we worked throughout our busy day-to-day lives, while also trying to ensure our holiday planning was on track. Once we landed at Cairns Airport, Amanda was checking in to see if we had been able to locate our transfer. When we arrived at the property, Amanda and Peter greeted us with warm smiles. Peter walked us to our apartment and talked us through the map of the area and helped with dining and local intel. The property itself was way better than pictured! So clean and spacious! The pictures just don't do the property justice. The location is fantastic. A short stroll to the shops and restaurants or a short stroll to the beach. The strolls are a part of holiday / beach tradition. We loved the pool. Of all the places we stayed up north, this was the only one with a kitchen with enough plates etc! What makes this place even more special is how much Amanda and Peter look after their guests. Amanda would wait with us out front of the property for our tour/transfers and ensure our good departure. She would wait, no matter how long to wave us off on our adventure. Our sons simply loved this and waved back eagerly at Amanda and Peter, who would join her. The pure banter and relationship of the two and their connection with the clients made this a home away from home. While not a bed and breakfast, this venue felt like you were the guests of locals. Better than a bed and breakfast in my opinion, as it was private, but you had the hosts there when you needed them. :)

NOTHING! We loved this place! This is our Tropical Far North QLD pick. We also ventured on to other locations outside of Port Douglas and every accommodation was compared to this one in terms of standards, with this one at the top.

Location a short walk from McCrossan St. Amanda and Peter who run the place are super helpful, warm and welcoming. They helped out with transfer bookings as well as our trip to Hartley’s Crocodile farm. The 2 bed apartment was very clean and comfortable. Whilst a little dated it is excellent value compared to some of the other places we have stayed at in PD previously. The swimming pool was perfect. Heated to c. 28 degrees… perfect for the family to swim and relax in. My daughter spent 2 hours in there every day.

The apartment was very private, clean, comfortable and well set up with a lovely garden outlook The bed was very comfortable too. The Outrigger is situated an easy walking distance to the beach, shops and marina. We definitely didn’t need a car. Amanda and Peter, the managers, were so warm and welcoming and helpful. They made us feel very much at home.
