Everything! This was our third time in Port Douglas and we’ve all wanted to stay in Peppers and we are so happy we did. The pool area is obviously the standout. Plenty of shade and also sun loungers available. Very family friendly. The check in experience was great. The Irish girl at reception made us feel very welcomed and was very helpful. Location is great as it’s only a short walk to the restaurants, shops and beach. Our room was very spacious and it overlooked the pool area. It was also very quiet at night and dark, so we slept well. Breakfast was better than I was expecting, after reading some negative reviews; good selection of cereals and fruits and eggs your way avail to order.

There was very little not to like. The only upgrades I would really like to see would be a better gym and a fan included in the bathroom.

I liked the professionalism of the staff, they were very accommodating, made sure and did everything possible so we could enjoy our stay. The rooms were clean, well maintained and the beds were comfortable. We enjoyed having a window wall that could slide to open up to the patio and deck. The pool was refreshing and we enjoyed the private deck from our room. The beach was a very short block from the back entrance (maybe 100m at a stretch) and the city is a 5 minute walk to the shops.

While there was pool side service for people on the beach it would be nice if that also existed for the private decks (would probably require an RC boat/floaty). We ordered room service for dinner one day which was prompt delivery; however, I would have expected ordering 4 beers to show up in cans rather than 4 scooners given it was room service and not pool side service. There were a lot of kids at the resort that were rambunctous around rhe pool, which for us was alright but if planning a relaxing/honeymoon style trip than just be aware that the pool area can become chaotic at times. The sand beach was nice, would be next level if they removed the sticks that were in the sand beach.

Location of the resort was great, walking distance to everything eg cafes shops etc.

Our room was not in a quiet area as requested and very loud with kids in the pool area in the evening . People also reserved sun lounges with towels all day. Buffett breakfast was not very nice and quite expensive per person, not a lot of options, location where drinks were very dark and just the configuration of where everything is placed not ideal, we found ourselves looking for things and trying to figure out where things were?? No butter or jam sachets avail so had to ask staff for some. We did not find breakfast staff very friendly.

The staff were not only a credit to the property but a credit to themselves. They were bright, friendly and respectful. As a retired hotel manager I know it’s increasingly difficult to put together a crew of this caliber. More training would be good, however I think this may already be in place. Well done everyone. Dirty feet from the tiles in the room was disappointing, however was rectified and maintained after asking for special attention.

Location was fantastic. 2 shorts blocks to shopping and restaurants. 1 block to patrolled surf beach. Staff were super-friendly.

Bed was a 3 star experience. Hotel took whole cost 7 months in advance. Children in pool area were very loud, with parental supervision marginal. This property should be advertised as a family destination, rather than a 5-star resort. Adults with no kids may not find it suitable.

The room was great on the top level and had separate sitting room, bed room and kitchen/lounge room. The location of the accommodation was a short stroll to 4 mile beach and a 10 min walk into the main town. The lagoon pool was fantastic and is the star of the resort! It was our favourite part and our daughter loved it.

The in house cleaning team never swept or vacuumed the floor of our accommodation once in the 5 nights we were staying there. It became quite dirty due to the sand being brought in from the lagoon. I would suggest a quick vacuum of the floors in future, for guests who stay longer than a couple of days.

We loved the access to the pool. We were given an upgrade which meant we were given an extra unit. This gave lots of space with our active grandchildren.

The bathroom was not very clean and there was black mould on one of the towels. There was in the kitchen to say the rangehood must be used however it was very old and the switches were difficult to turn on and off. The coffee machine did not work.

Lovely small resort feel and quite luxurious. Lovely comfortable rooms, cocktails, food and drinks available at pool bar / restaurant. Staff were nice and rooms very clean and comfortable. Underground parking useful and cool during hot weather. Port Douglas generally is a very nice place and a lovely town with high standards visible everywhere. Concierge brought all of our luggage to room andntou do feel.looked after here. Very close to the beach.

We absolutely loved the pool area, the location was perfect and the staff were friendly

We were not provided with pool towels as their were not enough apparently. We were given some threadbare bath towels to use however, decided to use our own personal towels instead. Not sure what happened but the floor in our room was wet and slippery - could have been condensation from the spa on the balcony or air conditioning but had to put towels on the floor.

We liked the location. Walking distance to the town and 4 mile beach. The staff were lovely and very accommodating. The pool was very nice. Our return flight home wasn't until late that day and checkout was at 10am. We were able to get a 11am checkout and able to use the pool, meals area and store our luggage there until we were to be picked up later in the day.

I would only have to say the one issue was the breakfast hot buffet was often cold and not replenished unless you asked. Often no orange juice or strawberries. I think the staff could be more mindful of making sure everything is replenished etc milk, juices . Where the cold fruits are I think this needs to be revamped as you are leaning over to get the fruits at the back and you have to be careful you're not spilling the juice over the cold meat and fruit in the front.
