The location was superb. We asked for a quiet unit and that is what we got.

The cleaning could be improved.

We had a first floor apartment which was comfortably furnished. We have stayed in a number of apartments in Port Douglas over the years and return to Mowbray because of the size of the balconies and proximity to the beach. The staff are very pleasant and helpful to deal with. Each bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom.

The bathrooms are becoming a tired when compared to more recently built properties. There is no lift so accessing the upper floor apartment requires climbing stairs which would be a challenge for people with mobility issues. .

It is well located, so close to the beach and an easy walk to Macrossan St with shops & restaurants. Spacious 2-bed apartment with low-key, neutral furnishings.

We had a second floor apartment. The lack of a lift in this property (when travelling with suitcases or needing a room for guests who need accessibility) really hinders this apartment complex. We housed other guests in an apartment in a nearby street (who needed accessibility). The pool is closely overlooked by sunbathing guests (lovely pool, but it’s not a spacious area) so that felt awkward. Something like 5 mornings out of 7 when the garbage bins are collected by the truck (!!) is not a holiday / relaxing morning feel.

The apartment was in a superb location-2 minutes to the beach and 10 minutes to the high street. Each bedroom had its own en-suite and the balcony was large and well furnished. We had everything you could wish for and were even provided with a welcome pack of washing liquid for laundry and dishwasher. On arrival I couldn’t find the hairdryer and emailed and within hours a brand new one had been delivered to me. This apartment was superb for us and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. The pool was nice, the apartment was nice and the location superb. Such great value for money.

The location is excellent. It is very close to the patrolled area of Four mile beach as well as some seaside restaurants. It is only a short walk to Macrosson street where most of the local shopping and eating places in Port Douglas are located .

I would be happy to stay here again however I think some attention needs to be given to improving the cleaning. The basic cleaning is adequate but the louvres are very dusty as are the fans etc. If this were improved It would be a faultless stay.

It was a nice and comfortable apartment, the location was really good, walking distance to bars shops and cafes but also to the beach. The kitchen had everything you need to cook a meal when you are tired of eating out, very comfortable beds and good Wi-Fi. The pool is a bonus especially for the kids although adults could enjoy some wine and a good book in the evening...very relaxing. The staff was very accommodating. We would definitely come back there again.

The place is a bit dated and some areas needs dusting, like behind the sofas or on top of paintings. Otherwise it was a really nice place. We had a good time.

Great location to town & beach. Spacious rooms. Lovey balcony. Washing machine and dryer were great for life with toddler/baby. Comfortable beds. Warm pool. Only thing was under beds/couch and TV unit didn’t seem to be cleaned found and we found old things (socks toy rubbish) when trying to search for our toys when leaving. Couldn’t get platforms to work on the TV but not the end of the world also didn’t make an effort or ask as wasn’t to bothered. All in all easy and affordable! Thanks for the stay

The (heated) pool and resort location are winners! Martin ( manager) was very helpful and attentive - inc lugging our heavy cases to and from our top floor unit. Thanks Martin!

I think that it’s probably time for some refresh of some aspects. Eg. Our bathrooms were very modern and fresh but some kitchen floor tiles were chipped and doors did not shut easily ( I go understand the swelling of woodwork in a humid climate).

We’ve just spent a very relaxing week in apartment 17. The location is brilliant - 100 m stroll to 4 Mile Beach. The apartment is spacious, well appointed, comfortable and very quiet. We particularly enjoyed the huge private balcony - it was very easy to have most of our meals there. Though the 2 flights of stairs up to the apartment appeared daunting at first - my 70 + year old legs soon adjusted.

It’s always the little things - we stayed for 7 days and would have appreciated not having to shop for soap, tissues, washing up detergent and paper towels on day 2.

The apartments are in a fabulous location, convenient to everything. You can walk to the shops, restaurants and beach from the apartments. Our apartment was a very good size and well equipped. The whole complex was very clean and well maintained. There is a lovely pool with bbq facilities beside it. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Mowbay by the Sea. And would have no hesitation in recommending it as a great place to stay.
