The modern extension to the Hotel Encinar, now its main face to the world, is an elegant, low-lying building with attractive mature gardens to the rear, surrounding the pool. The rooms are generously sized (ours had a vast private terrace), well equipped and comfortable, with good aircon. Reception staff were welcoming and helpful and the hardworking bar staff really earned their wages. The restaurant offers an extensive choice for breakfast and our lunch in the pool bar was excellent. The hotel is very easy to find and in a really useful location just off the motorway (which you can't see, though you can hear it). There's a good, traditional restaurant at the back of the hotel, about 5 minutes' walk away.

Our room had a change of level, with three sharp-edged steps leading down to the bathroom and the terrace. Negotiating this in the middle of the night without coming to grief required care. If this would be an issue for you, it would be worth specifying a room on the flat. Bottled water is provided on the first night but further bottles have to be bought. There's no tea. Milk is in those tiresome little capsules and not many of them - we bought some from the nearby supermarket and kept it in the fridge. It looks like you have to pay for your Nespresso capsules, though in the event I wasn't charged. There's no turndown service. All of these are minor niggles and didn't detract from our overall enjoyment - we will be returning in the autumn.

We paid for an upgrade after the first night and the second room was good. Breakfast was excellent. Cocktail by pool good. Light bite by pool early eve good too. Parking on site useful

We booked a rate on Booking.com which was good- arrived and our room was in Siberia over the staff quarters. Felt like we were being punished for having booked a good rate. We were also in an inter- connecting room beside another couple in Siberia- but hotel was far far from full.

This property has a lot going for it. Very good location, my room size was good. Food in the restaurant was good and breakfast had a wide selection. Beds are comfortable

The pillows are not comfortable at all and the air conditioner turns off at night on its own making the quality of sleep poor. I complained to the staff but it was not resolved.

Good location for the local golf courses! This hotel is nicely decorated throughout with large modern and comfortable rooms. Rooms and balcony’s are nicely private. Everywhere was clean and impeccably presented. Good breakfast!

Couple of small details like they didn’t top up my coffee pods or water daily. Drain cover was left off and open on my balcony. Gym was below average. As I say just small things no major complaints.

A modern yet attractive hotel with very pleasant public rooms, stylish decor and very amicable and helpful staff. I only really partook of breakfast yet that was very good indeed; I struggle to think of what more anyone could want. The pool, though officially closed was still accessible if one accepted no lifeguard at this time of year (refreshing not to be nannied!) My room was marvellous, comfortable, clean and quiet

Really, it’s hard to fault this hotel but: a light over the wash basins would have been good as it was difficult to shave in the half light. Ladies would probably struggle with make up etc. A hook or two might have been useful for hanging jackets etc and errrrm…a shelf in the shower for shampoo bottles etc? Oh, and in this day and age, lots of tiny bottles and slivers of soap is not the best for tje environment; dispensers on the wall are best. This is all minor stuff though. Loved it and would go back tomorrow!!!

Room was newly renovated Bed exceptionally comfortable Thick white towels Only problem in room was we felt it very very hot even though air conditioning on at 19 Outside space perfect on ground floor Cleaners were exceptionally good and very friendly well done

Didn’t like the idea of no pool towels till 11 o clock in morning ,also that’s when pool opened People like to chill out on their break and 11am to late for towels Aircon as above The gentleman on reception was friendly and very welcoming The ladies on reception were not friendly at all couldn’t smile On checking out we weren’t even asked if we’d enjoyed our stay and thank you for coming hope to see you again very rude Manager who we saw every morning at breakfast always said good morning

Room was modern, spacious.and well equipped. Lots of parking. Good price in restaurant & breakfast was a good offering. The mattress was great, and the pillows and air con made for a good sound sleep

The toilet paper is extremely flimsy - please improve this! It wasn’t too bad at all for us but maybe some sound proofing on doors so you don’t hear when people walk past?

Everything is lovely

The wasp situation at the pool/restaurant area needs to be attended to. All the staff are friendly and helpful- only one lady at the front office needs to understand what it means to be in the hospitality business. The receptionist lady checking us out was rude and aggressive toward my daughter after we had requested and confirmed a late check out and demanded that we would have to pay another night. We had requested and confirmed 1 hour later than usual check out time and actually checked out at 12.30. This is unacceptable.

This hotel is great in location, its services and staff. Breakfast too was excellent too.

It’s winter of course but the balcony was completely bare other than a small table and a couple of chairs. Not really attractive to use but I believe the outlook better in different parts of the hotel grounds.

We stayed for only a short while as we arrived late and left after breakfast, however we were very pleased with the hotel, the generous room and very comfy beds.

Whilst the pillows were really lovely, the duvet and cover felt a bit cheap. That said, it really was not a problem and they were adequate.
